Rina did it again. Plot twist after plot twist where I never know where the plot is going to go but I absolutely love the direction it's heading in. Absolutely adore Kirill and Sasha and the writing
DNF 46%. The FMC's name is weird, the writing wasn't engaging, neither of the MCs were that likeable and I wasn't feeling any chemistry. I just got bored reading
I liked the smut in lemonade but didn't like any of the FMC's family members or the plot direction.
In this book I didn't care about anyone in fhe book or the plot - I was bored reading it. There is a good jealousy scene about 35% of the book but that's all I liked about it. DNF 37%
The writing was good but wasn't a fan of the main couple and plot. I liked the couple enough that I rooted for them but I can't say I liked either of them and I wasn't that invested in their story. The male lead wasn't my type of non-human - didn't find him swoon worthy
It took me about 20% to get into the book - when Raiden was locked in the dungeon I was cooked. The chemistry between Audra/Raiden and Audra/Zad was so good I was constantly guessing who would end up with the FMC and if it'd be poly, though I thought Audra and Raiden had the best chemistry. The way the author wrote the last 20% though just seemed abrupt and convenient for Audra and Zad to end up together. Raiden hooking up with Eline and suddenly doesn't have feelings for Audra anymore after finding out Audra and Zad are linked just seemed so out of character and it killed my interest in the book.
The plot twist with Raiden and Nova having set up the marriage completely blew my mind. I just really hated the way the Audra/Zad/Raiden triangle was resolved though
It had promise but it couldn't hold my attention. I really liked how cleverly the roles of the greek gods, the thirteen, were integrated in modern society in the plot. I was totally digging the independent heroine who was ambushed by her power-hungry mother into marrying the powerful Zeus, only for her to run off into Hades's territory.
Hades was too tame for my liking and I found myself disinterested in the plot. He was the cliche misunderstood not-villain with a ‘tragic backstory'. Although I did like all the scenes where he's so obsessed with taking care of her - the amount of times he carried the female lead? Dug it. DNF 50%
DNF 39%. The first chapter was interesting with the backstory of how the FMC and MMC first met but after that I was bored. I didn't care about the FMC, MMC or the plot. I wasn't seeing any chemistry between the leads either. It was an issue of triggers, nothing bothered me in this, I was just bored
A really great book, with some plot twists and I still love the MMC. The only thing I didn't like was a miscommuncation issue that the FMC left dangling until 50% of the book when she knew it would cause an issue sooner or later. But it was resolved quite quickly. I also felt the writing wasn't as polished as the other two books. The ending was almost too convenient and concluded too easily. But I loved this series overall and a good happily ever after
This book DELIVERED. The plot twists and how unpredictable the whole direction is. Then the chemsitry between the FMC and MMC. <3
This book gave me the ick, couldn't feel chemistry between the FMC and MMC though I was interested in the first 5%?
The amount of comparisons between FMC and her sister really put a damper on the romance... it just felt wrong...
There is also some daddy kink and BDSM
Disappointed, dnf 30%. I couldn't get into the FMC or MMC - didn't find either of them likeable. A lot of Japanese stereotyping in this book, I'm guessing Naomi's father is linked to the Japanese mafia but there was just too much of it. No chemistry between Naomi and Sebastian. And the plot about the MMC sleeping with the FMC for a bet is just so cliche I can already imagine how it's going to go.
It's a shame because I did see this duet recommended online and I adored most other rina Kent books
This was almost a 4 star at the start. Omg I really liked Dimitri, the insta lust, how obsessed he was with the FMC from the start, how possessive he was and he'd kill absolutely anything that'd get in the way between him and the FMC. I also loved the forced marriage and how manipulative he is. The FMC was ok, likeable enough.
And the kiss scene in Ch2??? That was so hot.
Some of the smut was also good but some of it was cringe, especially some of the dialogue.
I absolutely hated the FMC's family. They were really annoying and ultimately resulted in my DNF at 70% and then I skipped to 89% where there was the big reveal which I liked. I also didn't like Dimitri's tragic backstory, it was unnecessary and dragged the plot
I loved this so much better than The Master and The Professional
Loved the story and the main couple - it was really cute. I am torn between 3 or 4 stars because I didn't quite get all of the nerdy jokes and the writing was harder to follow. The story was slower at the beginning but it all really picked up after the male lead confessed his feelings and chased the female lead in the snow. From then on the story was so good. I enjoyed the third act breakup but I do wish the arc dragged a little more. I also wish we got to see more of the main couple's happily ever after after the breakup as well. The ending felt really abrupt. Smut was also good.
I was torn on 2 or 3 stars for this one. The two MCs were likeable enough, they had chemistry but it was missing something plot wise or trope wise that really made me think I like this book. The plot didn't keep me on the edge of my seat.
Levi was possessive, jealous but the whole book was less steamy than I thought and Levi wasn't as dark as I'd like.
I didn't see the Jasmine/lord Clifton/Victoria direction to head the way it did and I was pleasantly surprised
I read Nicole and Daniel's story first and they weren't likeable. Daniel was more likeable in this story but wow, Nicole is even worse in this. The redemption arc and her and Daniel's arc seems forced even in this book
I liked it well enough - the writing was engaging and the two MCs had enough chemistry I was invested in their romance story. I really liked how possessive and jealous the MMC was of the FMC. The plot about the FMC's father was quite different, didn't expect that, but it wasn't a direction I particularly liked.
This book is not as dark as expected and I liked it. There was good chemistry between the two MCs, the writing engaging and the plot decent - it did drag slightly around the 80% mark. And the side plot with Gigi was a bit too predictable for me.
Note: just started the second book and boy, it gets REALLY dark. Too dark.
This book was a bit slow at time but overall, it was an enjoyable story. I can see why it's a favorite - Rhys Winterbourne is so swoonworthy being so obsessed over Helen, where he just couldn't get enough of her
It really picked up for me once Helen met her biological father. The angst when she decided she couldn't marry Rhys and then the scene where Rhys found her and said he'd find her even if she went to France were my favorite.
I'm not the biggest fan of adopted child but though I didn't love it, it worked okay in this story
A second chance dark romance.
What the female lead goes through in this book is horrible and the male lead doesn't deserve her. I finally couldn't take the plot anymore and DNF at 82% jumping to the epilogues.
I was still torn or 1 or 2 stars but the epilogue solidified 1 star. The Victor arc is still unsolved and it didn't even end with a happy scene of the main couple together though I'm glad it ended with another chance at pregnancy
The plot and romance in this one was really good. I enjoyed this a lot better than the first book though I did enjoy seeing the developments of the FMC and MMC in the first and can see myself rereading both books of this duet. Unfortunately not all plot lines were resolved at the end of this book but it was still a satisfying enough HEA
The plot of this book was enthralling and is the key for 5 stars even though it had less romance than my typical 5 star reads. I just did not see any of the plot developments coming and I really felt for the FMC especially as she dealt with love, heartbreak, betrayal and grief. I really liked both MCs and their love in this book and can see myself rereading though Missha annoyed me in both books
This book was fine - I really liked the forbidden love aspect and the friendship between the FMC and the MMC's son There was a lot of untranslated Italian which really disrupted flow where I had to constantly look up what it meant. I can't explain what was missing in this book, perhaps the writing style isn't for me. The two MCs certainly had chemistry and I was rooting for them.
I wanted to like this looking for a smutty rh breeding book but the was actually really difficult to follow and I lost interest. DNF 30%
It was good but I just felt the whole thing dragged. So many times from 30% onwards I was tempted to DNF but I kept at it. Thank goodness because I actually am really looking forward to book 2. It looks like it's when the dark romance will begin
