5/10

The ideas are great. It is simply outdated, though. I would probably have been a 9/10 if I read it 20 years ago (when I was 7 years old)

8.5/10

Horrifying literature with a perfect mix or higher level politics and personal accounts from the camp.

I think the book is 20 years old, so the language is a bit heavy and weird at times, at least in the norwegian translation.

8/10

Pretty good but not amazing

9/10

It's one of the most interesting books I have ever read. Only taking away a single point because there were some weird repetitions and several times the author just needs to chill a bit.

For extra anxiety points, listen to the Oppenheimer score while reading.

7.5/10

The second book in the series is still good, though I liked the first one better. My favorite aspect of the first book was getting to know Dunk and Egg, and there wasn't as much of that in this one.

I am starting to realize that these books read like a dnd one-shot.

9/10

Yeah, this is a good short story right here. It was lovely to be back in Westeros for the first time in years. I even started watching the show again regardless of the inevitable disappointment.

5/10 Graphic Audio

I have no idea why I liked the first two but not this volume. I dont like any of the characters. Every plot line is cliché, and every line of dialog is empty or cringe. Worst Sanderson work I have read.

4/10

The characters were ok. The plot was ok. The prose was the worst I have ever read in a fantasy novel.

7.5/10 Graphic Audio

It's better than the first. I still think these three should have been a single volume.

7/10 - Graphic Audio

I was sure this was gonna be a 10/10. Awesome magic system and classic Sanderson world building. However, it just ended way too early. I have a feeling all three volumes should have been a single one. Might just be the format that doesn't allow it.

7/10

It's pretty good, but very YA.

9/10

Exactly what I needed to understand what my dog was thinking while resource guarding and how to work on these problems.

The language was a bit too formal at times.

3/10

I guess the only thing I can say is that this book simply wasn't for me. How else can it be that I found it so extremely boring and incoherent.

If I am ever recommended a book in the category “Because you read The Great Gatsby” there is 0 chance of me reading that book.

9/10

This was a heartbreaking pageturner that is able to perfectly describe the blatant racism in the southern US at the time while still telling a gripping tale. A must-read for anyone and everyone.

8/10

A tad slow at times, and the ending was anticlimactic. Still has to be the coziest fantasy book ever written!

7.5/10

I'm not a big self-help guy but this was OK. Learned some cool concepts but I don't think I will actually apply any of the methods explained here.

3/10 - DNF around 60%

Yeah, I tried. I was just waiting for something to happen for way too long. While waiting, there were no other redeeming qualities that kept me interested. So, after not touching this book for a month, it's time to just realize that this isn't for me.

10/10 book
10/10 Graphical Audio adaption

This feels like watching Oppenheimer tbh

Had to DNF this as it was way too YA for my current taste. I would probably have loved this 10 years ago.

7/10

Fun, but a bit simple.

This feels almost like a Harry Potter reskin to me. Hopefully the depth and seriousness increase throughout the series in the same way as HP.

8.5/10

Really cool part of the Cosmere. I love how Brandon is just talking about different worlds and peoples of the Cosmere as if we know as much about it as Nomad does.

The only reason this isn't 5 stars is because the names were a bit weird, and the pacing was off at times.

9/10

Just a tiny bit too romancy for me, otherwise another Sanderson masterpiece! I liked the part where Painter fights at the Black Gate while Yumi destroys the Ring.
