Ava is such a cool and cute character. She's an 11-year-old girl who has five important things:
Anxiety, One
ICD Pacemaker, Two
Loves ice cream, Three
Writing, Four
Daydreaming, Five!
She is like me in 4/5 because I don't have any heart condition (thankfully). Her anxiety was very real because the author themselves has it and the heart condition too... I liked how Ava became more open and less anxious as the story progressed and her improv friends were soo nice and fun! I would have liked it if I went to Improv, but there is no such thing in my country... Anyways I liked her relationships with her family and how she handled Ty.. It was soo nice and kind of her. I was a bit scared when she got a shock from her heart tho... I didn't like Zelia much, I think she was some friends I have had in the past too. That they are the ones who always decide for you and just... I don't know she didn't seem that nice to me.. I know moving away from everyone that far must be hard but still... Ava was being brave about everything tho and she did the Cotillion no matter what! Flying by herself must have been scary... I did once when I was younger but that was with friends and a guardian... anyways great book, I recommend to Middle Grade and realistic fiction lovers and those who love MC with health and neurodiverse brains!!!
