Loved the characters and world but the meandering pace made it a little difficult for me to stay engaged.

Superb characters and relationships. Great horror atmosphere. 10/10

I almost DNF this one, but I saw that the audiobook was narrated by Michael Ferraiouolo so I tried that. The audiobook brings humor in this book to life in a way that was surprising and incredible. I'm not making my way through book 2 because of it.

In this case, the audiobook beat out my internal voice and I'm glad it did.

Love the two main characters and how they interact with each other. The audiobook is great too. Great character voices from the narrator.

I love the relationship between Grace and Rocky. I know the science is kind of the point, but it wasn't my cup of tea. But the glimpses of the friendship between the science was delightful.

It's a testament to how engaging the characters are, how good the story is  and the quality of the prose that I stuck with it because love triangle is my least favorite trope.

Solid book, probably wouldn't re-read but I love seeing how these characters develop.

Solid read. The characters are fun.

Solid book, feels a bit rushed. Great for a debut novel.

A great murder mystery and I'm a sucker for a little guy character.

The characters were really endearing. I really enjoyed this one.

I like the characters but the story felt meandering and slow at times.

Just amazing storytelling and characterizations. The narration is brilliant too.

I love the relationship between the characters. The geopolitics took me out of it somewhat though.

Good for a younger audience. Would have benefited from more world building.

It was good but I ended up skimming the slow parts and I wouldn't reread it.

Cute but not really my cup of tea. Characters never clicked for me.

Wonderful story about surviving with grief.

I liked it but probably won't reread it.

Learned a lot.
