Sometimes, I don't even know why I try a book. It took me about five pages to know this was not going to do it for me. Narration, characters... I really don't want to be mean so I'm just going to stop there, leave this DNF for my own posterity and leave the pleasure of this book to others.

I can't say that this is badly written and does not deserve your time. It's actually fair in terms of writing and storyline. The thing is... I did not get what the Daddy thing was about and was intrigued (tldr, it's a kink where two partners are in a sexual relationship but outside of that, the woman is taken care of as if she was a little girl and the man acts as a daddy caretaker; this might be a little tldr and I hope I'm not missing a key part but that's the gist of it). I'm sure there are people who take pleasure in this (obviously or there wouldn't be a market for it) but this is just so not for me. I was quite creeped out by the interactions, which is a shame because some of the ideas in the book were quite sound.

All in all, it's a DNF for me but if you're into this kink, the writing seems super solid so I'd go for this author if it was my thing.

The same problem occured in book number 2 that I found in book 1. It was all too convoluted. The characters felt very wooden. What I will give the series is that there's no insta love/relationship at least. Most of the time, the relationship between the characters is actually already implemented. But I guess that it's also something that takes some of the fun and charm out of the story....

So long for nothing at all to be happening. I love reading about hot people getting it on but about 1000 pages might be pushing it.

This honestly read like a fifteen year old wrote it. I don't know, I could not get behind the interactions between the characters and the relationships. Everything was ridiculously sweet and over the top.

Honestly, I like a slow motion story but this is getting ridiculous. I wonder if I wouldn't have liked this better if it had been a two books deal with some heavy editing. Also, I feel like I already know what's going to happen in the next book and a half and I'm just not digging it.
I normally enjoy my reverse harem with a supernatural element (at least, an omegaverse one) because I can never quite buy it in a ‘real life' setting SO I'm having trouble with the idea of four brothers being in love with the same girl, even (or especially because) they're special snowflakes that will do anything for one woman they barely know.

While the first book worked at least a little, this just started to feel way too repetitive, the narration going in circle and the relationships stagnating.

I did not connect with the writing nor with the basis of the book. Decisions made and rethought five years later on a whim. I could almost get behind the reasoning of Leah, I could almost get behind how easy Alistair forgave her but how it all quickly went from “omg, I have a daughter” to “let's be a real family” just is way too fast for me and is just too fast for a treatment of feelings that's nuanced.
