This was very good, but also very sad. Joan's life was filled with rape, abuse, war, and death. It is not light reading, however the writing is very good. Despite the heavy religious overtones, it made sense with the story and wasn't preachy, just a part of the time period. Joan was fearless and fantastic. I would like to own a physical copy of this book someday. 5 ⭐.
I'm calling it quits. I gave it a couple hundred pages, but after I read a few reviews, I figured this wasn't for me. I like werewolf stories however I am not a fan of the cheating trope. It's good writing, but this wasn't to my taste. I wish the author good luck, and I'm giving this 2.5 ⭐ rounded up.
This had such strong potential but wound up falling flat on its face. The MC is a lesbian, and the writing was good but character growth was barely there, and it felt a little stagnant at times with plot and pacing. While Lucy, our MC, is a likeable character, she makes frustrating decisions and choices. Overall this was good, but at the same time an annoying read. I wish I could explain it more properly, but ah well. Onto the next book. 4 ⭐.
This is meant to be a Cinderella story rags to riches and I read a hundred pages of Leonie being so beautiful but she doesn't know it but if the other girls say it maybe it's true. I checked reviews and I'm calling it quits on this one. This was poor writing, flat characters, and tired tropes. Pass. 2 ⭐.
