This paranormal romance is based in contemporary London. Silver Harris meets a vampire Logan Byrne by accident and after one kiss is hooked. But she is convinced she will never meet him again so joins up with a vampire dating service called V-date. Logan works for an underworld character who told him to dissuade Silver from wanting to use V-date. Logan does not know why but he finds himself disobeying his Boss.
It was unusual to find a character who is described as desirable needing help to find a match. But in today's busy metropolitan lifestyle it is very hard to find someone compatible and not just surface beautiful which is what Silver is looking for.
It was a light sexy read. Logan sounds to die for as a hero in the story. Plenty of misunderstandings and mishaps.
Ilona Andrews always has great sexy scenes and she did not disappoint in this book. Nevada is trying hold her family together doing P.I work. Only a few people have magic capabilities due to a virus a long time ago. The most powerful ones are Primes. Conner “Mad” Rogan is one of them. He is very volatile and tries not to fall for Nevada. He is very arrogant and pissed me off a lot but that just makes for the best characters. Nevada does not put up with him and fights him until he softens towards her. I give it 4 stars. I'll read the next in the series
I received this book free for an honest review.
I really like the amount of information given in this book. There are sweater patterns for size 2 children's to 5X woman's and XX males. You can use yarn sized 1 to 5. Most of the patterns are fairly simple in style but if you have experience knitting garments you can fix that easily enough. Being a new knitter and never have done a garment before. This books takes a lot of the complication out of it, so that I feel I could do this. You can knit the sleeve in one piece with the back and front and have very minimal seaming to do.
The charts are really easy to understand. I think this book would be good for an experienced beginner to expert knitter.
This story is a prequel of the Hollow series set in the 1960's. The story features Felecia Eloytrisk (Trisk) Cambri and Trenton Kalamack (Kal) and their rivalry in school and professionally. Trisk is a dark elf which Kal makes sure to put her down every chance he gets. He is actually jealous of her achievements. When he decides to sabotage her he doesn't think it through and causes an apocalyptic event that they have to work together to fix. I really dislike the Kal character but love his fairy companion Orchid. It was a little slow going at first but there was a lot of world building being done so it was necessary. Especially showing how being a woman in the '60s can be limiting. I really enjoyed the ending and I am looking forward to the rest of the series.
I absolutely loved this book. Felicia is so brave putting this out. Telling her story about her unusual upbringing and search for perfection just to find out that it doesn't make you happy. I feel proud to be a reader of this book and fan of hers even more than before. She lives life to the beat of her own drum and that is a very good sound.
There is a pandemic that sweeps over the world killing many and changing some into magical beings. The people remaining have to try to survive the new world for there are some that will kill just for the fun of it. Lana and Max leave NY to try to find safety elsewhere. As do Arliss, Fred and Katie, meeting new people and banding together to try to form new societies. There are factions against the Uncanny (new magical ability people). There are Dark Uncanny who want to take over the world.
I really enjoyed this book and look forward to the sequel.
I really loved this book. I have so many recipes I need to try now. I went right out and bought an instant pot to try them. The recipes are so easy to follow. The pictures were great and yummy looking. I really didn't know how much I could make with my instant pot. From pressure cooker settings to cook meat fast to making yogurt in this.
I was on the fence about buying an instant pot and this book really helped me make the leap. Especially nice for beginners but there are advances tips as well.
The book takes place on the Moon. Jasmine “Jazz” Bashura is a smuggler getting things to rich people that would not otherwise be allowed. She works as a porter during her regular hours and her father is very respected welder that she was trained to follow but is going her own way. She is of Saudi Arabian descent and has spent her whole life on the moon. She gets an offer too good to be true but pays so well that she has to do it. It affects her whole life and the lives of all on Artemis.
There is never a dull moment in this story and was a great follow up to The Martian. I won't be surprise to find out this is going to be a movie soon.
I am a huge fan of the book [b:Jane Eyre 10210 Jane Eyre Charlotte Brontë https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1327867269s/10210.jpg 2977639] and have read it many times. But I also love a paranormal story. This book combines both very well and enjoyably. Even though I knew the story, I still enjoyed the twists this gave it.
Charlotte aka Charley Davison is a grim reaper. She helps souls cross over. So is her boyfriend Reyes who comes to her usually in ghost form. In this installment her friend Cookie is looking for another friend Mimi who has disappeared. It seems there are other disappearances related to this one. Charley of course gets into PI mode and then people are trying to kill her. I love that she is snarky and doesn't take most stuff too seriously. Sometimes she annoys me though with going off half-cocked and not thinking some things through before acting. But I guess that's what makes it seem so real. At the same time she is trying to find Reyes body as he is being attacked by demons. Reyes doesn't want her to find him as he is trying to keep her away from these demons.
Wonderful story. I really enjoyed the pacing of the story.
Elle is a huge fan of an old sci-fi tv series that she loved with her dad who has passed away. The story is being revamped into a new movie and she's not too happy about who they picked for the lead. She writes a very popular blog about the series. She also has a step mother and two stepsisters who treat her like crap.
Darien Freeman is a star of a romantic ya tv series and is also a fan of the show but most people do not want to give him the chance to do really well in it. They never really mention that Darien is black but they do mention that he has brown skin. But I sort of like that because it really doesn't affect the storyline at all.
Elle and Darien accidentally start texting each other knowing very little about each other. Elle doesn't find out that Darien is the guy she has developed feelings for. He doesn't know that she is the one who wrote the scathing review of him.
I read this series out of order so when the plot jumped I was not ready for it. Up until about halfway it didn't matter and even after they explained a lot. But I am intrigued enough to go back a book or two in the series. Rave parties are being set up by vampires to feed on. It seems the Master vampire is actually trying to get the main character Jessica's attention. She got away from him many times over the years and he will kill all those she loves to get to her. The romance is fairly predicable and so is the story but a fun read nonetheless
