I'm planning a wedding and I've had to revaluate a lot of things in my life and what really matters to me. I based this book of the title alone thinking I was going to maybe get some tips to fix some of my behavior or just letting things go and giving slack to people I care about helping me with an event I care about. (like, no one will as invested in your wedding as you...ya know), things going as planned or not as planned... You know.
I feel so superficial now thinking this, little did I know that this book will change my life. I've changed my outlook - I can't explain it but It feels like this book was made for me at this time.
I've been trying to change things about myself but I'm approaching it to like obliterated instead of learning to manage and use it to my advantage. This idea was really striking to me. Learning that joy is not conditional, and there was a segment about suicide. The suicide chapter was what I needed.

“I'll never get what I want - I'll lose what I have” was my biggest revelation. Living in this state of constant fear and depression is what has lead me to really powerful suicidal thoughts since like 2022 - I've told my partner this year about them when I started to plan. I never could put into words my dread - but this is it. It's this circle of “I'll never get what I want - I'll lose what I have” is basically my drive.

This book has changed me. Excellent read - embrace your perfectionism instead of tearing yourself to pieces.

This is my first Danielle Steel book, I've seen her be really popular at the library. I'm also getting married so I thought I'd give her a try! It's a 1.5 for me.
This has a nice perspective for a down-on their luck in love wedding planner and her observations into other peoples love lives. It's really an interesting perspective on the romance genre side, I thought this was a great premise!

It's nice, I wish there was a little more nuance besides she was engaged twice and things didn't work out...until they did! It's fine, it's a romance. I LOVE her stance on no children...but then basically the entire book is about having children! If you have tokophobia like I do then you'll skip many sections of this book entirely. I wouldn't recommend. Because what starts off as a little, then turns into A LOT and there is description.

Readers have said this felt repetitive and I agree. I think some of it is that it's just visiting the situations over and over again and nothing much has drastically changed so then revisiting them feel like a wedding planners “right on track” kinda planning style. It was ok, I had this on x3 speed so it flew by.

A fast paced, light hearted - but dramatic - story about a simple girl and her dragon friends. This is one of those fairy tale type of reads that Juv. can do especially well - I was completely charmed by this book! Oh, if you liked this try out [b:Dealing with Dragons 150739 Dealing with Dragons (Enchanted Forest Chronicles, #1) Patricia C. Really cute and heartwarming story - I hope i'm this librarian for someone. The authors note is especially nice and they did end up finding their librarian that helped changed their life and bring them into a welcoming place!

The library makes me feel rich too!

I learned a lot just by flipping through this book, has some really unique styles and how to with flowers! Very inspired looking!

A kids adventure book with lovely water colors. These kids are climbing a mountain on their own!

A great book, really maybe the only food pantry book i've seen for kids. A great story about getting food and knowing there is nothing wrong with needing or accepting help. The art is charming!

At my library there is a food pantry drop off station to help supplement donations. The food pantry is such a great source and could use some support.

Visiting families and connecting with food!

This is pretty good, I've never listened to the podcast before - I only have heard of Emily by this book. - Rating is closer to a 4 than a 3. - probably like a 3.7 for me.

I really liked this, I've been thinking about working harder on un-learning and relearning about sex education. My sex education was basically nothing except church shame, TV/Society badness, slut shaming culture, and then also no lgbt+ learning at all (This doesn't really go over that a ton - it's most focuses on address persons as what parts they own. This probably sits with people differently but I thought it was ok. ) A great book, I think it covers a good amount and I would say pretty skippable if you weren't interested in a section.

The only thing that didn't sit well with me was that one chapter she shames a person for having a boundary for giving bj's ... but later goes into more depth about boundaries and un-ravelign trauma kinda deals. These chapters are great - i'm not sure why the bj one was so out of place, it really shouldn't have even been included or it should have been talked about much later in the book. Besides that - ok. Just seemed hypocritical which I couldn't get out of my head through the book.

Anyway, if you're on a journey like me - good read! I wish it addressed culture a little more, but solid read.

I thought nothing really happened in this book and It was over quickly and I wanted something more from it. I think as a series this will probably improve over that time. I really want to see this lean hard into the fantasy element! Some old school vibes in here and I think it still has a few gems to offer. I re-read this not too long ago and wanted to make sure it was on my list. Great adventure, I even remember reading this when I was in elementary school.

Great story, and I think a lot of kids get excited about dragons that It is also a great story about when a responsibility is too big to handle and what the right thing to do might be. Creative and fun story!

Not my cup of tea - I left this unfinished.

This author made a very careless rape joke about 2nd story in with the influencer/cave-man story. Humor is subjective, some times it's funny and sometimes it's not. I did like the dinner party/murder short story though.

This was a very personal memoir and it doesn't cut corners and it takes everything face on. So, there are some upsetting sexual assault that happen to this author. I felt thrown in and I wish I was a bit more prepared - so keep this in mind. It was an emotional story about how we are just thrown into woman-hood so suddenly. Elegantly put, well considered, and raw reading. Fantastic. If you liked this you might also like [b:Tastes Like War 56047271 Tastes Like War Grace M. A bit of Invader Zim plus Scary God Mother and a spark of inspiration from the author this is such a unique and great read! I think this could be so easily animated, clearly the author had a lot of time to get the nuance of these characters. I could really feel them being friends for a while - it's great!

