This is a book about a little girl and her dog. She has an idea of the most magnificent thing to make. She tries and tries but cannot seem to get it right. She gets madder and madder until her dog makes her step away from the problem. This book illustrates how sometimes you need to step away from a problem and then come back at it another direction with a fresh mind and then you can accomplish what you set out to do. The illustrations were really cute. This is a good book for all the perfectionists out there.
This was a cute story about a boy who wants to be a dinosaur but then finds out being a little boy is good too, so good the dinosaur now wants to be a little boy. The illustrations were very nice and the pacing was really good for a young child. Giving them time to come up with their own answers to the questions about the pictures.
Synopsis: Alexis Stone's family is moving far away from her current home. She is 16 and unhappy about it. Her best friend Natalie is helping her and they stop to play an old console game that they loved called Dreamscape. It is all pretend right? Alex gets pulled into the game and now has to become the Golden Hero and has to save the Queen. But it is not all fun and games anymore it is real. You can get hurt and it is hard to know who to trust. She allies herself with Arrow who helps her learn about Lockhorn and the dangers that lurk around every corner.
My View: Alex starts out in the story to be a bit of a brat. She learns a lot about the “real world” and what really is important. She grows quite a bit in the story to a character you are rooting for.
This book is a safe book for younger readers as it has no sexual content. Some kissing but that's about it.
I was given this book for free for an honest opinion and review
The story is set 15 years after “Genesis” happened many mortals were turned into magical creatures. Many died and many were left the same. This event causes vampires, faeries, angels, werewolves and many other combinations of creatures to be formed.
Marion Garin is a half Mage/half Angel and apparently has very strong powers. The only problem is she wakes up in the hospital without her memory and assassins out to kill her. Dr. Lucas Flynn is the doctor treating her and helps her find some of her magic and stay alive in the process. Marion does not know who to trust as nobody is as they seem.
I really enjoyed this book and look forward to the next one in the series.

In the world the book is set in Magic has been deemed dangerous and illegal.
Carmen is a low level witch (or so she believes). Her friend Ellie and her grandmother Louise are mortals and are in trouble. They are being devoured by a soul-sucking spell. Carmen is trying to find a way to cure them without getting in trouble. In walks Dylan who works for the MBH (Magic Buster Hunters). He has been sent to investigate a stash of magic items being held in the Library basement. He knows something is up with Carmen but cannot quite put his finger on it. But she does looks really good in that skirt. He fights is attraction to Carmen and Carmen uses it to gain access to the magic items in the basement. If Carmen doesn't fix this spell it can spread and affect others and destroy the world if only she could fight her attraction to Dylan.
The title is a bit off putting and really does not tell you much of what the book is about. The book was a bit of a slow build but by the middle I enjoyed it and wanted to find out what would happen.
I received this book free in exchange for an honest review.

It is 2256 and the world is going to pieces.
Syl (short for Sylvia) is a young woman in a post apocalyptic world where the human/bug hybrids will kill and eat you especially if you wander away from safety at night.
Bastion is from a different but same post apocalyptic world that is run by androids and where human emotions are considered glitches and then destroyed.
Syl and Bastion's worlds collide and they must somehow work together to get out of this alive. Syl finds out you cannot always trust your friends and sometimes you can trust an android, something she thought she would never see.
This is the first book of a series named “The Kepler Chronicles”. I am looking forward to seeing what happens in the next story and where it will go from here.

This book is divided into sections making it easy to find what you need.
Part one deals with assessing what your basics are for your family. She gives advice on how prep your kitchen in the tools you will need and use. From simple to fancy depending on your needs.
The second part is the recipes. They are simple and straightforward and can be tweaked to suit your family. They cover Chicken, Beef, Seafood, Desserts, Vegetables, etc. Plenty of pictures as well.
The third part is about resources for organic sources found in the supermarkets and online. Very comprehensive.
This book would be a great gift for a beginner and advanced cook. Easy to understand wording and instructions.

