I'm trying out romance as a genre, I'm not a fan of romance typically so keep in mind my review is probably a bit bias because of that.
I think this needs to be trimmed down, it feels repetitive and that makes it feel stuck? I think the pace/plot could be adjusted to move along a bit more. I had my audiobook from libby on x3 speed most of the time.
I liked how the main character had fatigue syndrome. I have hypersomnia and I feel like we have some similar obstacles and it was nice to see that.
It's an ok read! Great to get you in the mood for the winter holidays!
I am obsessed. This is the same author from [b:I Want My Hat Back 11233988 I Want My Hat Back Jon Klassen https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1327888784l/11233988.SX50.jpg 16160067] which has such a style with the expressive eyes and sort of a darker tone - this hits it and really has a lot of time to expand on it. It is such a strange story and i'm fascinated by it - i'm still thinking of it!I love the author's notes especially, a nice love letter to libraries and also folk-tales. One of my favorites before the end of the year!
Well written, compassionate, and nicely researched. I've learned a lot about the autism community and maybe a bit more about myself. Our work recently is working towards providing kits to be a friendlier environment to those with Autism and I realized that the classes/webinar series wasn't really helpful to the personal side of things, so I wanted to start learning about the real people and the community I will be serving.
Excellent read!
I read this so quickly! This book is semi-autobiographical and has a cutesy art style that I think kids would like. I thought it looked a bit like a newspaper art style or something like Phoebe and the Unicorn type of style. It's not at all a bad style, just didn't connect with me as much.
A slice of life and discovering identity on a family and wide scale. She faces many small hardships like sharing a room/family drama to islamophobia in her life.
It's a good story and I would rec. as a quick read!
Somehow Scott Pilgrim has persisted for a long time with the popularity of the graphic novel, live action, and now new netflix show.
Scott, who is a loser but somehow really likeable even though you aren't really suppose to like him? We follow him through what we think will be a slice of life - but it hits you with strange fantasy elements that aren't maybe out of place - they just are! An interesting world, great layout, expressive characters really make the graphic novel stand out!
I'm finally reading it for the first time!
Great read, very insightful for someone who is learning. It was an great audiobook. Reminds me a bit of [b:The Heartbeat of [book:The Heartbeat of Wounded Knee: Native America from 1890 to the Present 36620482 The Heartbeat of Wounded Knee Native America from 1890 to the Present David Treuer https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1513714679l/36620482.SY75.jpg 58380027]and [b:Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You 52220686 Stamped Racism, Antiracism, and You Jason Reynolds https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1568739320l/52220686.SX50_SY75.jpg 73010857]
I learned a lot more than I ever knew, this book is worth picking up. I got the YA version because I thought maybe it would be an easier audiobook read while i'm at work but I might as well have gotten the full book. I rec. and if you liked this book you may also like something like [b:Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You 52220686 Stamped Racism, Antiracism, and You Jason Reynolds https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1568739320l/52220686.SX50_SY75.jpg 73010857]
