This book is the first Brandon Sanderson I read. I was intimidated at first (600 pages), but I quickly fell in love with the story. Yes, there are a lot of characters to keep track of, which got easier to do as the book went on. Sanderson goes into depth explaining the story's magic system and is talented at character building. I actually read this slowly to fully absorb this world. Overall, this book was a 5 star read for me. I will pick up the sequel whenever it is released, which won't be for awhile.
This was a fun read about a magical “game” that takes place for 5 days. The story was full of mystery, magic, and romance. Scarlett and Julian's “ relationship “ was intriguing and my favorite part of the book. It was a blast following them around Caraval, trying to figure out the “game”. Great book!
Enchanting story that I kept thinking about after I put it down. The writing was so atmospheric that I could almost feel the environment of the story as I was reading it. Even though the characters were flawed, it was easy to become invested in their story. I can't wait for the sequel because the story ends with no real conclusion. Loved it!
Ok, it took the third book in this series to hook me in. This book was by far the best of the Charlotte Holmes series that I read. I usually don't like books that are written in 2 different perspectives (Holmes & Watson pretty much every other chapter), but for this story it just happens to work. A fun read from beginning to end.
This was, by far, my favorite of all the Disney Twisted Tales I have read. The story captured me from beginning to end. What if Cinderella never tried on the glass slipper? Well, it would have caused her to go on a grand adventure to reunite with her true love. Elizabeth Lim hit this out of the park. Loved it!
