3 .5ish
Even though this didn't blow my mind, I found it enjoyable. I loved the characters, the magic was interesting, and it was just a fun read. Bonus: it has goblins!
Anouk is a Beastie. Beasties are animals turned human by a witch. She is basically a servant. She can't go outside, she can't do anything unless her witch Mada Vittora wants her to.
What would happen if Mada Vittora died?
I plan to continue on with the series.
This book had me right from the start.
I loved the world created here. The cultures are great. The characters are the best part in my opinion. Well, that and the magic system. I really loved the shade pacting.
This is the first book that I have read by this author and I'm a big fan. I look forward to more by Paul Krueger, especially this series.
I received a copy from Net Galley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I was surprised by how much I loved this one!
January Scaller is the ward of Mr Locke. She lives with him while her father travels around the world searching for unique treasures for Mr. Locke's collection.
Sometimes, Mr Locke leaves gifts for January inside one of these treasures. This time it is a book. A book about Doors to impossible worlds.
This is such a wonderful story. It sucked me in right from the start. I also love this cover. It is stunning!

This book is about a barbarian, a nobleman, a crippled torturer, and a wizard.
This book is about what happens when they are all drawn together.
This book is AMAZING!
I have had this on my shelf for quite a while. With the new book coming out, I decided to finally give it a go. I loved it!. I love character driven stories, and these characters are fantastic! I will definitely continue on with the series.
I absolutely loved this!!
Bershad used to be a lord. After being exiled by the King, he is a dragonslayer. He can have no home, no lands, no title. He can't even spend the night at an inn. He can hunt dragons and that's it.
Now, years later, the King that exiled him has summoned him. He is to kill an emperor. Then he can be free. But will the King hold up his end of the bargain or is it too good to be true?
I love Bershad. I love all of the characters actually! I love the dragons, and the magic. I thought the pacing was great. I loved this from the start to the end. I can't wait for more. I have found a new auto-buy author.
3.5 stars
This is a fast paced story filled with political intrigue, fantasy, and family. I enjoyed the characters, and I found Varenia to be fascinating. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the romance. But, that's just my personal preference. Other than that, I thought it was pretty good. I would definitely read more from this author.

I really enjoy fairy tale retellings. I have never read one about The Twelve Dancing Princesses before.
I enjoyed it. It was a little slow in spots. But I loved the characters and the setting. It is very creepy and atmospheric. I kind of wish I would've waited until October to read it. It is just what I look for in a fall read.

I just love Jane and Beast!!
Jane has been hired by the head of the Vamp Council to find out who is creating rogue vamps and kill them and the rogues. When she delves into the case, there are more than just vamps involved.
This is a great series! I love the characters. Especially Jane, Molly, Bruiser. The magic is entertaining. I love the setting. I listened to some of this, and Khristine Hvam is great!
If you like urban fantasy, you have to read this!
I'm giving this 4 stars instead of 5 for a couple of reasons.
I thought this was a little longer than it needed to be. I loved the other two books all the way through, but this one had some boring spots.
The ending. I didn't get the closure I was looking for. If other books are planned, then the ending is great. If not, I would've liked everything wrapped up.
Those things aside, Laini Taylor is a brilliant writer. She is in a league of her own.
This is a good one!!
Wendal died in the war. Now, he is returning home. He is possessed by something named Sycamore.
Some call him an ageless demon. Sycamore may be a demon or not, but he has a purpose. Getting revenge for murder victims. The problem is, the hands enacting this revenge belong to Wendel.
I really enjoyed this one. I was confused at first, but then it all came together. Wendal is a great character, and I really liked the magic. I could just picture the city with its shield up!
If you enjoy fantasy, give this one a go!

Maia dreams of being a master tailor like her father. A dream is all it is though because only men can be master tailors. She will just have to be content with working in the shop with her father.
When her father is summoned to the palace, he is not well enough to go. The messenger will allow his son to go in his place. Maia must pose as her brother. It's the only way she will ever be a master tailor.
This book was a pleasant surprise! I thought it sounded pretty good, but I thought the romance would ruin it for me. The story was strong enough that the romance didn't take away from it. I loved the writing style. Maia and Edan are great characters. I will definitely read the next one.

Kate is trying to get her business up and running. It's not going very well. No cases at all. Until, Ghastek calls. The People lost control of a vamp and they need Kate to stop it.
I loved this book! This is one of my favorite series, but I really loved this one. So much going on, and so many different supernaturals coming together. On to the next one!