There are over 40 patterns to crochet. These include hats, shawls, blankets, women's tops, baby clothes, handbags and doilies. They are beginner to intermediate in difficulty. I really like couple of them to make very shortly. There are color pictures to show the patterns clearly. The instructions give the yarn that is used in the display model as well as the type of yarn. ie. worsted, sport etc. The instructions also give the number of hours it would take to make the item.

This is a very comprehensive book on using a smoker for cooking. Melissa Cookston gives great instruction on all the different ways to use a smoker, expensive and inexpensive. Then she goes on to give a lot of recipes for Rubs and sauces. Then gives recipes and tips on cooking chicken, pork, beef and seafood using these as a basis for them. I've marked a number of them to try myself. I don't use a smoker but I can use the recipes as a great basis for using a slow cooker or oven. There are recipes for sides and desserts as well.
I was given an ARC for free in return for an honest review.
This is a story about three young women who do not have any memory of who they are, not even their names. They soon figure out they have magic gifts. They remember they are “Firesouls”, and that they need to keep that hidden from the world because they will be put into a prison for the rest of their lives or killed. They also have some other “Magica” gifts as well that they use to set up a shop call “Ancient Magic”. This is how they make their living.
This is the first book of what I assume to be a trilogy. The first one is about Cass a Mirror Mage. She can borrow another's magic gift but since she always blows things up she tries not to use it. She is very good at using weapons instead. She uses her Firesouls gift (which is a dragon's love of treasure) to find other objects that people want.
In walks Aiden, a handsome shifter, who wants her to find “The Scroll of Truth” which then starts an adventure that could end in her death, prison, in love or all three.
The book is very well written, paced nicely and totally intrigued me. I'm looking forward to the other stories in this series.
P.S. This book contains no sex so it is safe for younger readers.
I enjoyed this book. The series keeps getting better with each book. In this one we are seeing the romance blooming between Peabody and McNab even if Dallas does not want to hear or think about it. Roarke and Dallas are such a great couple, they seem so real. Especially when Roarke puts his foot in his mouth occasionally.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I did not want it to end. It is a very quick read. There is no heavy romance or sex in this book making it ideal for younger readers, but a well written story for adults as well.
Honoria lost her parents in the 911 attacks. Her aunt and uncle move her and her brother to a small farming town named “Arnn”. There is an area in “Arnn” called “Witchwood Hollow” which everyone tells her not to go in or your won't come out.
The book time travels back and forth between 2001, 1800's and 1600's, telling different stories of three different girls lives and winding them together in the end.
Sofia Claremont who is an orphan being raised by her best friends parents go on vacation to Cancun. She is kidnapped along with a number of others to be part of the Harem for Derek Novak who is the leader of this particular clan of vampires. She is taken to the Shade an island where it never gets light because of a spell from a witch. Of course Sofia and Derek form a strong bond. It was a quick read and I'll be looking for the next in the series.
I was given this book free for an honest review. This is a short story that is very complete. I actually would love it to be expanded a bit. The story starts with Sabella as a child who is a government project and can shape shift into a domestic cat. She grows up and becomes a college teacher and finds love and romance with the daughter of her handler from the program. The story is very well written and believable. In this book they included 20 other short stories as well. Not all are f-f but they are enjoyable as well.
This is in the Harlequin Nocturne series. Gideon Raintree is a homicide detective that has special powers that his entire Raintree line has although some have slight different ones. Gideon can talk to the dead. He uses this gift to solve his cases. Hope is assigned as his new partner. The Raintrees are targeted by Ansara wizards who want their powers or have them dead. Gideon winds up having to protect Hope as she finds out his secret and is targeted by Ansara as well.
The main character draws comics and has been having dreams of a gorgeous guy but he is the one giving her ideas for her comic book. Then they seem to be coming true in real life. In between two guys who love her and trying to prove herself innocent she has her hands full.
This is a fairly quick read. I sometimes wanted to smack Shay up side the head. She sort of gets a little bit annoying going back and forth from guy to guy. This ends on a cliff hanger so be sure to have the next book ready. I think I know what is causing the dreams. She was given an antique writing pen set. Perhaps it has powers of its own
