Three vignettes of life in Western Canada in the late 1800s. Pastor Kerby reveals his humble, Godly soul on nearly every page. His deep compassion for these people he works among, his longing to reach them with the true Gospel, his yearning that they find the way to happy, wholesome lives...his great joy over the souls saved.
I found this book at a library sale, and it seems that it is quite rare. If you get a chance to read a copy, enjoy seeing the example of what a true Christian ought to be and how he should view those around him.
Sadly, in the final essay, he gives a plea to those around him that people would reach out to the fallen women of the cities and put an end to the cruel practice of sex slavery. At that time, one hundred women entered the lifestyle every day in North America, 75-90% of them unwillingly. I wish I could say that the progress of a century has mended those numbers, but reality tells us that they are worse than ever.
