Some books are just good for the soul, and I believe A Guy Walked into My Bar is one of those books. This book is just full of goodness, and light, and a joy to listen to. It opens with a letter from Lauren about the fact that the book contains no homophobia and the reason why. The short version, love is love. If you don't believe that, this isn't going to be the book for you. And I'm probably not the person for you, either.

As always, Lauren Blakely not only entertains so expertly but hits you in the feels too. How much of those feels were Lauren's words or Joe Arden's delivery of them remains to be seen, I'm sure it's a mixture of the two. The story has very little conflict and drama which was a nice pace, and I love how communication resolved the little spat they had. I've said it before and I'm sure I'll say it again, Lauren is a master at the male PoV.

Dean and Fitz are so perfect together, they really were a match made... in a bar, (I know, I know, don't judge me) For me, this story is about two people that meet and have a connection. Even though one of them tries to fight it, it doesn't last long. Some couplings are evitable and this is one of those moments. The steam factor is high in this book, and it worked. What else do you do on a holiday romance? It gave their relationship that sense of urgency, knowing it was for a limited time. And that was also the case with the touristy things they did together, I loved seeing that. Now, there were a couple of instances, as a Brit, that I raised an eyebrow and said, really? But that could very well be a regional issue as opposed to not being a British thing and it didn't really affect the story.

The narration was superb. Shane East and Joe Arden in a duet narration was something I didn't know I needed in my life. Their chemistry and banter really bled through the headphones. Joe is one of those voice actors that is extremely expressive during the emotional scenes, I swear, he can make me choke up with the way he performs them, that was something that I didn't expect with this book but it gave it that sense of realism too, that Fitz was feeling all the emotions. Shane was brilliant as Dean and really brought that cheeky aspect to the story. Shane's alpha voice made a nice appearance, and I'm sure many listeners swooned. They seemed to work off each other well and it took the audio to the next level. Part of that, I'm sure, has been the buildup of their bromance over on Twitter, it was the best marketing ever. The production was wonderful with no issues.

The audio also included a full cast, personally, there were some characters that I felt didn't need to have a ‘voice.' Especially when it was just a line or two. But that is just personal taste. I thought Vanessa Edwin's British accent was done really well, I love that she's becoming more sought after. I just love her. Emma Wilder was as fabulous as always - #GirlCrush and Jakobi Diem, sigh, you don't even want to know my reaction when I saw his name attached to this project, and he did not disappoint. At all. If you're not enjoying him in your ears yet, you need to fix that. Stat. There was an extended epilogue with Vanessa & Jakobi that hinted at a story, and I'm telling you, right now, I AM HERE FOR IT!

The audiobook has some bonus features. A fireside chat between Stella Hunter, Joe Arden, and Shane East. Bloopers. A bonus scene that the Joe and Shane bromance Twitter fans will adore. And a clip from Birthday Suit. I want to acknowledge the bonuses because I'm usually not a fan of them, but this fireside chat just filled my heart and restored a little of my faith in humanity, why you ask? Joe Arden. His stance on several of the topics raised was so heartfelt and sincere that it just buoyed me up. If he was in front of me, I'd have given him a standing ovation or bowed. The world would be a much better place if it had more people like him in it.

A little sidenote, and this isn't meant to offend anyone or put anyone down. And taking nothing away from Shane East because the man is bloody brilliant, but based on the description of Dean, I would have liked the narrator to have represented the character's ethnicity. It is wonderful to see more diversity in romance books, I'd just like to see that being taken further and voiced too. In addition, I had already written this when Lauren Blakely announced her stance on diversity and future casting. As always, she is a class act that is working towards a better future for all.

This was a little different to what I usually read. More paranormal, which I didn't realise looking at the cover.

They say a ghost can't pass over until they settle their unfinished business, Parrish Locke is about to find out that she has a skill set uniquely designed to help. She just needs to embrace it.

It's difficult to talk about this book without giving anything away. It feels like two separate stories that are told in a way to make them interconnect so well. They are interwoven wonderfully and leave you wanting more. If you like mafia stories, books with a bit of suspense and a romantic thread, with a little ghostly effect thrown in, this is the book for you.

The audiobook is performed in duet by David Black and Amanda Stribling. The majority of the story is told from the female POV with only a handful of male POV chapters, but fear not, because this is duet, you hear plenty from David Black and thank goodness as it would have been a mighty shame not to have heard his deep, growly voice throughout the story. He was perfect as Dominick. The Italian was done to a wonderful, convincing standard. I think we're going to be seeing his name a lot in the future. Amanda Stribling did a great job of switch between Parrish and Karlee. It took me a little while to get used to her performance but once I did, it was enjoyable. The production was done well, chapter 13 did cut off early.

