This book really surprised me. I did not expect the plot to go in this direction. But overall it wasn't super original. I know, my thoughts on this book are confusing (like my thoughts on every book tbh), but i liked it and at the same time sometimes thought that this story had no point.
As always I wanted to be one of the people who loved this book, but it didn't happen. This wasn't for me at all. It was boring and didn't make any sense. When I finished the book the first thing I thought was “So what?”, and it's not a good sign. I really don't understand the point of this story, especially with such unlikable characters.

It's such a sweet love story, I can't. I still liked the first book more than this one, just because Taboo For You is literally everything I love about romance novels.
But still. Jack and Ben, having a storyline I'm not usually a fan of, owned my heart. This couple is so strong!! I smiled the whole time reading about them.
Although this one is my least favourite in the series, it's still SO SO SO good. I love these characters so much. I understand that some people are frustrated with Lucy because of her behaviour, but... I think it's very realistic. She's not perfect and she's just a teenage girl after all. I can't wait to read the next book to be back in this world again!
I mean... It was alright, but not at all what I expected. I thought that there would be more action and conspiracy. But 80% of the book was about teenage drama and Reese not being able to choose between Amber and David. I actually quite enjoyed this aspect of the book. The characters were interesting to follow and I will always remember them as my dumb babies. I'm kinda glad I finished this series.
It fucked me up.
Ok, I know it's kind of a slave fic, and everybody should know it, going into this book. But me and this book just... clicked. Yes, it's problematic in a way. At the same time, it makes you think, it makes you sympathize with the characters you don't want to sympathize with. To put it simply, it made me really emotional.
I know I have an unpopular opinion once again, but hear me out. This book wasn't bad. I'm sure there are people who will enjoy it. I just wasn't one of them. The biggest problem of this book, in my opinion, was the main character. God, was she annoying. I get that she didn't have the best childhood, to put it nicely. But there's just no reason to treat people around her like that. She always ignored people who tried to help her or wanted to hang out with her. And I can't stand people who think that their taste in books is superior to others'. Nina is one of them.
“She looked up at him.
“Do you read books?”
He frowned. “Sure. Occasionally.”
“Good books?”
“Well, books I think are good.”
“Have you read Jane Austen?”
“No.”
“Kurt Vonnegut?”
“No.”
“Truman Capote?”
“No.”
His face was blank, but she could see he was getting vaguely irritated by this line of questioning.”
Come on... I would ignore a person if they told me something like that. I guess we should crown Tom for being so patient with her. And for carrying the entire book on his shoulders, it must be hard.
Also, the synopsis made me think that we will see Nina communicating with her family A LOT. Guess I was fooled, it's fine.
I received the digital arc from Edelweiss+ in exchange for an honest review.
