We pick up a few weeks after Lia absorbs Kiernan's dragon's and takes his memory of her away from him. All he has left are the scars on his body and a couple weeks of missing memories. I will say that in some ways this is pretty funny as we get to journey through Kiernan's confusion as to how his life has progressed without him. For example, when he finds out he is no longer engaged and he was not even the one to break off the engagement. Ginger Li had me in hysterics at this point in The Lady Thief.
Most of the humor comes from the fact that everyone knows about the missing time except for Kiernan. Most of the drama comes from the drama within the mystery. Li gives us a hint with her dedication at the beginning of the book, so I am not sure if it is a spoiler or not. I am sitting here debating, but I plan on writing about the dedication a few lines from now so pay attention.
Li also provides plenty of action as Lia is training to fight and is testing out her new skills. This is for the humor of some and by the causing of pain to others. There are plenty of surprises and some you might see coming and other's...hmmm are just sad.
Li leaves the ending a complete mystery. We definitely know one team is off for an adventure and possibly heartache and the other...more than likely a stomach ache. (laugh). I cannot wait.