Gabe and Caitlin's story is a rollercoaster. It's intriguing and thought-provoking. When is it okay to commit a crime, if it's for the greater good? I'll say that I'm really glad that this was all packaged together, and I was able to listen in one go. I'm not sure whether I would have had the patience to wait for each instalment. It had so many twists and turns, some you see coming, some you don't. Gabe and Caitlin are so good together. Their chemistry is off the charts, and I loved how he was willing to take on her family. There is a scene with Caitlin's sister towards the end that had me tearing up. But mostly, I just wanted to hurt some of the characters. And that is a credit to Lili Valente's writing.

The narration was fantastic. Erin Mallon and Lance Greenfield complemented each other perfectly. They each brought so much emotion to their characters, it was beautiful to listen to. My only issue was the age of the characters, if I hadn't known they were only 20, I would have assumed they were late twenties/thirties so that affected the listen a little. That being said, Erin and Lance do such an amazing job with their performances that it's easy to get lost in the story. Erin's male voice is pure perfection and Lance's female voice is superb. The transition from each POV was smooth and not jarring at all.

I chose this book based on the narrators. I didn't read the blurb, I didn't research the author. I just dived in. I have mixed feelings on the book. On the one hand, I thought it was great, it had an A-hole character that you love to hate, who redeems himself, and don't you just love that? But on the other hand, there are some things that I just couldn't get over. The main one being the fact that the 'hero' slept with sex workers yet said he hated wearing condoms and slept with the heroine bare - but not before checking SHE was clean. It just felt extremely irresponsible, I thought it was done as a way to have her get an STI but no. I don't know whether it was to again showcase how douchey the hero is or if it was supposed to be sexy, but it just took me completely out of the story. And there is also a scene requiring the use of a safeword which could have used a little more conversation and explanation. The character barely knew what the word was for and nothing was said about what to do it she couldn't speak. Which was a shame. I called the hero a dirty talking douche as I was reading, and I feel that really summed him up for a good portion of the book, he does come around though. The heroine is an acquired taste, at times she drove me crazy, her inability to make a decision and have a backbone really impacted her likeability factor. I did like them together, I thought they were actually well suited and brought out the best in each other. This book has a high heat factor so if that isn't your thing, I'd give this book a pass.
I adore Vanessa Edwin and her performance was fantastic. Her male voice is fantastic and she nailed all the emotions the characters were experiencing. Paired with Connor Crais is just brilliant, they really complement each other.
This was my first Connor Crais audio but it won't be the last. What a book to start with. Connor was superb, he really committed to that douchy vibe of the character. His female voice was great and he delivered the bad boy redemption brilliantly.

This is my first Kacey Shea book, and I was hooked from the first chapter until the last. I don't read/ listen to a lot of rockstar romances, not because I'm against them, they just don't happen to pop up when the mood strikes. I am so glad this book jumped out as I was scrolling my Audible library looking for something to listen to.
Kacey Shea has this wonderful way of writing that is just all-encompassing. She pulls you into the story and holds you captive until the very last word, whilst making you feel every emotion she inflicts on her characters.
Trent is one of those characters that is elevated to book boyfriend status early on. With his rockstar persona, devilish good looks, cocky attitude and how he treats the important women in his life, it's hard not to be enamoured by him. His heart is what really won me over though.
I love Lexi, she could have done things the easy way but wanted to make it on her own, and I loved that about her. She didn't have the easiest past and that is reflected in her actions. She's feisty and doesn't let Trent and the band walk all over her. Once she let's her walls down, she builds such great relationships with all of them.
Together they are so good. They have great banter, which I'm a huge fan of. Their sexual chemistry is off the charts and when they finally give in, they're explosive together. Their give and take really worked for me, and when they loved, they loved wholly. The support they have each other and refusal to let the other push them away really gave their relationship that extra awesomeness.
Although there are a couple of difficult situations, the book itself isn't angsty and the emotional scenes really worked to enhance the story and the relationship between the couple. The dynamics in the band was fun to experience, and I can't wait to see more of them in the following books and experience their happily ever afters too.

I chose to listen to this book because I was in the mood for some Jason Clarke, and as always, he didn't disappoint. He voiced each member of the band so uniquely that it was easy to discern each one. His female voice is one of the best in the business and is showcased so perfectly in this book. He was the perfect choice to voice Trent, the cocky rockstar vibe was strong, but his heart really shone through too. This was my first experience of listening to Lessa Lamb, and she was fantastic. Her voice is easy to listen to, she is able to differentiate the different characters smoothly and effectively. She was a great choice to voice Lexi, an up and coming rockstar with a difficult past. Jason and Lessa's voices complemented each other well and the transition from one to the other was smooth. There were a couple of tough moments in this book and they were performed to perfection by both voice actors. Their ability to switch from humour to emotional was beautiful and each was delivered so flawlessly. The production was brilliant with no issues.

