This is a nice self help book that will answer a majority if not all your questions and will basically reassure you that you are normal! I would recommend this book to anyone who is feeling like they are not comfortable in their bodies. This book is offered more towards straight women but I feel like some of the information in this book could be useful to anyone. This book, to me, feels quite repetitive. I was listening the the audio book and sometimes I thought it had repeated the cd because I felt like I heard everything before. If there is ever an abridged version of this book I think I would have given that a higher rating.

I enjoyed this book very much because it discussed feelings and experiences of a young adult trying to find his place in life. The quote “We accept the love we think we deserve.” from this book has stuck with me ever since I had read it. You can pick this book up from the Colona Public Library! ~Ashley

So, this book I feel is filled with too many characters off the bat that I didn't really care about. They introduce them at the beginning like harlettes, bunch of circus performer freak types, and a roller derby group if I remember right? The story is super flat, it's pretty plot-less and is just kinda a funny adventure. I think some people would like this and some may not. The art on the other hand is fantastic! ~Ashley

On the surface this book is fun but when you look a bit deeper I got a couple of problems.

The things I liked... 1) I liked that is was more modern! It's kinda refreshing I know Wonder Woman has traditional been in WW2 so I really like the feeling of her arriving at a more modern age which honestly makes more sense to me. 2) I really like that Wonder Woman has a female champion lover. I like to think WW is at least Bi so this change was really welcome. The only complaint is that they did ever interact with each other, like if it was not mentioned specifically I would have never known. 3) Amazons have modern/future type tech.! I like this a lot because of course there are female scientists that will continue to improve life on Paradise Island. 4) I actually really like the geek life sorority girls meeting up and partying and dragging WW around. Wish there was more fun scenes with them though.

Things I didn't like really really stood out and over powered everything I did like... 1) All the body shaming. WW would defiantly not body shame the other women, this is entirely out of character and really disrespectful. Generally, it seems like they have no idea of how to write women through-out the comic. 2) Amazon's use a lot of bondage? This idea is weird...because it's basically done to sexualize the amazons but the worst part is WW tries to give Steve Trevor (Who's black in this story) a collar. This is a really really badly made slavery joke. 3) They fail at making diversity. I like that Steve Trevor is Black but they fail to give him lines. He didn't even feel like a character It just feels like he was there to make a disgusting slavery joke and then use slavery as a plot point later when he is on trail about why he would protect the amazons. And shouldn't there be more colored amazons because I only counted one. If you're going to add diversity, it needs to be done respectfully and actually add them! ~Ashley

I see many kids enjoy this book, I can see the appeal! She's a sassy tomboy type of girl with a unicorn best friend! This reads like a traditional newspaper comic where each page has the joke and the set ups continue through the volume. The illustrations are pretty fun and they teach you how to draw the characters in the book we have. I'll probably skip the rest of these myself, but If your looking for something fun for a young reader I highly recommend these books. ~Ashley

The illustrations in this book are amazing, they are extremely cute and expressive and you can easily spend time admiring these characters or re-read just to see them again. The story is really simple and fun, where sometimes a good person can make a mistake and make another feel bad. The girl spends most of her time trying to find away to apologize to a kind boy she pushed. They end up being fast friends, but they are in rival clubs that are competing for a table at a school event. This book was really an enjoyable fast read with a lot of nice characters and situations that are both silly and a few more serious. A lot of middle grade readers are enjoying this book now and I can see why! I recommend! ~Ashley

I had fun reading this book, it's just really charming! The illustrations are cute and the plot was pretty good. I love the ending but [ I wish they pushed the guy being a jerk a little bit further! I was glad they got their revenge, but I didn't think he quite deserved to be plagiarized and left being alone and “dead”. (hide spoiler)] All in all, it's not worth it to stay with jerks that's for sure! ~Ashley

I really enjoyed the art in this book! I looked through the book studying the details of the illustrations before I even started reading. I like the writing because it makes Cinderella into an ambitious rocketeer! Although the writing seems to jump right to conclusion which makes me feel like I missed a page. ~Ashley

Ah, I think I'm really going to like this book. This was a great start and I like dynamics and relationships going on between the main two characters especially. How interesting it can be where the deaf girl was once welcomed and everyone wanted to help her then she just kinda interrupted their schedule and became an inconvenience which lead to the others tolerance of her being bullied or bullying her themselves. Interesting also to see that her main bully (and our man character) did bully her but also became a scapegoat for students to blame and became bullied and isolated himself. AH! This isn't even the whole book! The obvious theme her is bullying but I feel this could be a blown out discussion. Is it his fault? Could she have done something more? The teacher (who sucks btw) is to be to blamed? Is bullying a part of life? He has such a kind and nice mom, why is he bullying people? Did the students that started to ignore the problem become the problem? There is such a discussion to be had here which I think would be really nice for students or parents to really take a look at this book. So, if any of you want to read this and talk to me I would be so delighted!

