Things are going great for Sutton Kay, or at least they were. Her yoga studio is doing well, she's living with her best friend, and she just got two kittens named Mocha and Cappuccino. Sure, she doesn't have a girlfriend, but her life is full and busy. Then her building is sold and the new landlord turns out to be the woman putting in a gym downstairs who doesn't seem to understand the concepts "courtesy" and "don't be rude to your tenants." Sutton can't get a read on Tuesday Grímsdóttir, but she can appreciate her muscles. Seriously, Tuesday is ripped. Not that that has anything to do with anything since she's too surly to have a conversation with, and won't stop pissing Sutton off.Sutton's life gets interesting after she dares Tuesday to make it through one yoga class, and then Tuesday gives Sutton the same dare. Soon enough they're spending time working out together and when the sweat starts flowing, the sparks start flying. How is it possible to be so attracted to a person you can barely stand? But when someone from Tuesday's past shows up and Sutton sees a whole new side of Tuesday, will she change her mind about her grumpy landlord? Can she?

This is my first book read from Chelsea M. Cameron. I very much enjoyed her style of writing in “Anyone But You”. I found it refreshing to have a story where the main characters start off butting heads with each other, fall for each other, and then stay together without a lot of angsty BS thrown in to extend the story. The characters get on each other's nerves, then kiss, then have sex, then get in a relationship that stays. That was an enjoyable storyline.
This was the first book that I've encountered where personal pronouns came into play. I don't know if it was because I was listening to the Audible version or if it was just because I wasn't familiar with hearing they/their instead of she/her type pronouns. It became more natural the more I heard but was a bit jarring at first for someone that hasn't encountered those in use before.
Lori Prince does a wonderful job of narration and is in the handful of top narrators for F/F novels in my opinion.
Yoga meets CrossFit and the sparks start to fly and more than the gym heats up.
Sutton Kay meets her new landlord right after she gets done yelling at her for her loud music and after checking out her butt for a couple of minutes. Sutton does not know what to make of her landlord as she cannot seem to have one civil conversation with Tuesday, but she cannot seemed to stop desiring her. After awhile she cannot stop going into the gym with varied excuses until finally she challenges Tuesday to a dare: try hot yoga and soon Tuesday is returning with a dare of her own.
I have to say it so nice to read a “normal” romance: girl meets girl and they get their groove on. Chelsea M. Cameron gives me everything I have been craving in Anyone But You. Sutton and Tuesday have chemistry, conversation, and sex. (sigh) It is heaven. The romance is something everyone can relate to as any sports person thinks their sport is better than the other so the dialogue back and forth is funny. Tuesday's courtship is very cute. The one item that is new to read is the non-binary plural third person which I will have to get used to. At first I thought the cats were shrugging and getting pizza and I thought “Huh?” and I had to read the paragraphs three or four times before I realized that Sutton's roommate is non-binary. It does take some getting used to reading third person plural if you have never read it before, but once you become aware of it, it becomes easier. The sex is fantastic and I have to admit that Cameron kept talking about licking Tuesday's muscles so much I wanted to lick them too (laugh). If you are looking for an old-fashioned romance - this is it! Thank you Chelsea!
