I understand why some people do not like this book. It is graphic, but the world James has created is so unique and unlike anything I have ever read. I'm happy I gave this a chance and plan to continue the series.

Far less traumatic than A Little Life and beautifully written.

Very quick read. Written in such an original and enjoyable way. I would recommend the comic The Good Asian to anyone who likes this book.

3.5- VanderMeer books have become comfort reads for me. I appreciate the way he describes nature and incorporates it into his stories.

3.5- Felt very Fellowship of the Ring inspired. I enjoyed the journey and overall message.

Really connected with Moreno's portrayal of grief. This is a very quick read with just enough spookiness.

I really enjoyed the first two pov's but then the story fell off for me. I felt like I didn't know Holly by the time it came back around to her and I found myself not really caring about the story. Any easy enough read but didn't pull me in like I had hoped.

I find myself still thinking about this book even though I finished it weeks ago. I'm shocked how many readers found it boring and slow. Tartt had me fully immersed in this world and I thoroughly enjoyed following along on Harriett's day to day adventures.

This series is really doing it for me. The character development, political maneuvering, and fantasy elements are all done so well. I'm looking forward to reading Jade Legacy.

I couldn't put this book down. When not reading I was constantly thinking about the characters. I thoroughly enjoyed the world Fonda Lee has created and I am excited for it to expand in the next book.