The story and the art work is really what make this stand out. The characters aren't exactly likable or un-likeable (they only have a couple of characteristics) because I think they were working more on the plot and story. ~Ashley

This was pretty good and if you like the podcast I think you will enjoy this book too. The setting is in Nightvale and it's about a couple of citizens just living their everyday lives in a strange town where strange things happen. You also get Cecil in a couple of bits and if you listen to the audiobook he also is the narrator for the book. You can really see how much the citizens of Nightvale trust Cecil even though he's in this book occasionally.

I'm about episode 8 of the podcast and you don't need to know the podcast to get into the story, you can jump right in! It's pacing is a little slow sometimes but everything that is strange is explained in a very clear way. I had no questions about how anything, there was no fuzzy explanations about strange events that happen. Nice book maybe I'll be getting back into the podcast soon! ~Ashley

Most of these stories are kinda amusing or just kinda meh for me. The thing I really like is that they get some aspects of superman in there I really really love and are just perfect. I like seeing superman playing fetch with krypto, having superman fly Lois' car to the fortress of solitude, and my favorite story in this graphic novel was when Clark Kent was doing his interview with Lex! I love seeing Luthor being extra (that whole gym scene!) and just completely falling head over heels for Clark Kent and at the same time complaining about Superman. What at cool juxtaposition. There is a few other small bits that I like and I feel like they understand the character despite the some of the stories being meh. I think this was worth the read, especially for the Clark Kent and Lex Luthor story! ~Ashley

This is probably my all time favorite batgirl! This book has a brainy capable female protagonist and also have a ton of diversity AND current issues throughout the volume. We all know Babs is smart but in this volume you get to visually see her intelligence! You see her visually retrace her steps when she has to think about a party, you get to see her take out BLACK RIOT (a villain about issues of online privacy) out by using a QR code, and while saving the world she is trying to save her research thesis from her when her computer crashed! The art for this graphic novel is what made me fall in love at first glance It deserves 5 stars for the art alone!

Great batgirl that I strongly recommend! What an awesome hero! Batgirl of Burnside and Ms.Marvel are my top comics recently.

Horror breaks out in an ikea! Kinda a horror parody

This is the most casual type of horror I've read, you basically you follow witches in their everyday lives just casually dressing up to meet with Satan, or messing with dark magic, or preparing dinner, which is probably a body they had lying around. Sabrina is still very likeable despite this dark twist and I originally thought this was going to be a continuation of what happened to Sabrina in Afterlife with Archie, Vol. 1: Escape from Riverdale this is a completely separate story. The art style is probably my favorite part of reading this it is incredibly unique. ~Ashley

This is kinda a confusing and cute book. The cute is from the illustrations and how hard Sophia works on her presentations to get a giraffe for her birthday. She tailors each presentation to her family in order to get them on board to get the giraffe but in the end they all tell her to get to the point and talk less...which is the confusing part. I think it's strange thing to tell her when she is so passionate. I think this book at the end is just to show the importance of please and thank you. ~Ashley

The crayons are back and have all gathered together to write their concerns. You are reading the letters they wrote to their person and each of them have something unique to say and some are a bit sassy. In the end they are heard out and all used more creatively! ~Ashley

I am honestly surprised by how much i enjoyed this book. At first i was a little put off by the greaser gang. This book quickly grew on me I really loved Ponyboy and how observant he was and his point of view . I like listening to his descriptions of his friends made them very likeable. This book is a coming of age story from a character I wouldn't have expected and I highly recommend! ~Ashley

A nice first volume... A girl is bought by a magical skull headed man who want a powerful apprentice and also a bride. It's hard to tell if he is kidding at the bride part, I really hope so...The world is getting interesting and the illustration is really good. ~Ashley

This is a really fun book the illustrations remind me of some of the illustrations from the ARCHIE Sonic the Hedgehog comic series, which is so unique and enjoyable.

Don't expect any more details for the plot of the show. These are just fun steven adventures that don't have any hint about the diamond authority or the mystery that surrounds the crystal gems. If you need a break from the emotional roller coaster that can be Steven universe (the T.V. Show) then this book is a delightful adventure! You can pick up this book at the Colona Public Library! ~Ashley

Ok, this was a great book to read! I'm currently planning a wedding and wanted a bit more of a broad brush- more philosophy type of gathering book aside from the planning details that keep being thrown at me. This was a breath of fresh air and really awesome!
Aside from planning we get together to play games or D&D and I think this will help me lead a group better and keep them on track more!

Some big things I took away: Chill kills the vibe, it's important to have a purpose and to not be indecisive. This kinda explains why going to one of my family gathering is so hard becuase of the indecisive “chill” what ever you want attitude they take.
Be a gracious authority and look out for the good of the group.
Make an ending - the proper way to end the night, don't let it linger out
Identify the purpose!

Just excellent! If you plan events (like a library - which is why it's also a career book for me), d&d games, and personal events.

It's just super meh - I wanted so much more than this story and character can give me. Great premise though I would be interested in an updated version of this perhaps?
