I liked the childhood crush, to enemies, to fake engagement and FWB, to more. Rhyland was a good character. Dylan and her daughter (I refuse to use the dumb name for the child lol) were struggling but sweet and generally unproblematic.
Overall every main character was GOOD, I just was not intrigued. It was fine, I just wasn’t terribly obsessed.
Honestly very fun and cheesy.
Cal is a demon, and Oscar is a cute lil human with a past abusive relationship. Cal is extremely overprotective of him, and instantly feels himself called toward Oscar. He gives Oscar his “mark” making him his.
The “suspenseful” sub-plot was a little bland, but I enjoyed getting to know Cal and his brothers.
I loved Daniel and Josie! This felt a little long, and by the end a little repetitive but I couldn’t say what part needed to be cut so it was all necessary.
The first half was lots of charm and snark, the last like third I want to say was a lot of emotional talking and sharing feelings.
I liked how both Danny and Josie were grieving but completely differently. Danny was masking with smiles and doing everything for others, Josie shut people out and kept to herself.
The sweetest and most charming MMM romance
I love Spencer, the sweetest touch starved golden retriever pumpkin pie who must be protected at all cost.
Ash and Ryder were already somewhat established but having Spencer part of their little circle made them complete, and it was the missing piece nobody knew was missing
Is Story naive or delusional?
She crushed on Nickel since high school, and he very much was “no thank you” about it. She was underage and he had his own anger issues so he wasn’t into it.
I think every character gave nickel a lot of grace and excuses for his behaviour. Was he a decent person deep deep deep down, yes. But it was still a bit much, and despite everything and everyone telling her not to, Story still held a candle for him.
Considering all of the past and current trauma, this was low drama and low angst, a super slow burn, but oh so satisfying.
Nero has a past he doesn’t want to open up about. I think he feels if he opens up people will leave. They’ll say “oh that’s why he’s this way” and go. Or that he will have nothing left to give, when he spends all of his time giving food and more to these other people.
Lenny is hiding from a stalker, and seeks refuge in Nero’s apartment. Cass Jake and Tom from the previous book are very prominent in this story which I love!
Both Lenny and Nero are struggling in different ways, trying to escape something. Their personality are total opposites but they balance each other out. Lenny brings light to Nero’s darkness.
I feel any MC romance book you just need to turn your brain off. I’ve read others by this authour and have enjoyed the simplicity of it. The writing isn’t bad, it’s easy to fall into and just vibe with.
Kayla had been through it, and had awful parents. So the MC was her found family. Charge kind of gave her a choice without really giving her a choice. He kind of claimed her without talking about it but always told her she could say no.
It was spicy and fun at times, but there was a LOT of shame from Michael. The romance was forbidden AF, and Anthony and Michael felt that hard.
I liked it more when it was alpha x alpha, the change to omega designation was interesting but it felt like it was done because the love between them was so wrong. When it wasn’t ? It felt purposefully over the top shameful so the omega change was done to make it acceptable.
Easy to read, but I’ll never look at candy canes the same again
I thought Row was very sweet in a morally grey kind of way, and Cal was mildly unhinged. I think she was overly labelled as “quirky”. Her PTSD and anxious tics I thought were portrayed well.
I liked how well Row supported and cared for Cal, even if times he went over the top. Secretly or not secretly and Cal is just oblivious, he pined for her since childhood. Cal made a lot of mistakes with his heart but ultimately they figured it out.
Pls let me get kidnapped by an alien???
Very fun MM alien x human romance
Vo’ak was the sweetest alien with a smirk to kill and charm just about anyone
Reuben understandably was traumatized but tried to make the best of it. I thought he was so strong and sweet
Loved the chemistry, and the world building was easy to follow.
Cute and light hearted, but a little too many miscommunication/someone over hearing a conversation and making assumptions without speaking to the other person moments for me.
Definitely liked this one the least, I didn’t quite feel the pack connection as a whole unit. It felt very just summer and one of the partners the whole time. I get the guys were brothers/family so I wasn’t expecting crossing swords and all that but it felt she was dating them separately.
The spice was spicy. We got to see more about the brothers and some more world building, BUT I felt things were only barely spoken about. It was just a secondary line in a paragraph explaining something and we moved on.
So much chemistry between Glenn and Arbor - I was so there for it. I liked the secret identity meeting during the heat hunt, and the surprise of ending up working together. The need to be professional but the pull of the want and need to be closer.
I liked it, but didn’t love it.
The cruise concept was fun and interesting!!
Elliot kind of ruined it for me?? He eventually redeemed himself but I honestly thought Claire forgave him way too quickly. She pined for SO LONG and he gave her NOTHING “because he couldn’t give her what she wanted” but he “did love her” blah blah blah
Forrest and Wells were great, Wells was the best part of this book he was so cute and funny
It’s a good book to turn your brain off and just be entertained but not a must read for me
I liked this, but I do think Riley deserved better.
Adam broke his heart and spirit so many times - and to be forgiven after 12 years, was crazy.
I GET all the reasons Adam did what he did, they were young, he was scared, but I think he could have tried harder to get in touch with Riley during those years they didn’t play together.
That being said, the slow burn was slow, the angst was angst, it was a good second chance romance but I don’t know if I personally would have forgiven Adam.
Also we never got Adam’s kids around after he got into the relationship with riley??? Seemed weird.
Despite all complaints I did enjoy reading it
