This really didn't have a lot for me. If you like Miles and Gwen together with a spiderverse vibe this would be worth the try! ~Ashley

I really loved this. The illustrations are really amazing (and ADORABLE) and I really like the idea of making friends with a ghost that could last your lifetime and more. If you happen to have a kid who is morbidly interested, afraid of ghosts (to approach ghosts in a friendly way for them), or even a Halloween read this will quickly become a favorite. I'm actually very curious to see what kids think of the ending. I thought it was sweet, but I can also seeing it being a bit scary? Really something to think and maybe have a discussion with them. I really can't wait to send this out and talk to kids about the ending to see what they thought. ~Ashley

It kinda reminds me of a music video? I got that vibe at the end of the book with the info card on the bottom left. I think this would really work if it was animated, it would be really colorful and high energy, as a book it just feels a little stiff. If you happen to be learning about nutrition or rhyming I would definitely give this book a go! ~Ashley

It's cute! I just skimmed it

Nice book with cute illustrations. A prince looking for love doesn't find it until and dragon enters his kingdom! He cares for his kingdom and finds that a Knight has arrived to help defend it too! Little does he know, that this could be the love he's been searching for! ~Ashley

I love Ask a Mortician and I also love Smoke Gets in Your Eyes: And Other Lessons from the Crematory so I was counting down for this book to get here! I got to finish all of it uninterrupted on my plane trip and it was amazing. I am familiar with Paul Koudounaris and his works, such asMemento Mori: The Dead Among Us, but his books have small print and are harder to read, this book was really amazing to read all about other cultures way of celebrating death and their rituals for the dead.

This was a great book and I learned so much about other's death cultures and a little bit more about cultures that I was somewhat more familiar with. My favorite chapter is about the pyre in Colorado, The Monks caring for ashes in Japan, and the natitas skulls in Bolivia...but really all the book's chapters are captivating. I highly recommend! ~Ashley

One of those where I lost track of what was happening - I was expecting a bigger reveal for the elf king but was not disappointed by his appearance.

I really like this character and her powers. She has some interesting things going on,but I feel like this volume was just pieced together? I felt kinda lost half the time and found myself skimming ahead to the end. She seems like such an interesting person, but I just could not connect with her story. Not a great way to start off, if I have time I might read the next volume. The art (especially in the first half or so) Is really nice, so giving some props to that and some other super hero cameos!

Give this a read for yourself! ~Ashley

The story is very cute, characters likable, and art is really great! It's great to see so much representation in a book, and such a unique story where it was young love and it didn't get acted upon until much later in their lives. It's never too late to make yourself happy! It's very refreshing to see an older couple and their love story.

As much as I enjoyed this, the writing took me out of it sometimes. There is a part where Hazel and her husband are addressing their relationship, where they kinda drop it and say to read a digital version of the issue? I'm not sure if this bit of the chapter will be added in later editions of the book? That would keep the flow. I really liked Hazel and I wish we got two perspectives and got her partners history as well. I felt really distant from her. OR! How about the next volume could be through Mari's perspective! It would break my heart to see her side of her life, love of Hazel, memory loss, and mortality, but it would be incredible to read.

Definitely a really short and lovely story! I highly recommend this book! ~Ashley

A coming of age story for our character Xiomara, a girl growing up trying to find her voice. Although, she expresses herself through her writings it's her wanting to be able to freely express herself and have a life that reflects that. I would recommend this book on audio, the narrator did a fantastic job. ~Ashley

If you are familiar with DC characters and Looney Tunes characters this will probably be a silly read. The art was pretty good through the book, interesting re-telling of Looney Tunes characters mashed-up with DC characters. If you are not familiar with either of the characters then It's probably worth skipping. ~Ashley

Ruby want to visit her Grandma...and runs into all the animals that are a part of the Chinese new year!! The illustrations in this were really colorful and adorable. The story is a simple tale where she meets all the animals and they decide to visit grandma. There is more information about the animals, Chinese new year, and a few crafts in the back of the book! I thought this was a pretty nice read. I really love seeing these team ups and I find the stories really well put together. I liked the first volume a little better, I did really enjoy this and I look forward to see the next volume.

If you are a big batgirl fan, you'll be excited to see (view spoiler) and see she still has some Oracle chops! And if you are big batgirl fan, you'll also be enraged that her cape did not snap off and the “this is why I don't wear capes” comment is actually inaccurate because of the capes design to snap off as a catch pre-caution. See Batgirl, Vol. 1: Batgirl of Burnside in the costume design notes!

