It wasn't a good shower book.

The more I think about this book the less I like it. So that's why I've dropped the star rating by 2. I just can't get over the feeling like it's an unfinished work.

Could've been 4⭐️ but the disability rep isn't good. I liked this world though. I didn't like the fat rep either, but that's not my wheelhouse. I definitely feel comfortable talking about the disability rep though.

The romance wasn't good enough to save this. I missed Charm and Prim. I liked Eva, but the romance was just to lackluster for me to care about it succeeding or not. The world is still interesting, and if if there's a third I'll read it. But this was a huge letdown from the first.

This was way too heavy emotionally to be good. This is not what I want from my monster smut. There was too much grief and trauma and not enough smut to balance it out. The Dragon's Bride was way, way better. At least it didn't take long to read.

I loved EVERYTHING about this book! It was the right amount of everything! The characters were great. The setting was awesome! I love witches and I love when books are unapologetically queer AF! I'm definitely reading Ross' other books!

This should've been a full length novel. I really wanted more. That's why it's not a 5 star read for me.

I am unequivocally shattered.

For a debut novel I was impressed. Unlike other reviewers I don't think it was mis-marketed. I liked the romance because it was realistic. I'll definitely read Maxwell's next book.

I loved this just as much as I loved the first the book. However, I can't give it the 5 stars it deserves because of the errors. I can give it 4 stars though because the errors have been significantly reduced.

This should've been a short story on a blog or on released on Kindle Unlimited. This did not deserve to be its own book. This is basically just one long epilogue.

I loved the magic system. It's cute and charming. However, as a historical fiction novel it mostly failed. If we are in Victorian London why does the dialogue sound very American and not even American for the time period? That was a bit jarring. But I really loved the story overall.

This rating is only for Life And Death. I'll mark Twilight as currently reading so it will count as my second reread.

I liked this retelling.

I'm a diehard fan of The Hunger Games. But this book fell flat for me. I loved the extra world building and I liked Lucy Gray's songs. But Snow isn't a compelling character. This got a third star only because once again a narrator can make or break a book. Fontana made this book so much better.

If I could give this 10 stars I would!!!! White feminism isn't ready for this!

I think Harkness overestimated how much people would care about Phoebe.