Are you looking for your next love to hate book boyfriend? Look no further with this addictive and rarely seen concept that will have you on the edge of your seat and swooning by the end. It's filled with fantastic banter and just enough suspense to keep you turning the pages long into the night. A definite must read.

More to follow.

I started reading this book under it's original title, Immortal and got to about 80% before children and life got in the way. So once it was re-released, I knew I was going to do the audio and start again from the beginning. The new title and cover are a perfect representation of this story.

Steven Savile is known for getting my emotions and swear meter going and this book is no different. I went through the spectrum of emotions. I felt for Temple, he endured so much loss throughout his travels and watching him form friendships was just heartwarming, no matter how doomed they were. I know, I know, it's a dark post-apocalyptic story, how could I find it heartwarming, but I did. There is something just so compelling about the relationships and reactions that Temple has as he tries to find his way. There were funny moments and creepy moments and heartbreaking moments. They all blend together to bring this amazing story to fruition. It is written in such a way that will keep you guessing throughout, wondering who Temple is and why things are happening. For some, it may be confusing but that is also part of the allure, not knowing what or why things are happening and like any good story that sucks you in, there is the big reveal that brings everything together and gives you that final puzzle piece so you have the full picture and can sit back and fully comprehend the awesomeness of what you've just experienced and how little nuggets of info we're dropped along the way, making you sit up and go, 'oh, wow. That's what that meant or what that was about' some more sad than others.

This might have been one of my favourite Steve West performances. His ability to give each character their own voice is pure excellence. Steve brings so much to the character of Temple and his confusion and the trials and tribulations he endures. And that last chapter, insert all the tears. Talk about heartbreaking. Not to mention, he does creepy so well. Seriously, some of these characters were creepy AF. Having read a good portion before doing the audio, I can safely tell you, it's a great book that is even better when listened to. Hearing these characters just gave it a whole new depth. A must listen for sure.

This was such a sweet short story. Marley is in Paris with her friends and while they go do all the height attractions on their last day, she explores, bumping into the charming Reid, a Brit who is spending his last day in Paris too. The way they met was one of the sweetest meet-cutes ever, who wouldn't bond over chocolate? Spending time with them in Paris almost felt like we were there with them. And their chemistry was palpable, I was sad when they went their separate ways leaving it to serendipity as to if they ever meet again, and spoiler alert - not really, this is a Lauren Blakely romance, they do meet again and it was just perfect. Lauren Blakely manages to capture so much romance, not just for the couple but the city in this story and it's beautiful to listen to.

Performed brilliantly by Erin Mallon and Shane East. Not really much I can add to that, they are both top-notch performers and that comes through in this story. They put so much heart into the performance it was easy to get lost in the romance.

The audio also includes Too Good to be True, performed by Andi Arndt and Joe Arden.

This is such an adorable short story about a blind date and what comes after. Olivia has been hurt in the past and because of it is prone to self-sabotage, so when she's set up with Herb, she's sure it'll be a disaster. Lucky for her, Herb feels the same way. Lucky for us listeners, they're both wrong and hit it off instantly and go on what might be the best date ever. They so cute together and they have so much chemistry. I loved how Lauren packed such a punch with a short story, she really knows how to deliver the feels.

I had listened to this story previously, where Herb was performed by RC Bray. Andi Arndt sounds great as always, and her voice worked well with both narrators. Joe Arden was fantastic as Herb, different to Bray, of course, but it still kept the integrity of the character and the performance. I'm not a huge fan of re-casting mainly because reviews look weird when the named narrator is different, not to mention, if you loved it, it feels like your story has been changed, for this though, Joe is so good and there voices have the same sort of tone, that is worked well.

This is the first book in the After Dark series from Lauren Blakely that I've listened to and what a way to kick things off. It's like Lauren Blakely on steroids. What I mean by that is it's pure Lauren goodness; you have a fun, heartwarming story filled with wit and awesome characters, but she's upped the sexy factor. Like she cranked that bad boy to 10! I loved Callum and Stone, I thought they were fantastic characters, Callum's all business and Stone's party boy personas really worked well for their friendship, I loved that they were so different but that it worked for them. Ivy, I wasn't too keen on to begin with, her inability to reconcile her professional side with her sexual side annoyed me, but at the same time, without it, would there have been a story? And as the story progressed, she did grow on me. I loved her with Callum though. Match made in heaven. His ability to read her and know what she wanted and needed was great and wanting to give her the fantasy in a safe way really made me fall hard for him.