It's good to get back into this series, it's one of my favorites. I LOVE the art in these books, really is nice and has a natural flow to things. There is a lot to balance here for Ms. Marvel, superhero-ing, school, life, community, and now a hostile political group.

This took a more serious turn, as the volume echos some of the political atmosphere that is happening currently. I personally like this, gives readers perspective of how it is affecting other people. Also brings in a good question about being a superhero in this time. How does a hydra member being a position of community power bring/take to your super hero table. This is something I how they dive more into. I really think this comic has some good political/superhero commentary.

Train ride was a bit of a yawn? I'm glad to see Red Dagger again, I guess this is an idea issue for them to talk and connect? I'm also wondering about Ms. Marvel's time alone and how she will grow from this volume.

This is a nice little book, It showcases each plant on each page and has a nice aesthetic. The plants look really showcased in the pots. I would recommend this book if you want a quick care taking or succulents that interest you.

This is continuing from her last adventures in Japan and after the start of her new company and seeing how it affected Burnside in a negative manner. She cares a lot for her community and she decides to switch her major to library science! I'm really glad they decided to do this and the transition they took I thought was smooth and provided good character development for her. I really still love this new bat girl of Burnside version of bat girl, they show her doing problem solving and her balancing her superhero life and personal college life really well, I feel like they have equal time in the story and cover good topics for more modern problems. The art in these books still have a really nice pop of color and I feel the inspiration of Babs Tarr's past work on the art still running through the pages! The illustrations are really nice, has some great color and movement to these characters. The illustrator for this was a excellent choice.

The really only big thing that annoys me in this is the relationships, they are still making her fall in love with villains or suspicious people that she she knows she shouldn't get involved with. I feel like this would be different if it was a undercover to get information way, but it's always an actually dating type of deal. I just don't understand why because we see her intelligence through the series? If this just happens to be one of her character traits for falling for the bad guy it's kinda annoying.

Also the only plot bit that bothered me was [ If the penguin's son was jealous of Dick and Babs going on a motorcycle ride together and could see and identify the motorcyclist (or at least the bike and helmet) Then when bat girl tricked him to get him to the park and identified herself...couldn't he deduce easily bat-girls identity as Barbara? (hide spoiler)]

I was excited to see Nightwing in this book, and I hope they get together at some point. He's my fav. ~Ashley

Kinda like every biography/memoir type of book, I just kinda like it? I found this book really humorous and some very personal stories in here are very honest and open. I've almost seen Tiffany Haddish? Like, she mentions things she has done or people she has work with, which I know, but not her. I've never seen her work and I'm definitely going to watch some of her stand up after reading this! If you've seen her, I think it would be a different and a fun experience reading it in her voice.

If your humor doesn't involve strong language, I would probably give this a skip. Otherwise, have a good time with this book! ~Ashley

I highly recommend the audio book! narrated by David Tennant and he has a great time and does a fantastic job. I gave it an extra star because of the narration.

Read the 1st book because I love the movie series so much I wanted to know more about the source material

This has such gorgeous and elegant artwork that goes amazingly well with a re-telling of Little Red Riding Hood through a small wolf's perspective. This re-telling is basically it's own story unique gives off an unique fairy tale vibe immediately. A small wolf is warned by his mother not to trust any humans, he gets lost and a small girl tricks him. He learns a story of what happen to her mother through the girls perspective and once he escapes he learns the story through the wolves' perspective. The story had the possibility of continuing but stops it at that point and leaves you imagining more.
Fantastic story! Fantastic artwork through the whole book! I highly recommend! ~Ashley

I had no idea this was about an actual person when I read a quick preview. This was an interesting story about Christophe André being held hostage. With no real explanation why except perhaps for ransom money. I really admired his courage and tenacity during this whole ordeal. I liked that he could keep his level head to keep track of the days and to also find an opportunity to escape. I think the illustrations fit nicely with this story. ~Ashley

This is a story about a man who has a house that is in bad shape because of a bad wind and a little girl who takes the initiative to think of a solution and lend a helping hand. The illustrations are really cute in this book and I love how you watch the trees grow to indicate the passing of time. They show the girl and the man much older enjoying what they worked on with a picnic! This would be a great book for earth day because it talks about the importance of trees! ~Ashley
