I did enjoy this book, but felt it was too predictable, and in some ways a bit silly. Pucarda actions, disobeying orders etc, how many time can you roll that out without someone sacking him? Despite this I did enjoy it. Illogical captain but true.

The conversation with Janeway was one of the weakest points of the book for me. The biggest threat to the Federation turns up and you spend a minute talking about it. Either Picard is mad, in which case theres no harm him going to investigate, or relieve him of command. Or he's right in which case by the time 7 turns up it will be too late to stop them. The decision Janeway made was purely so Picard could disobey her and not at all what she would have done. She had no choice but let him investigate or relieve him of command. Despite this it's still a fun book, though entirely predictable.
I quite enjoyed this final installment - more a 3.5 than a 4 for me, but that's maybe due to my age and fading brain power! I struggled at times to remember who everyone was in which timeline and what they were up to! A bit of an anticlimatical finish too in some ways, leaving some questions unanswered like TV series do sometimes meaning another book may appear later. Not sure I'll read it if it does though. Enjoyable series, but not 5*.
This is far better than the first book, which I found a bit dull and slow. I'm glad I got the series now and am looking forward to book 3. I liked the historical scenes being linked in but did find the plot a bit timey whimey as the Doctor might say and occasionally a bit hard for this ageing brain to keep up with.
This was not a bad book. Quite an intricate web of time travel - which was one of the good parts of the book - but slow, a bit predictable in a TV show sort of way “It's important you do this” ok I'll do the opposite, which I never like much in a plot and of course the elephant in the room, it's not St Mary's, which of course is hugely unfair, but if you've read Jodi Taylor's series then you'll understand and if you haven't then get on with it now! Again, in TV comparisons this is like The Original Battlestar series to Star Wars. I like them both, but one was brilliant.
I enjoyed this book more than number 2. The plot is great and the heroes are so believable, full of flaws and doubts, rivalries and even hate. My only slight dislike is the fights with Falcio, the trouble with these is you know he will win, so they aren't really that exciting. I'd be happier if there was less of the fighting and more of his little grey cells putting he peices together and banter with the other Greatcoats. Still, excellent book.
Great characters - they feel like real people, flawed and scared, not like the action hero in films. Ther plot twists and turns and throws a few surprises and the way it makes good people help bad is clever and well done. I thought the booke wasn't as good as the first, but still enjoyable though a bit long.
This is a good series of books which overall I enjoyed but I enjoyed the last one the least. The star trek characters are well written and the plot is clever though its conclusion left me feeling a bit let down. Obviously you know the baddy loses and the ST cahracters all live happily ever after, but it just felt a bit flat. Worth reading, but could easily have been just the 2 books not 3.
This could have been written by ChatGPT with instructions to write a Roland Emerich style pandemic book. The characters are stereotypes, the plot daft and the characters can one minute be at deaths door and having to be carried then next thing you know they're wading through a fire with a person on their back. I found it quite ridiculous. Probably rhe worst book I've read in a long time. And soooo long.
