A cute start, bouncing off the honey mountain series.
Nice we get to get a quick glimpse of the Thomas girls in this one!
Lila is back in her hometown for the summer, and working for her brother's best friend's restaurant. She ends up living in his guest house as well so they see a lot of each other.
Hugh starts to help Lila with her “snow day list” a bucket list for what she wants to accomplish this summer. Losing her v-card is one of them. She wants it to be with him, but he doesn't want to cross that line. She's his best friends sister, she's leaving in two months, he can't cross that line because he can't go back to being just friends after this.
The pining!!! The spice!!! This was so unexpected but I'm so happy. I loved this so much, it was such a fun read.
Jamie is so god damn sweet. After his new assistant Pippa shows up at his door, his old high school crush, his world completely turns upside down.
She's in his house, loving his dog, being nice to his mom, just existing. It's too much - she's his assistant and they can't be together. Right?
Pippa just broke up with her long time boyfriend. They were on a music tour together, and he ordered her a car to the airport but didn't tell her they were ending things. He never believed in her own songwriting ability so her confidence was crushed.
Jamie knows she can sing, and he encourages her to keep “getting back on the ice”. His confidence in her makes her feel strong and brave.
This book was spicy AF and so full of love and sweetness
Scandalous indeed!!! This was a great read in this series.
I felt like Trent and Edie had a genuine connection.
Trent is a single dad, with a little girl who doesn't talk.
Edie is young, and her dad is enemies with Trent. They are on the board of the same company and both are trying to get rid of the other. Edie has the weight of the world on her shoulders, trying to care for everyone else other than herself.
Her dad tried to blackmail Edie into getting dirt on Trent, and she feels guilty because she has feelings for Trent but she has no other choice.
Both her and Trent know the stakes and who the other person is, but they don't stop their firey romance.
Anything by Lucy score is a win for me.
This was so good and so interesting. The characters had depth and growth, I felt like I was there with them.
The drama was so fun and unique, and Remi is so funny. How she teases Brick and pushes his buttons is so funny.
He is her Ex's older brother; and best friends ex-husband. So slightly forbidden but not really because everyone is single.
Brick is protective AF. He's a cop on the small town island, but he is a FORCE. Like, don't even think about putting Remi in harm or he will lose it.
Confused about the cover being Lyla. The previous ones have been the love interest, so it bugs me but whatever. I digress.
The concept itself was interesting, but Lyla and Vance lacked chemistry. The Tiff back story felt random and pointless. Almost like it was started then forgotten about.
I enjoyed the story, I enjoyed reading about Lyla, but just didn't hit me like the previous ones did.
Vance kept so many secrets, and I get it, but like... poor Lyla !! She was open with him but he didn't give much in return. They had sex, and they hiked.
This was so good!!!! I love Dean so so much I cannot even begin to express.
He comes off as an aloof jerk, but he has a good heart. And it beats for Rosie. He breathes for her. She is IT for him.
Rosie is hesitant to form relationships because of her health issues. She pushes people away so they won't suffer when she will eventually pass away. Dean makes it through those walls she has put up, and isn't going anywhere.
These two kind of fought the inevitable, and had mistakes and roadblocks along the way. But Dean is all in with Rosie and he proves it. He just wants to love and be loved.
Vicious is the best kind of asshole. You love to hate him. This is enemies to lovers, with an obsessive streak.
Vicious and Emilia went to high school together during their senior year. Her parents worked for and lived in his parents house. So they were kind of neighbours. She was the only one to not be scared of him or take his mean attitude. She gave it back.
He hates her, but nobody else can have her. When she ends up dating one of his best friends, he makes it his mission to split them up. He ends up giving her money to leave the state, and stay far away from him and his friend.
10 years later... they meet again at a chance encounter at her waitressing job. And just like that, everything clicks into place. Vicious needs her now more than ever and will do everything in his power to make her his.
He wants to use her for a revenge plan against his step mother, but also wants to fuck his obsession with her.
He gets her to join him as his PA, so they become closer. Once isn't enough, after all these years he needs her more and more.
Vicious was mean in high school, and he still is now. But Emilia sees who he is, and isn't afraid of him.
She lightens him up, while he darkens her a little. Together they balance, like pink and black
THIS WAS SO DAMN GOOD.
I'm a sucker for a marriage of convenience but this was done so well.
Dane is her grumpy boss, looking to get married to access his inheritance.
Vienna is his personal assistant, with a bit of a crush. Can she keep emotions out of this fake marriage?
