Humayun Azad was a Bangladeshi poet, novelist, short-story writer, philosopher, critic, researcher, linguist and professor of Dhaka University. He wrote more than seventy titles. He was awarded the Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1986 for his contributions to Bengali linguistics.
