Wow! This book was so good I could not put it down. I read it in mostly one sitting because I was addicted from page one.
Frey is a good girl, always following her Father's orders. But after experiencing a traumatic loss she finds herself on the edge of a bridge.
Daze is bad news. A sinner, a criminal... But as he stands there watching Frey contemplate jumping, he pulls her aside and brings her on the ride for answers.
This book is filled with so many questions. It's intense, filled with action, and absolutely wonderful world building.
Daze is your typical bad boy MC character, but under the hard exterior is someone who is falling for someone completely out of his league. Frey just wants answers, and the only thing I hated was how little Daze was giving her.
This book ends with a cliffhanger. I can't wait to continue the series!
Ashley just walked away from an engagement to a guy she didn't really love and moved in with her best friend temporarily. Although the wedding wasn't going to happen, she decided to not let her honeymoon go to waste. Her friends, worried about her bad relationship choices, decided that if she was going to have a rebound trip, they were going to set her up.
Maddox has never taken a holiday, and when he found out the girl he's been crushing on since first grade was hosting a contest to find someone to bring on her honeymoon, he couldn't resist applying.
When he surprises her on the plane, they agree to have an amazing vacation in Nassau and let things flow naturally.
Gah. I love a sweet friends-to-lovers story and this one has jumped high on my list of favourites. Maddox's relationship with his siblings is amazing. I love the banter between him and his family. The chemistry between Maddox and Ashley was off the charts! The flirting relationship before they even go together was amazing.
I love Ashley's relationship with her mom and her friends. They played a large roll in Ashley's life and I loved all the interactions with them. There are a few times this story made me feel sad and emotional, and one scene in particular that hurt my soul a little bit. It was so beautifully written that I could feel the pain.
Definitely give this one a shot if you like friends to lovers and small town romance!
Small Town Love!
Brady is a sheriff in a small town beach town on the east coast. He is trying to help his family's resort survive and there's a pesky new woman in town who has a knack for not following the rules.
Luna is a free spirit who just wants to fight for what she believes in. She's new to the little beach town and wants to stop deforestation for a shopping mall. A shopping mall that would bring in a lot of tourism for Brady's familys resort.
These two have chemistry right from the beginning. Luna is probably one of my favourite Heroine's because she pushes Brady and I love that she doesn't take his crap. Her brattiness is phenomenal! I loved the pillow talk, the goat yoga and Mabel's livestreams! This small town romance had me falling in love! I can't wait to see what else Starlight Cove has in store for us!
Kai is probably my favourite Novak brother so far! His story of self-discovery is beautiful. I love that this story has two broken men who are just trying to figure out who they are. There is a lot of rocky patches before they get there, but it's beautiful!
The prank war was amazing, especially when they realized they went too far and reigned it in to cups of water upside down on counters and a donut box of vegetables.
If you've read the previous books in this series (if you haven't, go read now!), you'll know that Kai and Kale's relationship has always been strained as twins... And I absolutely love the fact that we got to see the growth in their relationship. I love that Kai felt comfortable going to Kale for advice! Made my heart happy!
If you love m/m, novellas, and rocky hero's, this one is for you!
Lovely office romance with a good amount of smut ;)
I loved Nix and Brennan. I loved the little bits of Swedish culture we get in this little love story!
Phoenix is new to Whitecrest after accepting a job as Brennan's assistant...an assistant he didn't want. Her fiery personality drew him in and they could not keep their hands off each other! A man who swore he'd never fall in love, was able to get over himself in the end and make Nix his, just before Christmas.
I love office romances, and I love Octavia Jensen. This story read well, and, although a short novella, this story never felt rushed. Some novellas go too quickly, or are insta-love. This story happens over the course of a year. Absolutely wonderful!
I loved Jude and Millie! I loved Millie in the other book and couldn't wait to hear her wit with Jude.
Jude has some stuff in his past he needed to work through, but this playboy put in the work!
I also like how Cree didn't get overly upset (aside from normal) about his friend and his sister dating. I can't wait to read Daire's story when it releases!
5 beautiful stars!
Brooklyn is new to Colorado, and intends on making sure everyone knows she means business. As the new social media manager for Slade Brewery, she has her hands cut out for her when she insists that Tyler Slade becomes the new face of the company.
