Whilst I enjoyed reading this book, for me, it wasn't a 5* read. The plot is straightforward and the good characters are very likeable and the bad ones not so much it almost feels a bit formulaic. There weren't any plot twists and you usually knew what was going to happen before it did. Having said all that I do like the characters and the story and did enjoy reading the book, I just felt it wasn't as gripping as it could have been and was missing something.

I will read the next installment as I've bought it but not sure about continuing the series.

I love Jodi Taylor books and for 3/4 of this book really enjoyed the story and the characters and their wonderful interaction.

But, despite having a pretty good idea of how it would all end, I was quite disappointedin the final resolution. It wasn't so much the way it got resolved, but more the telling of it and the dialog. I felt the whole books vibe completely changed almost into a Carry on Film.

It felt like two completely different styles of writing.

But, I would read the next installment and I did overall enjoy it. It lost a star for this final part.

A very interesting world with great characters and a good relationship between the heroes. A bit of a scooby doo ending but enjoyable nonetheless.

For me this was not as good as the first two. Enjoyable all the same though.

A very strange series of events unfolds for Elizabeth Cage and sometimes these seemed to bizarre for me, but I just love all the relationships and banter between the characters. Fabulous.

Lovdd the characters and the relationships, very interesting idea too. Not so sure about the ending but book 2 is calling...

Disappointing. Whilst I enjoy the characters in this series and really like Robert and Lucy I feel the world they live in is so Disneyfied as to make the book just too unreal for me. I'm afroad I won't be continuingthe series.

Another slow adventure with a good ending.

I semi enjoyed these, they're too short but in most of the episodes they capture the doctor well. I just felt thr plots didn't have enough time to develop and felt a bit underwhelming.

The best of the books so far. Interesting plot and I still enjoy the Lucy / Major relationship interaction.

I do enjoy these but still feel that some of the conversations are forced. Something needs to be said to advance the plot so it just comes out of one of the characters mouths for no apparent reason. It's a small quibble and perhaps it's just me.

For me this was a book of two halves, the first was fun lively and interesting with some great scenes and dialog especially with Robert and Lucy, the second almost seemed to be written by a different author and was clunky and forced with some really poor dialog and weird scenes which didn't feel believable. It's a fun story and I enjoyed it, but it was a 5 star first half and 2 star second.

Not bad but also not brilliant (!) Wilf, Donna d Sylvia seemed to be just about spot on, but I felt the doctor didn't really capture the David Tennant Doctor properly. It also felt a bit like the Doctor didn't actually do much to stop the threat either. I did enjoy it though, but felt it could have been better.

My least favourite of the series so far. The characters seemed more wooden and the story (to me) just felt a bit laboured. I felt it wasn't of the same high quality as the previous installments. I've really enjoyed the series so far apart from this one and would read the next one too though.

I didn't know if I'd like this Jodi Taylor book, but it has some of the humour of the St Mary's books and the great characters she always seems to have in her books, so I really did enjoy it after all. looking forward to seeing what happens next, but this books stands well on its own.

The main characters relationships were fun to see develop and the plot was good, but I felt toward the end the behaviour of the bad guys suddenly changed too obviously to make them easily identifiable as bad. I got this book free on an offer and its not the type of book I would normally read. Would I read the next one? Perhaps.

I really had to make myself read this as it just didn't sound my cup of tea. But Jasper Fforde could make the phone book a riveting and unpredictable unputdownable book. The man is a genius. I thoroughly enjoyed this very odd book set in a strange but familiar world. The characters were a mixed bunch of likeable, evil and just middle of the road and there so many of them at times I got a bit confused. But I'd highly recommend this and hope that the sequel does eventually come out, though this book does stand alone well.

Slow moving series, interesting and enjoyable. Looking forward to the next one.

These are slowish books with things enveloping gradually and sudden bursts of activity. I felt for this latest installment that it was a wee bit dull at times but it built nicely to a interesting conclusion. Enjoyable series.

Not quite as good as the previous installments but still an enjoyable read.

Slow moving but a good read.

Slow, but nonetheless an interesting and enjoyable read. I liked Lydia and Jason and enjoyed the plot but it could have done with a bit more oomph! It's more a 3.5 stars but I will read book 2.

I propose that Jodi Taylor be locked in her room with copious supplies of food and drink and a PC and never let our so she can keep turning out St Mary's books as I cannot stand the wait between them!

This series is brilliantly written, the humour is very British and the characters a great mix of types and talents. You fall in love with them and opening a new book in the series gives me butterfly's I'm so looking forward to reading it!

I haven't enjoyed an authors work this much since Terry Pratchett.

Another cracking Alex book. I actually thought this was going to wrap up the series at one stage and half disappointed half please it didn't.

I love the way that Alex has changed over the books. Great read.

Interesting plot and use of famous characters but this book is soooo long. I felt it could do with a lot less of characters in head conversations. Do we really need to know that a character wonders what's in a bag someone has just produced and doesn't know? Surely as they open the bag a second later we could live without that bit.

I'm afraid the ending left me seriously underwhelmed too. The final confrontation was anti climatic and just far too easy. The characters even remarked on this and you were left thinking another twist was about to materialise but it didn't.

Will I read part 3? Well I could I or I couldn't I just don't know yet he thought in his head....
