This took me awhileeee to get through. Mainly because the material is dense but greattt. I enjoyed the spiritual language he used - how he talks about the enneagram is more encouraging than other books that use terms like “deadly sins” etc. I know I liked a book when I read it and want my own tangible copy. That's how this one was for me. I would have wanted more practical advice outside of the prayer postures he suggests
I wasn't planning to read this book (thought it might be too Christianese for me) but my Mom gave it to me for my birthday so I decided to try to read it. Once I started reading it, I was hooked. This was the first tangible book (not an audiobook) that I read this year which means a lot after I got burnt out on reading from my reading challenge last year. 💯 I had trouble putting this book down. Hannah is very real & the encouragement she gives is so applicable to several friends my age in similar seasons ❤️
I enjoyed this small, quick book lots and would recommend. I quickly read through because I solely stuck to reading the parts about my number. The authors approach the enneagram a little different with including a whole section on meditations and breathing exercises for each type. This book also helped confirm the number I thought I was. 😊
I enjoyed how truthful and open Esther was about her past. She writes so well on how REAL healing occurs and how much coping or sweeping things under the rug injures us. I only gave this a 3 because towards the middle and end it began to feel redundant. The book didn't end up resolved or wrapped in a pretty bow which I was a fan of since so many books end this way.
When I studied biomedicine in undergrad I began researching naturopathic medicine for my senior sem presentation and fell in love. I began reading this out of curiosity and am so glad I did. The truth she reveals about antidepressant effects is needed. I enjoyed the dietary recommendations she gives esp the evidence - based natural replacements she give for standard medicine.
I read this book as part of an online book club and now want my own copy. Everyone needs to read this book. This book is so good as it highlights how you are your own responsibility and not to takes things personally, etc. it's short but I had to re-read and soak it in because the words were so wise.
This book started off strange and I was unable to finish it. The title doesn't give the reader a hint that this book is for women who have had a tough relationship with food. Nor does the title tell you that the program the author takes women through is often focused on weight loss.
This was my first nonfiction book of Sue's and I loved it. I gobbled this book up and highly recommend it.