Tyler is content taking after the ranch. As the oldest son it was expected that he take over the CEO position of Slade Brewery, but he is the most happy out on the ranch. When Brooklyn waltzes herself into his life, he finds himself becoming agreeable to things he never thought possible.
Brooklyn is my absolute favourite type of heroine. She's strong, confident, outgoing and loves to be in charge in the boardroom. Tyler prefers his control in the sheets, and man does he command those sheets well. He can force me to my knees any day of the week
Four and a half stars!!
This short little novella is absolute perfection.
Donovan and Victoria have known each other for years. Victoria is Donovan's sister's best friend, and as much as he's attracted to her, he just can't go there.
Victoria is determined to make sure he never comes near her again ..not after last time. So imagine her surprise when he shows up at her planned girls trip. Even more of a surprise when he needs her help.
It's quick, it's easy, and it's sexy. I love the connection to Broody Devil's, and I love getting to see Victoria's story! This book gives me major Dirty Dancing Havana Night's vibes, so if you liked that you'll love this!
This is a beautifully sweet romance, but I must preface this by saying there are some hard topics discussed through the book and you should absolutely check them out first.
This is the first book I've read by G Colgrove and I loved it! Jackson and Rory have been friends since they were 16, and both of them loved each other in silence for years. Rory is now marrying another man, and Jackson can't let her go without saying what he really feels for her.
This is a slow burn romance, which I'm not usually a fan of, but this one was so well done. I loved the maturity that Jackson took, not just in his life, but with his family, by the end of the book. I loved seeing how their friendship grew and the loyalty they had with each other through the years.
Absolutely recommend this if you're in need of a nice, small town romance!
Banter! Swoony! Grumpy!
I have loved everything I've read from Lauren Asher and this is no different. The banter in this book is second to none. I absolutely loved the chemistry between Declan and Iris. I put off reading this one thinking it wouldn't live up to my expectations, but boy was I wrong. It blew them away! Everything about this book was absolutely wonderful! From the plot to the character development to the side characters, everything was smooth and effortless.
And can we talk about how swoony the grovelling is?!
This sports romance is so full of sexual tension you can feel it dripping off the pages. Ben and Sienna are just absolute perfection. I have been waiting for the story since The Varsity Dad Dilemma and it did not disappoint. It was everything I wanted in their story!
Ben finds out he's a father after his ex girlfriend comes back in his life 3 years later. Trying to juggle being a new father and the football team, he turns to Sienna for help.
Sienna was just cheated on, royally, and now she needs a new roommate. She suggests Ben move in with her as a football party house is no place for a toddler.
Between a group trip with his ex in tow, football camp, and everything else that comes forward, Ben is under a ton of stress. But the sunshine that emits from Sienna keeps him holding on.
This book was beautiful. I just loved their dynamic so much. I can't wait to read Olly's story next!
I loved Cambria's Hashtag and Gearshark series so I knew that this was going to be a hit as well!
WET is the story of Rory and Ryan. Ryan is an Elite swimmer at Westbrook University, and Rory is a photographer who shoots some of the meets. Rory ends up being attacked by a student at Westbrook and Ryan ends up saving her life...multiple times.
This story has insta-love, amazing chemistry, banter and amazing side characters that I absolutely can't wait to read more about.
“I mean, I wouldn't say it out loud, but she looked kinda like a drowned chihuahua standing there drying off the ends of her orange hair.”
This was a very fast paced read and I couldn't put it down! It's probably one of the only books lately that I finished in one sitting because it was just so addicting. I absolutely loved the addition of some slight praise as it really tickled my kink, iykyk.
“Fuck loyalty among bros. Loyalty to my girl rules all.”
Ryan's loyalty to Rory bled through the pages, and his possessive nature came out full force. I love how brave Rory and Mads are as well!
Seriously phenomenal!
The final part of this fantastic duet is now live and it's everything I wanted it to be! I love TJ and Jude so much, and this fake dating my ex was right up my alley!!
This duet has made me fall in love with mm romance all over again in the best possible way! I love how the characters matured in book two, the development was fantastic. These characters are fun and sexy and the banter is fantastic. The supporting characters bring the world together and I can't wait to read further about them!
