I was clicking down the list of audios today and decided to stick with more of Roy Snell's, so I grabbed this one because I didn't see the third in the Radio-Phone Boys series and wasn't sure which one to try next. I should have at least looked at the chapter list first. I really liked the scene at first and the characters talking about Christianity, but then out came the gypsy fortune telling cards and the characters thereafter tell the cards (with full details of how/what the cards mean) instead of praying despite continuing to refer to themselves as Christians...and then the plot itself unravels, dozens of characters confuse the mix of the mystery, and it's hard to even keep track of clues because so many things are going on at once with different characters.
I'll not just jump into a Roy Snell now without a bit of prior research.
(And if you say “look at the cover”—I couldn't. I had to add it myself after I finished reading.)