This is a MFM story. Callum and Stone don't touch, much to my disappointment (I know, I know, it says it on the label - a girl can still dream!) and the story is Ivy and Callum's, it's about their relationship and self-discovery, Stone is an added bonus, you guessed it, for one night. So if you're looking for a book with three way full-time relationship, this book isn't for you. Just like if sexy times aren't your thing, this isn't the book for you either. But if you love stories about couples expressing their sexuality and fantasy exploration, you will love this book.

About the performances. Well, what can I say, Emma Wilder and Joe Arden are just fabulous as Ivy and Callum, add in a handful of chapters from Jacob Morgan as Stone, which was just fantastic, and lastly, sprinkle in a surprise, outstanding Teddy Hamilton chapter as Jackson, Stone's bodyguard, to whet the appetite for a future book and you've got audiobook perfection right there. It was such a joy to listen to, these voice actors are at the top of their game and it shows. The performances were a joy to listen to. The transition from each narrator and character was smooth with very little issue - it's performed in dual narration, and sometimes the change in the different voices can be distracting but that isn't the case here, the voices were well matched and complemented each other. In the book, Callum describes Ivy's voice as honey and whiskey, and I thought I'd never heard a more perfect description of Emma Wilder's voice. The audio also includes a sneak peek of Dear Sexy Ex-Boyfriend, which is available now, performed in duet narration by Andi Arndt and Shane East. With additional cameos by Kit Swann & Joe Arden.

Cheeky King

This is the follow on to Cheeky Royal, and it's fantastic. Whereas Cheeky Royal was more about the couple, Sebastian and Penelope, hiding who they truly were and falling for each other, Cheeky King is them trying to stay away from each other, Penelope is trying to do her job and protect the king, but Sebastian isn't making it easy, his hurt is evident, and he lashes out at every turn. But neither of them can resist their chemistry and the sexual tension. Add in the suspense and the whodunit feel and it makes for a truly addictive story. It still had laugh out loud moments and the grovelling was done to perfection. You'll note from my review of Cheeky Royal that I wanted a book for a certain couple, and now know why that won't be happening. I was both saddened and happy about it. I still vote for a Michael story.

Andi Arndt and Shane East perform this book and do a fabulous job. The issues I had with Cheeky Royal still existed, but I think I became accustomed to it as it didn't feel as noticeable or jarring. Which is always a bonus. Shane and Andi really do work so well together.

This was such a fun story. Penny (Len) is probably the worse at her job, which makes her the perfect candidate to locate and follow her charge—who happens to be next in line for the throne. I love her so much. Her mishaps are hilarious, and I love how she struggled with her job and the secrecy of it. I'll be honest, her reason for accepting the assignment had me scouring the internet for information of a book for a certain couple, I didn't find it insert sad face if you've read/ listened to the book, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.
Sebastian is a prince on a mission, he doesn't want the throne and knows just how to get out of it. But that means avoiding his family and guards. He needs to blend in and become the guy next door—and he does, quite literally. He is so charming, I fell in love with him pretty early on. The reformed playboy is always a fun storyline. The way he was with Len was so cute. I loved their interactions. The sexual tension was off the charts. And once they got together—fireworks! This book is fun and sexy and sweet, with a dose of intrigue and suspense. This is book one of two, so I was prepared for the cliffhanger, and good job too because I would have been wanting to throw something lol. A must read/ listen. I already have book two queued up.

Andi Arndt and Shane East perform this book and do so in their usual top-notch way. They always deliver first class performances and make me feel all the emotions that the characters are feeling. Their voices complement each other well. And the production is brilliant. The only issue I had, and it's just a personal taste thing, is that I was a little distracted by the mixture of accents—it didn't feel consistent. Hence the distraction. It wasn't enough of a issue to stop listening or to stop me wanting to listen to the next book, but enough for it to require a mention.

4.5 stars. This is the first book in a trilogy and a review of the updated version, released July 2020.

I've had this book on my TBR for quite some time but just haven't found the time to read or listen to it. When it was rereleased this month, I thought it was high time I dive in. I had wanted to do the audio but since the story has been revised in eBook, I decided to read it instead. I was hooked, once I started I didn't want to put it down. The sexual tension. The angst. The will they won't they. Plus add in a little suspense. It was fantastic. Jessica Hawkins is the queen of love triangles and this book is no different. From the moment David sees Olivia, he wants her, not realising she is married. He is all the things. I loved him. Olivia tries to deny her attraction to David but the more she tries, the harder it is. She has a traumatic past that has lead her to make safe decisions, including her husband. She frustrated me at some points but I also understood her reasoning. Honestly, I wasn't a fan of Bill and was cheering for David the whole book. Of course, it's a trilogy so it ends on a cliffhanger and if I didn't already have the next book, I would have been super shouty. I'm excited to dive in to book two and see where this story goes.