I loved every aspect of this book. From fox mugs to hidden spaces and sneaking kisses, this book made me swoon!
If you love MM, second chance, fake dating, then this should be the next duet you pick up! Just for the character development alone, the romance and sexiness of the characters are just bonus
The Brisley Boys are back again! Octavia Jensen knocked it out of the park with this one. The spice, the banter, the humour, the story, the chemistry. Everything about this book was just absolutely amazing.
I was beyond blessed to receive an arc of this book. It releases July 11th, so clear your calendars! Start with King Hunt just so you can have an idea how much you'll Ollie and Mia!
Mia is a single mother living with her sister and nephews in Domingo, California. She waitresses at a restaurant that Ollie used to frequent (before it changed ownership). Ollie visited Domingo to sell off his home and deal with a past that keeps haunting him. He never expected the fiery and beautiful Mia to stumble (or maybe it was him stumbling) into his life. Turning down every marriage proposal he throws at her, he never gives up.
This story is beautiful and funny. Oliver is sweet, and emotional and just the absolute perfect book boyfriend. He has a past that torments him, but he finally comes to grips with it and accepts it for what it was. Everything that happened led him straight to Mia.
Mia has a past of her own, but through all of the challenges thrown their way they communicate and work through it. This is probably the number one reason why I love Octavia Jenson! There's no real “break up” point. Just a dumb man trying to make decisions for his woman and his woman slapping him across the face and straight up just saying “No.”
Tropes:
Second Chance
Best friend's sister
Age-gap (small)
Enemies to Lovers
Single Father
M Robinson never fails to write controlling alpha-men and it's absolutely evident in Second Chance Love.
Caleb and Evie's story starts with a chance encounter at a college party. Their chemistry is great from the beginning, until Caleb finds out that Evie is his best friend's little sister.
With their back and forth banter and anger at each other over the course of 12 years, Evie and Calebs chemistry just bleeds off the pages. You can tell they're meant to be together. Shocking revelations in the present rock Caleb's world, but will Evie stick with him through it?
There is a lot of time jumps in this one. Back and forth between past and present (as the rest of the series is as well) and that is probably why this isn't a 5 star read for me. I enjoy the characters and the story so much, but the time skips drove me crazy and I often forgot details that were “present” while reading about the past. Other than that, the story was great and I definitely recommend reading this second-chance romance series!
Mount Macon is one of my favourite small town romances!
Raelyn has crushed, and maybe even stalked a little (okay, maybe a lot), on Davis - the mountain Grump since she was a teenager. But an encounter in town had her booking it to New York to complete a college degree and escape Mount Macon.
Davis is a troubled man with a deep past that keeps him holed up in his mountain home. He rarely comes to town and likes it that way.
Needing to come home to help her town, Rae is hopeful that Davis has moved on from Mount Macon, but when he comes over to her parents house of all places, she becomes defensive and off-putting towards him - hoping to keep her secret locked tight.
These two have amazing chemistry, but I hate how they didn't communicate. It all comes together beautifully at the end, and we see great character growth from Davis in particular.
If you love small town, grumpy/sunshine types, you're going to want to pick up this book! Davis also has a filthy mouth
I always underestimate how much I'm going to love a book by Kandi Steiner until I start reading a new one and go “oh, yes, why did I think this wasn't going to blow me away?”
Blind Side is set in the same world as Fair Catch but is a standalone. You do not need to read Fair Catch to read Blind Side, but it enhances your reading experience for sure!
Clay Johnson is the hottest football safety. His highschool girlfriend just moved across the country to....break up with him? Being lost, he turns to Giana Jones, PR coordinator for the team, to pretend to be his girlfriend to make her jealous. But what's in it for Giana? Well, she has her eye on a certain guitar playing singer who plays at coffee shops and bars around campus. Clay will help her be noticed, and Giana will help make Clay's ex jealous. Sounds simple right?
Well of course, nothing is simple. From first kisses, to movie nights watching documentaries on the ocean, to checking out the night sky, these two end up falling in love.
Giana is the best. She finds her voice through the book and I loved seeing her have more confidence in who she is by the end.
