Very interesting and insightful book from the frontier researcher in the field of longevity. I have understood that it is now just a matter of time when humans will live much longer, perhaps even forever and in good health. This is quite amazing and frankly scary to me. The author has raised many difficult ideas that will accompany the shift in the paradigm of our society and how difficult it will be to transition. I do hope that it will not come at a great cost.
I need to give credit when it is due. The world that Tolkien has created is amazing. Nothing can replace it. I have finally enjoyed this volume the most out of the three. One could say this is the one to rule them all, bring them together and in darkness bind them forever.
I still think that the movie is a better presentation of Frodo's story but if someone wants to delve more into the lore of Middle Earth, they should give the trilogy a read.
Ostatnia książka trylogii Diakowa okazała się najlepszą! Genialna wartka akcja nie pozwalają się od książki oderwać.
I remember first reading The Tombs of Atuan years ago and since then I really wanted to read the whole Earthsea series. This first book is a little strange now for me. The writing style of the autor is very peculiar but sets you in a very specific mood perfect for the world she created.
Niesamowita historia i niesamowita książka!
Got it as a present. Gave it a go. It's terrible, sounds like a bible rip off. Exactly the type of book that I would have never picked and never read. Either I'm not ready or it is really terrible and would only appeal to certain type of people.
Can the brain really understand itself? Very scientific book on how the brain works and perceives. Not all is known yet, but we're slowly getting there.
This is my second try for reading this classic. This time I have decided to do audiobook which was a really good idea.
However!
I do not recommend reading it unless you have seen the movie and even then it is not as good as the movie.
Goggins you bad motherfucker. How can someone persevere this much and keep going is beyond me. I thought I was tough, but comparing it to you, I'm so much softie.
Amazing inspiration in anything that you wanna endure in your life. How to change and keep go8ng even if you don't want to. A manual how to forge yourself stronger
Częste zwroty biegu akcji, miarowe tempo wydarzeń oraz nieprzewidywalne pomysły razem złożyły się na świetną książkę. Często denerwowało mnie to, że akcja biegnie nie w tym kierunku który bym sobie życzył. Zakończenie do przewidzenia.
What an incredible story of perseverance stretching the limits of human ability to endure adversity and survive!
I have been really inspired by their strength and ability persevere!
I pretty much am spoiled by the Graphic audio and tlcna only listen to their audiobook!
Very interesting book with many concepts I knew about put into one volume. Inspired me to look into my own longevity factors!
The adaptation is really nice but the story is nothing special. Only check it out since I've heard so much about Moby Dick and then Rodney M'kay was scared of it so wanted to see what's the big deal.
[Listening to the Audible Adaptation]
Fantastic adaptation made by Audible. This way audiobooks are much more fun to listen.
As for the story it was very good without giving away the actual plot too early.
I do not know how Sanderson does this to me but it is almost as he puts a spell on me to keep reading. I cannot stop myself but to keep reading and find out what's gonna happen. Having said that I really enjoyed this book, pulled me in so and held in strong grasp until I have finished it.
This is Sandersons “subpar” work which is really good. I really like the prototype characters that were later use din the Cosmere. As much as this is not Cosmere cannon book, I think there was a lot of interesting things that connect it to Cosmere. I cannot wait for Sanderson to rewrite the Dragonsteel into a cannon novel and find out more about Yolen.
I was a little let down by the ending, I thought it was a bit strange, some plot twists I didn't expect and also, as usual, I've been left with more questions than answers. It was a however a little unsatisfactory ending to the story.
Fairly self explanatory concepts. Nothing that woukd ground breaking but still a good listen.
It is a book to return to when I feel reflective. How much of it is about the frailty of our lifestyle and how insignificant we are in the grand schemes of things.
When I've started this book I was hoping to understand what alcoholics go through. I was also hoping to understand if I can help a friend that is on the way to become one or he is already there. I'm not sure I full appreciate how this works but definitely have now better understand how much of a trap this is.
