Uhm... there were some moments when my jaw dropped, I wasn't expecting that. Besides that it was an odd story with how for a good chunk it was like a boring car ride but then there were times when it was pretty darn good.Japan does a lot of TABOO things and this had a pretty fucked up one, rhymes with broom, and another that wasn't so bad. I think society forgets how to think for its damn self so in the midst of it all THEY look like a damn fools. Once you read, you'd see.

It was Tom and Nick all the way. If it hadn't had those two I think this book would have been rated very low. Snoozefest.Movie was actually better.

I didn't think I would cry but I am BAWLING my eyes out. Charlie deserves the whole fucking world and then some. Same for Algernon. Fuck anyone who is such a POS to people who are disabled. The journey of Charlie from beginning to end hits you. The writing was done AMAZINGLY. I was in awe. There were a few things I really didn't agree on. Like, how these “scientist” decided to do a human trial without FULLY having finished with Algernon. Honestly, to call yourself a scientist and doing that is kind of pathetic. Anyone who does a fast turnout without FULLY testing something is pathetic and I hope the worst for these people. They put other's life at risk and for what? Most likely fame and money.There is this thing I would happily hold up my middle fingers to Daniel about. When he wrote "Whatever the truth is, I must not hate Rose for protecting Norma. I must understand the way she saw it. Unless I forgive her, I will have nothing." This is such bullshit and nearly ruined the whole book for me. If you read that statement and agree remotely, do the world a favor and don't.

And society back in those days, what trashy people. Nosey good for nothing trash. People demanding to know more about her life, like they have some fucking say. You people are what fed those paparazzi and people like Ryan and Matt and Diane. Joan Rivers, never rest her soul, is also in that list people who were never worth the time.I am so sorry Britney had to fucking go through this. How grown ass fucking humans couldn't act with humanity. I am not Britney and I wish nothing but the worse on these people. As for the book, it was well done and am so glad she was able to share this all with us.

It was left open so there could be book 2.

It was an okay story if you have no idea what the meaning behind it is all about. Without that knowledge it is a good mystery of sorts. But when I went looking, because I wasn't enjoying myself as much as I'd have liked, I found some rather... extremely sad news.The story was “inspired”, which sounds so shitty, from the use of harmful pesticides in Argentina. Finding that out made so much sense. On top of the how incredibly sad. The only horror in this how the deaths were a real life thing.

I think maybe it fell because of the way it was translated. I am not sure since I can't read the OG works. I did like the underlying message or picture it was painting. It is sad and depressing in its own way. If you like A24 movies, I really think you may enjoy this one.

It is a short read so if you have time to kill I suppose this will help you reach your reading goal.
