I really wanted to like this book, but there was just too many characters to keep track of. The story was a bit overdone. I should have known with the glossary at the beginning of the book. This one just didn't hold my attention.

The characters in this book didn't invoke any emotional response from me. I just didn't care about the story or the characters. 2.5 stars.

Stopped caring at 200 pages. I love slow-burn fantasies, but this one wasn't for me.

The way people talked about this book on YouTube made me want to read it. It was okay. I thought Marra was so immature for her age. She acted too much on her “feelings” when making decisions. She never quite understood that her actions have consequences. The bright side of this book is Bonedog. Overall, an average book at best. 3 stars.

Got this in a Fairyloot box and decided to give it a try since it was one of the Goodreads finalists. At first, I wasn't impressed. By the time I got about 100 pages in, I was enjoying it. Granted, it is a basic YA fantasy/romance...nothing new or spectacular. It was a lot of fun to read, though. I will probably pick up the sequel when it releases. 4 stars.

A highly addicting space opera. I forgot how much I love this type of sci-fi. So much fun to read.

This might not have been the best book I've ever read, but it was a lot of fun. It deserves 5 stars for keeping me interested, which is hard to do these days. Lets see if the rest of the series will do the same.

I'm saddened that I have to end my Witchlands journey here. This book didn't have the same feel and flow of the earlier books in the series. I felt no desire or care to pick this book up and finish it. DNF'ed after 100 pages and now it is time to move on.

2.5 stars. I'm so disappointed! I wanted to like this book. It was so boring! I have a lot of books on my TBR and I need to DNF books more often than I do. I admit, I thought it would get better...but I was wrong. The romance was so unbelievable. I had to skim through the last 50 pages because I just stopped caring. Not sure if I will pick up “The Starless Sea”. Only time will tell...

I really enjoyed The Illumine Files by Kristoff & Kaufman, but this one was a miss for me. Too many of the basic tropes. I just couldn't get into it. This is one I might audiobook at a later date.

I wanted a thriller and all I got was a boring lesson on mountaineering. Yawn.

I was excited to read this. I'm not a big fan of “horror” but the concept sounded good. This book is full of just awful, unlikable characters. I didn't like how the POV of the story would change after every paragraph. I don't mind different POVs if they are transitioned and separated by chapters...not paragraphs in the same chapter. It ruins the flow of the book, in my opinion. Unfortunately, this was a miss for me.

This book had so much potential that was wasted on a weak ending. I feel duped. I gave it 3 stars because I actually enjoyed 80% of the story.

I was having a good time reading this book, right up to the end. The ending seemed rushed and predictable. It was just okay.

This book was really hard for me to get into. The writing style is very lyrical, which I am not used to. Once I got used to the writing style, I really enjoyed the book.

The writing was too young for my liking. The story just wasn't interesting.

Did not like the writing style of this book. All the characters were unlikable. It's sad because I was really looking forward to this book.

This book is very disturbing, but I really enjoyed it. I pretty much read it in one sitting. It was hard to put down.

2.5 stars. The world-building was okay. The plot was weak, at best. The characters were okay, but Larken was too childish for my taste. I don't mind a good YA fantasy if it was written well. This one was too boring for me.

I hated this book. Another anticipated read that made my eyes roll throughout. I am going to have to think twice before picking up another Lucy Foley book. All of them were just okay to plain bad. Sad face.

I haven't given a one star in a long time. This book was just awful. The characters are horrible and unlikeable. The writer must have a hatred of small towns and Christian families, because her portrayal of them is just despicable. I don't consider myself religious, but using Christianity to display characters the way she did is a bit offensive. I love a good thriller /mystery, but this one is a miss for me. It's sad, but I was actually looking forward to reading this. Huge disappointment.

I'm usually not a fan of contemporary romances (especially YA), but this one was absolutely adorable. Loved it from beginning to end. Very heartwarming.

This one I had to skim through to get to the gist of the story. I actually enjoyed “The Shadows” a little better.

This book was a lot of fun to read. The mixed media was an interesting experience. I didn't think I would like it and was expecting the mixed media to be a distraction, but it flowed pretty nicely. It had a good amount of humor. Fun read.

Pleasantly surprised by this book. I didn't think it would be a book I would enjoy, but it kept me captivated throughout. This book did not get the hype as others, which is a good thing. To me, it was a sleeper hit.