Clay is just a wonderful, sweet guy. He truly just wants the best for those around him, even if it means he hurts in the process.
Definitely put this one on your TBR if you haven't yet! It's so good!
Tropes:
New To Town
M/M
Forced Proximity
“When you smile at me, it's like the world disappears and I'm caught in your spotlight.”
Just in time for Pride Month, Lauren Blakely delivers, yet again, a great M/M romance! It's been a hot minute since I've picked up a book from Lauren Blakely, and I'm beating myself up for that!
This is book one in the Hopelessly Bromantic Duet - so be aware that it does end on a cliffhanger.
She brought the banter in this one! I loved the flirting between TJ and Jude. The chemistry was bursting right from the get-go!
This book takes place over the course of 7 years. TJ was sent to London to cover the markets for News24. While waiting for his luggage he runs into Jude who tells him the best thrift store to get an outfit from.
When he arrives to his flatshare, he is surprised to find out that Jude is his new roomie! Jude is an aspiring actor who just got his first place in the city. Due to the complicated nature of their attraction, and the time limit of TJs stay, they decide it's best not to get physical.
This rollercoaster ride is absolutely amazing and I honestly can't wait for book two!
Tropes:
Single dad
Grumpy/Sunshine
Enemies to Friends With Benefits to Lovers
Opposites attract
Book two in the Ladies Who Brunch Series, we meet Ethan and Amelia. I have been waiting to read their story since they were introduced in Never Say Never. This book can be read as a standalone, but you do see repeating characters.
Amelia is a marriage therapist who just recently secured a brand new office space to practise out of. Excited for this new chapter in her life, she decorates her office and makes it homely. She never expected that Ethan, a divorce attorney, would be using the space right across from her! How can a marriage therapist and a divorce attorney work this closely to each other without causing issues?
Enemies to lovers, grumpy/sunshine, single dad...this book's tropes are amazing and I loved every minute of the book! From the banter, the prank wars, and the steamy office fun, everything about these two was so enjoyable!
As with the first book, I absolutely love the fact that this book isn't just about Amelia and Ethan, but the girls who have weekly brunches! The support system we all need in our friends, this book does it well!
Johnathan and Kennedy are beautiful. I loved the character progression, especially in Johnathan's case. The story of overcoming addiction, finding yourself after losing yourself, and giving love a second chance, was just absolutely breathtaking. The words just draw you in and you forget you're reading, you start to live these characters and feel these characters...and that speaks to the quality of writing here.
Thank you JM Darhower for writing such a lovely story.
“God I wanted her. So bad. Not just to be her first, but her second, her third, her last. I've felt her heart calling to mine for years. Even during the two years we were apart, I still felt it.”
Kit and Ryker. What can I say really?
Kit is Ryker's best friend's little sister. They've grown up together. Kit being 2 years younger than Carter and Ryker meant the two were insanely protective over her.
When an unexpected situation takes Ryker away from her and her brother, Kit is angry. Not only does he leave without saying goodbye, but he doesn't reach out for two whole years.
When he returns to watch over her for a week all her feelings from when she was younger return and she realized there was no getting over Ryker. Ryker realized there was nothing that could stop him from falling for Kit. Both dealing with their own demons, they take a plunge.
“The little things with the right person make all the difference.”
This book is heartbreaking and beautiful. This story isn't just about Kit and Ryker. It's about coming of age, it's about love and friendships , it's about enjoying all the the little things. Rachel Leigh has truly brought us a phenomenally breathtaking story that keeps you enthralled from the very first page.
This world that Britt Andrews has created is absolutely so addicting. The Emerald Lake series blew my mind...but this? Ugh. I have been desperately waiting to read more about the Exiled since the EL series and I'm obsessed! Obsessed with every character, the verbal sparring, comebacks, the chemistry, the hatred...I want it all!
This is the perfect introduction to the Demons of Port Black series. It has the perfect amount of spice. The perfect balance of characters. The surprises. The backstory behind each character is so good, and heartbreaking. Palmer is a badass who has trauma of her own, but she just wants to be loved and needed. The men are just crazy and unique and they own it.
The twists in this first book had me
