This was the first Karin Slaughter book I have read and I was excited about it. Unfortunately, this story didn't do it for me. I like a good mystery/police serial, but to capture me, there has to be a strong protagonist. Will Trent was not that. To me, he was the typical Beta male who was pining over his abusive and manipulative soon-to-be ex-wife...who also happens to be a criminal. I was waiting for him to “grow a pair”, which didn't happen until about 400 pages in. Definitely disappointing. I might try one of Slaughter's other books in the future, just not one involving Will Trent.
I thought this book would be more interesting than it was. The concept was good. I thought I would find the war between the Red's and the Silver's to be fascinating. Mare, the protagonist, was a little annoying and made too many dumb decisions. Overall, the book was okay. I have a feeling I will be too annoyed to read the rest of the series, so I think I will skip it.

This book kept be interested until the end. Overall a good serial killer mystery/ thriller. This book does touch upon some sensitive subjects such as rape, emotional and physical abuse. The protagonist made some stupid and immoral decisions and the writer slipped in her political leanings near the end...which was slightly annoying. Overall a decent read.
I know this is a 90s vampire book, but it has been awhile since I picked up a vampire book that I thought I would give this one a try. Again, it seems a little young for me (15 year old me would have loved this book). It was a fast and easy read, but enjoyable. I love the fact that it was a pretty short book (238 pages). It kept me interested the entire time. I might pick up the next book in the series sometime in the future.
This was a recommendation on BookTube and I thought I would give it a try. I have been trying to find some good mangas to read and recommend to others. This book is definately not what I expected. I thought it would be a cute story, but it turned into something dark. I actually enjoyed the unexpectedness of the book. I want to know what happens so I will pick up the rest of the series.
