I really enjoy Elizabeth's writing and how she does contemporary romance.
I wish more had been done about Lucie's ex and the way he spoke to her????
And Lucie having a crush/being in love with Caleb since she was 6, but we just barely got a glance at that.
Caleb redeemed himself when it came time, and the twins were cute as hell.
A wonderful sapphic romance!
The piningggggg. Caroline pined for Hannah so hard. She was so good with Abbie, and the relationship between them was really solid. Caroline and Hannah started as lawyer/client but the friendship grew. I liked watching them grow comfortable with each other, even though Caroline obviously wanted more.
Miles!!!!!! I have been patiently waiting for his story and it delivered.
He's known as the problem brother, but past the surface there's more to him. We see him with ADHD (medicated!) and sober. He's growing up but still his goofy loving self.
Daisy is the dark and grumpy to his bright sunshine. They fake date to help get her business contacts to get her charcuterie/cupcake business growing but he falls HARD.
Really love this series and Julia wolf's writing. It's fun and light hearted.
The foot thing caught me off guard but like I was surprisingly into it??
Heart breaking and devastating don't even begin to cover it. I don't think I stopped crying the entire book. Joey and Aoife are tragic and beautiful. I loved how much she stood by Joe, her ride or die. Joey deserves all the love and patience in the world.
It was nice to see events that happened in Shannon and Johnny's books again, but from Joey's perspective.
And getting the glimpse of Gibsie and Mr and Mrs Kav... love that banter and love between them.
This was dark, and a lil crazy.
The author writes that the MMC isn't morally grey, he is all bad, but I kind of disagree.
Like yes he's bad but he has his moments I suppose.
Generally speaking it was a decent dark mafia romance, the plot was unhinged but I was bored at times.
The MMC had dirty talk and that's fine but he called the FMC a sl*t a LOT. Which again; if you're into it that's fine. It just felt slightly too much for me.
DNF @ 60%.
It was all smut no character development. Which can be totally fine but I didn't like this story at all.
There was nothing except sex and it being shameful as she was raised catholic.
Should have known when a 22 year old calls her parents “mummy and daddy” non ironically.
Completely bored and didn't want to waste my time further
“It was fake. But it felt real.”
“I feel like I've been lost all my life until now—and somehow with you I'm just ... found.”
This was so fun. Hannah was insecure so she didn't really trust that Jack was being truthful. I mean they were fake dating so it makes sense but it felt REAL. I even felt it.
Very good!
Hooked from page 1. This was heartfelt, angst, sweet, spicy.
They have a whirlwind romance in paradise. It's new. It's exciting, full of love. But things are going too well so obviously something must go wrong??
They both just loved each other so much. Almost too much. But Noel was scared and Wyatt layed his heart on his sleeve which freaked Noel out. He isn't good enough for him blah blah
He ran, both were miserable for weeks and months until Noel's job brought him back to Wyatt's farm.
They start back up again slower and want to do it right.
I think it was perfect. Their week in Mexico was fun and exciting but being in the real world isn't always like that. They lived on opposite ends of the country and were in opposite jobs and personality.
The passion was there but they took the time to be patient and get to know each other.
A perfect sequel to Heated Rivalry, and and to the series.
This was emotional as hell, full of the good angst and tension.
I love and adore Ilya. He's outgoing and funny, and loves Shane so so deeply. I love that he calls him random Russian nouns to test him almost. “I love you lawnmower, tomato, etc”.
I loved Ilya for going to therapy, he stole the show for me. Him loving on the puppies was adorable. There was some timeline crossover in this from previous books, but we see it from their POV.
Loved this. So much tension and angst!!!! Troy isn't out, but he is tired of hiding. He finds comfort and peace with his new team's social media manager Harris.
Harris is out and proud, and Troy wants to be someone that is deserving of him.
Troy's growth from being obnoxious and rude to being truthful to himself and others, I feel proud of him.
Absolutely brilliantly done pregnancy romance.
Both Cass and Chase/Red were well thought out and had excellent depth and growth.
Cassidy was super authentic and yes she was scared but she was honest with herself when she knew she needed time and space to think. And also knew when she had to swallow her pride and go to Chase.
Chase is the same. He knew what his dad was like and in order to not be that guy, he knew what to do in order to step up and be the person worthy of his girls. Him growing and becoming a dad and partner for Cassidy was wonderful to watch.
Their little spud
“I love you, Sloane Kensington. Always and forever.”
“Forever is a long time.”
“Not long enough.”
EASILY A NEW FAVOURITE.
I adore Xavier. He's a charming golden retriever to Sloane's grumpy black cat energy.
Sloane has always been snarky and easily judged as an ice queen, but Xavier sees more than meets the eye. Once he knows her and starts to get past her guard; he sees her true self and loves it.
It had everything I wanted in Sloane's story and more. I loved the drama, the revenge, personal growth, the romance...
I will defend the grumpy queen for ever. There's just something about how Xavier doesn't care about anything but then we see he really only cares about her.