Jeremy Robinson never fails to entertain and this book is no different in that regard.

If you like books that make you think this is the book for you. It's not going to be to everyone's taste but what book is? I really enjoyed it. It kept me guessing throughout. Jeremy is known for his action and although this does have that, it's not what some readers will expect. When I heard he was doing a serial killer story, I was both excited and apprehensive, but I should know by now that nothing is as it seems when it comes to Jeremy's mind, and he never fails to hook me. His writing is addictive and keeps you turning the page and thinking long after you've finished. Jeremy has some of the most interesting characters and storylines. I've yet to meet a Jeremy book that doesn't blow me away. Once I started reading/ listening it was hard to pull myself away. I devoured it.

Knowing that RC Bray and Jeffrey Kafer were narrating this book made it an instant purchase for me. They both have very distinctive voices, yet complemented each other really well. The book is performed in dual narration which gives this book another layer of awesomeness. Reading this story was great, listening to it was another experience entirely. I vote for more #Brayfer narrated books.

This is Erin Mallon's debut book but it doesn't read like it. It's funny and sweet and a delight to read/ listen to. A must read/ listen for rom-com fans. The characters are fleshed out and likeable. I loved Ralph so much, he was such a sweet hero, who always put others first and helped Calliope in ways I don't think she even realised, by allowing her to see things in a different way. She was so laser-focused that so much passed her by. She was such a fun heroine, though, I loved that she was smart and not looking for love, but at the same time, couldn't dismiss the Ralph-effect and could admit when she was wrong. Their interactions are funny and sweet, the banter is perfection. If you've read any of my reviews before you'll know I'm a huge banter fan and this book has it in spades. I loved Calliope's family, they were a riot, and I could understand Calliope's responses to them but also loved that part of the story and seeing them connect. The museum setting was refreshing and gave a different spin on a workplace romance, and I enjoyed that aspect to it.

This is going on my perfect summer read/ listen list because it's such a delightful story and filled with humour and swooning moments. If heat level is important to you, this is on the low end but don't let that deter you from a wonderful story. Sometimes you read or listen to a book and it just fills you with happiness, that's what this book does. It was such a joy to listen to. I laughed out loud on more than a handful of occasions, I'm sure my colleague thought I'd lost it. It is incredibly funny. Just what you need during these difficult times. It definitely made my nightshift go fast, that's for sure. It's been a while since I've had the time to devour a book in a day, but that's exactly what I did with the audio of Flirtasaurus, once I started it, I couldn't stop. SO much, that I owe it in all versions, eBook, audio, and paperback. I love the cover, it encompasses everything to love about this story.

I'm not a huge fan of authors narrating their own books, but this is one occasion where I not only loved it but doubted anyone else could have done it the justice it deserved. Erin was these characters, she voiced them in a way that just made them come alive - I read the first 20% of the book before going back to the beginning and listening, so I can comment from both perspectives—as a reader and listener. I'll say I'm super glad I didn't have to say all those dinosaur names, and that was a definite bonus to listening lol. The production was well done and there were no issues of note. I did have a little chuckle at the word museum just because I didn't realise that is one of those words that is pronounced differently in the US to the UK—that's not a criticism, but something that I've never noticed before.

3.5 stars

Some books we love and some books just don't hit the spot. This is one of those books for me. I love the author and narrators but this book wasn't for me. I enjoyed others in the series though, so don't let this put you off. It's just a personal taste thing.

Jordy was a nice guy, I really liked him in the previous book, and I loved his interactions with Harper and his want to do whatever it took. Harper was great, even if her ‘no hockey player' rule wasn't really explained or at least didn't come across as important enough for the way she treated Jordy to begin with. She came across as the Ice Princess she was pretending to be at the auction. Once she finally gave in, they were great together. I liked the updates on the couples from the previous books. It ended well, and I was happy that the conflict didn't last long, that with a little communication they were able to get themselves back on track and in love.

Teddy Hamilton and Savannah Peachwood were great as Jordy and Harper. They bring the characters to life and deliver such fantastic performances.

I have to be honest, I'm not a huge fan of bets. It shows such a disregard for the person. Now, I've read and listened to some that made it work, but for me, this book doesn't fall into that category. Jordy never tried to put an end to it and allowed his teammates-his friends to speak about it in such a jerky way. The fact that the subject was also their coach's daughter, just didn't make sense or sit well with me. Had this been the first instead of the last book, I don't think I would have listened to any more in the series.

