I greatly enjoyed this debut novel. The main detective was interesting as were the rest of the detective crew. I'm looking forward to more books in this series.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Interesting read, especially with the historical aspects. Slow burn thriller? that takes a while to get moving. The characters were ok, the twist at the end was unexpected. This was an ok read for me. Easy to read, but nothing outstanding.

I started this one and couldn't put it down. Interesting view points, including that of a young german woman pulled into the SS from prison. I stayed up way to late to finish this one.

Slow to start, then the story picked up. The main characters were likeable and the twist at the end was somewhat suprising. Although the actually ending was just kind of blah.

Mulitple story lines come together between the past and the present make this an interesting but challenging read. Lots of characters both past and present made it hard to keep some of the straight. A nice twisted ending wrapped it all up nicely.

The current murder and suspects combine to bring a past murder to light. The characters were interesting and I will have to read the other books in the series.

I enjoyed this second book in the series. So many people with motives and mysteries from the past. I was surprised by the killer, didn't see that one coming. I'll be looking forward to more books in this series.

Great start for a new series. 2 storylines that come together. I really enjoyed the characters, The lead detective was interesting and the ending was not what I expected. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

I love historical mysteries and this series is one to read. It continues the story of Gemma and Sebastian solving crimes and working thru their relationship. Reading about Victorian England is fascinating.

Another fun read in this series. This quick and easy read is so entertaining, you won't want to put it down!.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I think I enjoyed the book within the book more than the entire book.

Don't read this book if you're already depressed. It's very good and engaging, but very depressing too.

Very twisted mystery with a lot of characters who have things to hide which made it difficult to figure out. I didn't guess who did it, probably because it was hard to keep everyone straight, but the story was good. I'd read more in the series.

This was a good story and kept me reading! Partway thru the book, the story really picks up and everything starts to come together. I didn't see the twist coming and it really kept the story going.

I enjoy reading this series. The main characters and the setting are interesting. I do think that the supervisor who is so antagonistic is just a really annoying part of the book. We could just get rid of him. Otherwise, another enjoyable read.
