Goldie

Goldie is listed as a romance, but it is not a romance. Danni Maxwell has written a story about self-love, bravery, and courage in the face of fear. Marigold's story is a journey of growth and learning.

Maxwell starts the story with the worst of bullying and takes us from there. We get to go on Marigold's blossoming of knowledge and self empowerment. Yes, Marigold meets a cheeky young lass (laugh), but the story is not about that - especially since it happens at the very end.

This is a short story so I do not want to give too much away. Goldie is a fairy tale you could read to your child or give your kid to read about a girl who overcomes those who would label her to become someone she wants to. Kudos to Maxwell for giving kids yet another hero to read about who defies labels.