I don't know about you, but in these strange times we're living in, I'm more inclined to want a laugh out loud experience than anything else. Well, These Walls Can Talk delivers just that. From the fantastic writing to the incredible performances, it has it all. This audio play is like a love letter to romance audiobook fans everywhere. It's funny, with so many tongue in cheek references that listeners will love. I don't think I've ever listened to an audio play before but when Erin Mallon releases something, I sit up and pay attention. And boy am I glad I did. This book is everything I needed right now. It's a short listen, so easily listened to when you have a couple of hours to spare. I loved that each character is given an arc and their time to shine, and shine they do. I could totally relate to Vera and Cameron's relationship, and I had so many laugh out loud moments with not only them but the entire play. A definite must listen. I think the cover is a fantastic representation of the story within.

Shane East is the voice of Cameron, a “serious writer” and he's so typically British. I say that with the utmost respect for Erin's writing. Not everyone is able to pull off the British voice, but she does it seamlessly, and of course, in true Shane fashion, he performs it perfectly. There were times when I was holding my sides because it was so funny. His interactions with both Andi and Tanya were gold.

Andi Arndt is the voice of Vera, she has a little obsession with a voice actor, hey, we've all been there, right? Right! Her interactions with Shane were fantastic and that first scene, in the kitchen, man, I don't think I've laughed that much in a very long time. My husband came to check on me, and honestly, it just made me laugh harder because how he reacted was so Cameron-like. Andi is wonderful in everything she does and that is showcased well in this audio play.

Emma Wilder is the voice of Jennifer, a new audiobook narrator. I just love Emma's performances, and this one is no different. Her incredulity of the content and the men around her really shone through. I loved her interactions with both Joe and Teddy. Emma is fast becoming my go-to female voice of choice. Anyone else wanting a Nifer story, no, just me? Okay then.

Joe Arden is the voice of Atticus aka the Narwhal, a popular audiobook narrator. I just can't, I love angsty Joe but funny Joe is right up there. He was hilarious and his female voice was priceless. I want to send it to everyone wanting to get into narration with a big sign that says, what not to do. lol. There were also moments of vulnerability that were just fantastic and really showed how multifaceted Joe is as a performer. PSA: Joe Arden actually has a fantastic female voice, do not let his performance colour your decision to pick up a dually narrated book. This is just proof of his amazing, entertaining talent.

Tanya Eby is the voice of Georgia, a bestselling author whose audiobook is being recorded by Jennifer and Atticus. I loved the character, and I loved how she was performed. Tanya's southern is on point. I knew I was going to love Tanya in this role as I've listened to a number of her romcom performances and she always brings the comedy in a skilled way.

Teddy Hamilton is the voice of Neil, the sound engineer working with Jennifer and Atticus. I'm so used to hearing Teddy the nice guy, that it's so strange to hear him be something else. As a “recovering misogynist” he was able to not only showcase the character but enable him to be likeable too. He was such an arse at times, and others, so vulnerable that you just wanted to give him a hug. Which just shows his versatility.

Erin Mallon not only wrote the play that was performed in NYC earlier this year, but she also narrated/ directed the audio play. As always, she is a volcano of talent and it never ceases to amaze me. If only we could all just siphon off a tiny bit of her talent for ourselves.

The bonus content is a nice little extra. It includes bloopers, which were just as funny as the play itself. Even more so in some parts.

Faked

The moment I finished Faked, I wanted to dive back in. I love these characters so much. This book is everything I love about Karla Sorensen's stories. They are low angst. Entertaining and addictive. Although, I'm worried about my angst meter since other readers seem to say it was heavy on the angst, maybe I've been desensitised. Regardless, it's a fantastic story that everyone should read. Karla's writing is captivating.

I loved Bauer from the moment he showed up. He's a bad boy with a heart, and I just adore him. He has issues but doesn't let that stop him exploring things. His vulnerabilities were a big part of his allure. And Claire, she is awesome too. I just love her and her family. The dynamic she has with them is fantastic. I wanna be a part of that family. Although, at times I wanted to give Lia a quick slap with her judgemental ways.

I loved that neither of them really knew what they were getting themselves into in this story. What should have been one night of fun turned into so much more. The chemistry between them was off the charts, and I had to stop myself from shouting ‘Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!' at my Kindle multiple times. I love forced proximity stories and this one is one for the record books. A favourite of 2020 for sure.

And what about that cover? Holy batman! Swoon alert. I saw it and knew, without a doubt, that I needed the book in my life.

So I need to give you a little background so you can fully understand how cross I am at myself right now. I've had this book on my TBR/ TBL for quite some time. You know how it is, so many books, not enough time. I figured I'd get to it eventually. Then, a couple of days ago, I was scrolling Facebook and a post caught my eye, someone in Kennedy Ryan's group had posted a few screenshots of a scene in Grip, and being curious, I read them. I read them and was hit in the gut. I was reading marching up and down my room with tears in my eyes. The screenshots ended and it was like an evil cliffhanger, so I decided the time was now, especially considering the scene and the relevance of what it happening in the world right now.