The family drama between in brothers, and in-laws was crazy, but entertaining.
The spice was SO hot. They had an insane amount of chemistry.
e-ARC provided by NetGalley and the publisher for my honest review
This was a quick and romantic cowboy summer read.
An opposites attract romance, between a grumpy head rancher, and a “city girl” coming in to help improve the ranch to turn a profit.
Sabrina is an adventure coordinator; and is coming to Trevor's family ranch to upgrade the land for “glamping”. He hates change, but is willing to let her try because they need the money.
She has all of these ideas, but he has rules and lists. And none of them allow for much change. Over time, she slowly gets him to accept her ideas. More so by asking forgiveness than permission.
The two butt heads, and bicker, but there is underlying heat and attraction.
I wish there was more character development, and that we got to see more of them together as a couple. This book is on the shorter side, so part of it felt rushed in order to get to the big ILY declaration.
It was light hearted and enjoyable over all, I just wish I got to see more back story and/or character development with Trevor and Sabrina.
This book was so enjoyable!! Extremely impressed for a debut authour. The flow of the story was great, where everything was described well without it being tedious.
A workplace romance, between 2 chefs working in a restaurant in Paris. Claire came to Paris to find herself. escape family expectations, and have a bit of a fresh start. She has sworn off love, but that becomes tricky when her new head chef James gives her all the butterflies. (James is a wonderful book boyfriend)
This was a really refreshing romance read. I couldn't put it down, and I didn't want to. I wanted more of this story, but the ending was perfect, that adding anymore would just ruin it.
Closed door romance, no TAB, workplace romance, with a light amount of angst.
I received an e-ARC of this book from NetGalley in order to provide my honest review
Connor fucking Edward can do anything to me and I will support it
Taylor is sooooo relatable. I see myself in her so much.
They started the relationship on a dare which turned to fake dating. But it turned into more... it was like hesitant insta love. They fell hard but had such doubts about their own self it was harming them from being real with each other
This was really good!! I loved the banter between Brenna and Jake!
The forbidden romance of rival hockey teams, and coach's daughter.
Jake is a cool and cocky guy, but he's just as insecure as he is secure.
Brenna is bad ass and a tough cookie. She puts up a sarcasm shield, but deep down she's vulnerable. She doesn't trust easy.
* re-read July 2023*
Gah there's something about a reformed player, one night stand turns into more. Dean is such a sweet guy under his exterior he puts out into the world.
**
Why is this series so catchy??? Another finished in a day.
Wasn't sure how I felt about Allie after reading about her in previous books, but she won me over.
Same with dean. Oh how I have heart eyes for him.
The spice in this was off the charts. The absolutely undeniable chemistry between these two!!!!!
Very much enemies to lovers, in the very best way.
Beckett is hired to renovate Kate's family's farm house, but he is her ex-boyfriends older brother. He is also her brother's best friend.
Kate and Beckett are thorns in each other sides, but secretly love the banter and bickering.
This was a fantastic read. It but all my trope boxes and was surprisingly spicy with the dirty talk and the dominant controlling vibes.
Absolutely loved this!!
Single grumpy dad, small town. An “out of towner” mysterious girl shows up, and befriends the locals so she sticks around longer than originally planned.
She keeps catching his eye, and sparks fly.
He ends up hiring her as his personal assistant, and they become closer - but she is only staying for the summer. So he can't fall for her... right.?
This was a fabulous debut from this author. I gobbled this right up!!!
This is a Dual POV/timeline between the two, past and present and it is done really well. We follow how they are with each other now, but the past POV helps explain why they are so hesitant to be near each other.
Ama and Elliot work in the wedding industry with their businesses, so they often crossed paths.
The commitment-phobe wedding planner, and the heart on his sleeve florist, explore their chemistry. They are together but aren't labelling it at AMA's request. Elliot doesn't want her to freak so he goes along with it but he wants more.
This was amazing! A perfect end to the Thomas sister series in Honey Mountain
Dylan was always a spit fire and so funny in the previous books. She has a tough exterior but loves hard and is loyal as they come.
Her new boss, Wolf, is grumpy, closed off, and a former navy SEAL.
They have each met their match.
Was a cute second chance romance.
Was hoping for some more angst, as this was very low key with the drama.
Love the Thomas girls and their friendship! Hawk is a sweet guy, and always loved Everly after all the time apart. She tends to run when things get tough, but after they get the opportunity to work together, he won't let her run away again. Gahhh
