Vauhdikasta menoa. Suosittelen, vaan kannattaa lukaista [b:Operaatio Troijalainen 13413700 Operaatio Troijalainen Christian Rönnbacka http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1326626524s/13413700.jpg 18698414] ensin.

Very thorough explanation of how RAW photo development is done with Lightroom, Camera Raw and Photoshop. The author is clearly a professional.

A colourful, vivid description of the Ragnarök myth of how the gods fall. Interesting, but kind of distant and hard to relate to.

African railroad workers in Senegal go on a strike in 1947. The white powers expect a quick strike, but the Africans persist and the strike lasts until 1948, and the colonials must give in to the striking workers. The book is a description of the events, by an author who lived through the strike himself.

A quick read, interesting story based on real life story of the Collyer brothers, though with major liberties taken on historical details. Interesting curiousity of a story, and a nice overview of a century in American life.

A curious book. Clever plot, interesting views on philosophy, morals, business ethics and whatnot. Unusual. Charming.

Kaunis valokuvateos revontulista. Jorma Luhta on taitava kuvaaja ja oiva kirjoittaja. Revontulista ja pohjoisen luonnon kauneudesta kiinnostuneille.

Gorgeous world-building, all sorts of good stuff with the sci-fi soviet noir setting, but — and this is a huge but — there's simply no ending to the book. None. The book ends like a chapter ends. No closure whatsoever. Obviously sequel is in works, and hopefully arrives soon, because this book doesn't stand alone. I recommend waiting until a sequel is out before reading this one... I was very disappointed in the ending, but the storyso far is promising.

Impressive! The history of Congo is an interesting story of colonialism, post-colonialism and the new era of Chinese-African relations. Congo has been the African focal point of many historical turns and twists. This book does a great job summarizing what's been happening in this country that is relatively unknown considering how important it has been.

Tunnelmallinen kuvaus elämästä Romanian maaseudulla.

Korkeakirjallista tavaraa. Tarttumapinta paikoin hakusessa, mutta kokoelmaan mahtui muutama oikein oivallinen novelli.

Jännä nuortentrilleri. Plussaa sijoittumisesta Tampereelle. Kaunis kirja. Mukavan nopealukuinen.

Another very strong book from Guy Gavriel Kay. A man is given an extraordinary gift; a gift of deadly proportions. He is suddenly of interest to everybody in a major empire. Kay's interpretation of an old Chinese empire is interesting, and quite unlike the usual fantasy empires. Another top-notch novel.

A gloomy dystopian future set in Egypt. I read this for country challenge, and found the story worth reading.

Hannu Rajaniemi continues writing strong novels. The text flies high and getting it all is a bit of a challenge; but it is a good ride nevertheless. There's a cool, subtle XKCD reference in the book; I found that hilarious.

A goofy story, with some plot holes, perhaps, but it's a light read and intriguing enough to follow the story as it unfolds.

Nainen hiipii yhteiskunnan laidoilla ja ulkopuolella. Mielenkiintoinen kuvaus yhteiskunnan laidalle itsensä asemoivasta ihmisestä, yhdenlainen veijaritarina tämäkin.

My first McEwan. The depiction of 1970s England was interesting; my mother used to live in London for a while in 1970s, so it was interesting because of that. I'm also interested in intelligence organizations, so the depiction of the MI5 was good, too. The book was more about books than secret agents, though. Not bad, not bad at all.

Kehitysvammainen Charlie operoidaan neroksi, mutta eihän se niin yksinkertaista ole. Scifi-klassikko, eikä suotta.

Lovely and charming, quite like the first book (The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making). Read that one first and if you enjoy it, continue here. You'll enjoy this one, too.

Outoja, absurdeja tarinoita. Osa meni reippaasti yli, osa taas viihdytti huolella. Tutustumisen arvoinen, mutta ei kyllä istu joka makuun.

Read for country challenge, and because Mo Yan won the Nobel. An interesting book, too, on topic I don't really know much about.

A classic I've read first time years ago. Now it was time to read it for my son, who loves fantasy. I wanted to make sure his diet contains more than just Tolkien. This is still excellent, deep book. Ged is a wonderful hero.

Political intrigue as an epistolary novel. That's quite unusual. Interesting, the story develops and comes up with all sorts of twists and turns before the end.