Obviously, I wanted to start at the beginning, so Flow was queued up. Holy heck, batman! I am kicking myself for not moving this up my queue sooner. I don't think, scratch that, I know, I have never been so affected by a prequel.

So many thing were dealt with in this novella that it actually made me sit in awe that somebody could write so beautifully and move between such subjects with ease and fluidity. Kennedy Ryan is a word goddess, I know that isn't news to those that already read her, but to me, it's such a pleasure to find out.

These characters are freaking awesome. Grip, oh man, I love him, I'll take a taste of his chocolate any day! And Bristol, this woman, I ADORE her! She takes no prisoners, I'm picky AF when it comes to heroines, and Bris? She's my girl. Let's just call them my book couple. The chemistry and sexual tension between them was off the freaking charts, Yet they could have meaningful and profound conversations, it was beautiful to experience.

And the end, that bloody ending, I knew it, I just knew as soon as the scene set up, but I thought, surely not, Kennedy wouldn't play me like this? She wouldn't make me ship this couple this hard to throw it in my face. You know what? She would!

I didn't doubt that I'd enjoy Kennedy's words, she has such an amazing vibe to her that I knew I'd love it, but I never expected to fall this in love with the characters and storytelling. I need more, which of course, after that ending gives side-eye I was glad I'd already downloaded Grip. Pressing play on that baby in the morning.

The narration was great. Jakobi Diem was fabulous as Grip, and I really enjoyed the cadence of his voice and the inflections he used to express the emotions of the scene and character. His female voice is wonderful, but Grip, swoon. I could listen to it all day. I had moments were I really enjoyed Maxine Mitchell's performance, and then there were times when I wasn't sure if it was for me. Perhaps, I just need to listen to more of her work. I did think the emotional scene were fantastic, and she has a great male voice. It's definitely a me not you situation, so don't let that deter you from listening to this fantastic book.

I just love opposites attract stories and this one is a fabulous one. Cage is a jock, who has his eyes on Blair, the nerd. Only problem, she really isn't interested. Watching them build a friendship and become a couple was the sweetest thing. Of course, there is that pesky bet that she knows nothing about. Eek.

I had a lot of fun with this one. Cassy & Josi really know how to craft a story to make you swoon. I just loved it.

I'm struggling to review this book. I have so many mixed emotions. On the one hand, I love when Lauren goes all angsty on us. It's such a departure from her romcom ways, which I love, but she always nails the angst like she was born to write it. I love how she builds it up. Makes her characters work for it. This is a reworked version, and I'm sure I listened to the original because some things where familiar to me. Any how, why I'm struggling, there is a character that I hate. I don't often use that word but honestly, I hated this character with every ounce of my being. And in turn, it made me very frustrated with Harley for allowing things to continue. But, I suppose that is the joy of a good book, right? That it can evoke such strong emotions and reactions from the reader/ listener? I'm looking forward to diving into book two, even if it is the hope that someone gets hit by a bus...don't judge me!

Joe Arden and Vanessa Edwin are pure perfection. Joe performs the troubled Trey with such sincerity that it was a joy to listen to. And Vanessa, good God, this woman is just astounding, I have loved every book I've heard her perform and this was no different, the delivery of this character and her conflicting thoughts and vulnerability was conveyed beautifully. They performed this book so well, they really showcased the angst, and my heart was breaking at times. So I'll admit, I'm not a huge fan of special appearances in audiobooks, especially when you have such talented narrators cast, however, I should have known Lauren wouldn't lead me astray. It worked perfectly having Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon pop in to narrate some of the chapters. It really added to the feel of the story. Who knew Teddy could be such a sleaze bag? And Erin's memoirs chapters really added to the overall feel of the book.

This is the start of a trilogy. Books must be listened to in order.

I loved, loved, loved Big Ben.
This is my first Nana Malone book and wow, what a book to start with. I am loving it. I was laughing out loud in the first chapter. There are many laugh of loud moments, but equally as much suspense. The sexual tension is off the charts, and I love that it built throughout the story. I couldn't listen fast enough, I kept sneaking off to find time alone just so I could keep listening. I have so many questions, I'm intrigued by some of the other characters and what is going to happen next. Mama's writing is captivating, and she has created a world that I cannot wait to spend more time in.

For me, the Britishness was done really well, I'm really picky but it didn't feel over done with the exception of one word, but I think that is more a personal taste thing than anything else.