A good handle on art style and story this was really a once and a while gem!

I always like books like this because they are simple and allow me to just slow down. To slow down a bit when i'm reading and kinda also as a life reminder? It's a cute and quick read.

Probably my first proper romantasy title. It's closer than a one then a two star, but there had some promising set-ups and a few things I really liked. For example, I like how the main character has Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) and the author also has this. I just finished reading [b:Sitting Pretty: The View from My Ordinary Resilient Disabled Body 52167161 Sitting Pretty The View from My Ordinary Resilient Disabled Body Rebekah Taussig https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1582074044l/52167161.SX50_SY75.jpg 68010691] where this author talks about growing up without disability representation - especially in romance!! So, after reading that and coming back to Fourth Wing really made me appreciate this aspect tremendously. - Some notes on this, I knew she had a disability but I didn't know the specifics? Or what was happening to our character? I thought it was a plot device type of thing until I got to the saddle/accommodation portion of the book before I thought to look up if the author had this and could do representation. I think the author should take more time with this because I want to know what EDS is like and the journey with this character. -Surprise! For some reason - despite a war/injury being abundant- the worldbuilding/college is really very ableist. I was hoping there would be something more deep to say about this, but nothing yet. The closest thing we had was a dragon saddle portion. The dragons are awesome. I like them and we don't get to see them a ton, but so far I like the personality. Those are the things I liked; I really had a hard time liking this book. I kept getting pulled along by some set up that diminished. Mostly I thought the editing could use a bit more time and I had trouble liking the main character. I couldn't explain it, but the book just oozed with military life vibes (despite the story set up) and so when I also saw that the author was an army wife and this character is obviously a self-insert. Which is fine - you write what you know...but I just can't see this book breaking surface level plot. I could nitpick more stuff - but nah. This book was an ok read. I don't regret reading it and at times I thought it was fun. It's def. not the worst book, it's just fun for a lot of people and that's cool. There are some great set ups, but so far they feel like empty promises. I'm going to give book 2 a try and see where things go. I'm hoping that the world has been set up that now a bigger story could take place! This book deserves a 2nd chance.

Rebekah really opens her heart into this book and I'm glad she did. Truly this is a must read and will help open your mind and thoughts in a disability perspective.
She also includes other disability creators to continue to support check out and I thought that was great to include while she captured the audience.
Well written and the audiobook was great!

Such a sweet solstice story with nice ritual and artwork!

A graphic novel horror that is a great read, it's a one shot that can be finished quickly. It also has some great artwork that makes it a real treat! They don't shy away from making things a darker tone and I think the monster does look quite scary! This is comfortably a J novel for mature readers - YA would enjoy as well. It's a one shot, but I thought the pacing was a little off. It has a great start and tries to flesh out the characters best it can in a short amount of time, but does kind a drop out a bit in the end for me.
I've been reading some complaints about the bully, but I actually liked her bit of story/background. And I like the kindness that was extended to her at the end too. All the characters will be a bit troupe-y and it works!

I love the 2 bff main characters - they work so well together. I love a graphic novel staring a Trans character and a openly Autistic characters.
I thought the Autistic character was great - i'd like to hear someone from the community's thoughts on her. If i'm picking up what the author is trying to portray is the monster being a concept of Autism - or a “demonized” version. I thought this was a really powerful portrayal. Again, it was our main character that also has autism to help guide this creature and befriending it. I hear a lot of how helpful it is to have a mentor and friendship and this story really does this well.

It's was a fine read! Great theme for winter and gripping premise, I finished it.
The writing style was a bit hard for me to follow along?

This kind of bounces around a bit I feel, but it's all really great information. I took a few of these technique for myself and my partner (the 6 sec. kiss and 20 sec. hug) that i've been keeping up with and it's just very nice.

They talk a lot of society stressors too. It's got more of a female focus but I think there are a lot of helpful things in here for general interest.

It's more of a 3 star, but since i've found some great things that i've been using I bumped it up to a 4!

Wow, I am blown away from the excellent art and the representation for holiday figures in this book! It's a nice sturdy board book with flaps that mesh really well to continue the art work theme. Very thoughtful.

There is a part when Krampus goes down the chimney to greet some children that could be up for readers interpretation of the scene. This interpretation works well if you have decided if the children are naughty/nice I suppose, it's a fun thing to include! If you got the impression that Krampus beat the children for being naughty it was really ambiguous and up to interpretation so makes it well suited for the age group and reader because no violence is show, just a change of scene after his arrival. Really creative!

I'm just impressed with this book!

I am thrilled to have added representation in a LGBT comics/erotica and with quality illustrations.

I'm surprised because I've seen this author work/illustrate other things and this one didn't hit the mark. Seems to have 9 characters and in a 100pg book that gives about 10 pages to each. - I feel like I'm missing whole gaps of information. I don't expect like a whole plot, but enough for it to make sense of what's happening (convention) and who my characters are!

This feels like maybe book in a series, but it seems to be a stand alone title? If there is a series with more about plot/characters let me know
