A semi-sweet story about the times of Charles 1 and his relationship with his children. Princess Fairstar is his daughter Elizabeth, the most delicate of the family. The characters are heartwarming (mostly) and the details about the captive royal family is really interesting. It's a facet of the English civil war that I hadn't read about before. Overall, a solid Christian historical novel which would be good to share with children of middle or high school age.