It's performed by Shane East and Mari. Shane East was his delectable self. Everything you've come to know and love about his performances are showcased in this production. There is a reason he's dubbed as the aural king of all things British. He is Ben Covington, he plays the rich, flirty, cocky gent so well. Mari is new to me, and I'm liking what I'm hearing so far. She has a nice tone and delivered the emotions of the character wonderfully. I think having to not only use an accent but voice the opposite sex at the same time can be difficult (I know I couldn't do it) so there were some instances were I thought a duet narration might have worked better but overall it was well done. Generally, their voices complemented each other and it was a solid performance.

This is the start of a trilogy, so I'm kicking myself a little as I didn't realise that when I pressed play, even though it's listed as sure on the product page...parent brain strikes again. Once I found out, I was too hooked to stop and wait for the others to release. Anything that can hook me this much is worth the wait for the ending.
A must listen. If you haven't used a credit on this baby yet, do it! Or, if you already own the eBook, it has whispersynced.

It's not often that I listen to a book in a day, I just don't have the time these days, but once I started The Yes Factor, I didn't want to put it down, so I didn't.

Erin Spencer and Emma Sable have crafted a brilliantly charming and witty story of friendship and the woes of dating in the modern world. As I listened, it was hard to believe that this was a debut novel, it felt like they had been writing together for a long time. Their writing is cohesive, and they tell such a fun, feel good story.

I liked that this book had characters that were my age, I'm not usually bothered by things like that, but it felt refreshing and gave a whole different dynamic to the thoughts and feelings of the characters. The dating mishaps were hilarious, and I'll admit, made me grateful not to be on the dating scene.

What I loved the most about this story was how the friendship was written. The bond of friendship is strong even from miles away. Friends fight and they make up. They keep things from one another and eventually spill their secrets when the time is right. And that is captured so perfectly throughout this story. Bex and Olivia are fantastic, I cheered with them. I commiserated with them. I laughed with them. And I wanted to go pour a glass of bourbon and hang out with them too.

Ava Erickson and Andi Arndt performed this book to perfection. Now, it's no secret that I love both of their voices. Talk about girl crush. Up until today, I had never heard them together and it was such a joy. Their voices complemented each other, and I need more. Hearing these two amazing women perform a story of friendship was beautiful, they both nailed the emotion and the humour of the scenes, so much so that it seemed effortless. Credit worthy for sure.

I really hope there is going to be another book because I need more. This book most definitely has The Yes Factor.

This is Sophie Blue's debut novel and it is an enjoyable, quick, fun read. I liked the witty banter between the characters. It deals with a subject that I think is close to a lot of people's hearts, weight and how we see ourselves. I thought it was handled really well, hat tip to Sophie for treating the subject tenderly whilst delivering the message that everyone is deserving of love.

Liam and Chloe are so cute together. Their attraction is instant, watching them fall in love was heart melting and the conflict is easily and quickly resolved, I actually liked that because it shows that a little communication can go a long way. I would have liked it to be a little longer, but that's the joy of a good book.

I felt some things were a little repetitive and that was noticeable, especially in a short book. However, it didn't detract from the story enough to damage it. I will definitely be preordering Kyle's book. I'm intrigued by him, for sure.

This book is the three S's - short, sexy, and sweet. It is such a fun read. Two sexy guys, one sweet, sexually adventurous girl. Put them together during a pandemic and things are bound to go from ‘hi' to ‘oh my' in no time. And they do, and it is the delicious.

If you've never read anything by J.L. Beck and C. Hallman this is the perfect introduction to their writing. It's a complete standalone.

Coming soon!

Oh. My. Days. What a book. What a story. What a cover. What a couple. I just don't have the words to do it justice, any of it. So, I'm just going to try and put into words how I felt.

It's rare that I'll buy a book based solely on the cover, but as soon as I saw this cover, I knew I had to have it. It screams masculinity and vulnerability and love, and I needed it in my life.

I don't think I have been so moved and so captivated by an MM story since listening to Him by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy. This book takes you on a wild, angst-filled ride of epic proportions. I was not ready for the level of emotion. These characters are suffering so much. I just wanted to wrap them in my arms and tell them everything would get better. I loved that this story focused on the journey they were going through, both were at such different stages of their life, yet drawn together by a unifying force. Their grief was so heartbreaking and watching each of them struggle through and grow, coming out the other side, was simply beautiful. The chemistry between them was off the charts and the way Marley incorporated the push and pull of emotions and how they interacted in those moments was truly wonderful. Add in the insecurities and family dynamics and it was pure perfection.

Overall, it's a story of following your heart and accepting what you can and can't change. Doing what makes you happy and finding and keeping love. Even in the most unexpected places. I laughed. I cried. My heart hurt and it soared with happiness. I experienced so many emotions reading this story, but every one of those emotions was worth it to get to their HEA. As a side note, the final chapter just about gutted me.

This was my first Marley Valentine book, but it will not be my last. A definite must read. I cannot wait for the audiobook so I can torture myself all over again lol.
