Short and quirky book about a modern man being stuck in medieval England without knowledge of who he is or why he is there. I thought him giving a star rating to every experience and item he interacts with was hilarious. His process of figuring out who he is and the different assumptions he has about his character and the way that changes as more of his memories come back to him was really well done. I enjoyed the book but it did feel a little too simple.
4.5 stars.
I received this as an ARC from Netgalley.
This book was a perfect wrap-up to The Shepherd Duology. The magic system in this duology is super unique, I love the dark gothic fantasy setting, and the plot is so well written and captivating. I love the direction book 2 went and how the plot played out. The introduction of Ravyn's and Elm's POVs gave the story more complexity and allowed us to see deeper inside the two important characters, their backstories and struggles as well as their relationships with other people, especially between Elm and Ione. We also get more insight into the Nightmares backstory and his relationship with Elspeth which I loved seeing.
My only complaint is that I wish there was more of an emotional impact at the end of the story. It felt like there was too big of a time skip between the end of climax and the epilogue without all of the feels you get from emotional reunions and reconciliations and I desperately wished for that.
Other than that, this was a great book and I will definitely be rereading the series at least once a year.
Wow this book was really different from ones I normally read but I enjoyed it nevertheless. It was a perfect blend of creepy, yet lighthearted and fun. I mean how can you not enjoy the random yet lovable blend of characters that the MC has to go on mission with to save her sister from an evil ruler.
You've got:
- An FMC who is a princess yet raised as a nun and is awkward and out of her depth
- A dog made of bones who is just happy to be there
- A bone woman who can control and see the dead
- Her demon possessed chicken
- A fairy godmother who is more predisposed to curses rather than blessings
- A golden retriever knight who is convinced he will die at by the end of the mission and has happily resigned to his fate.
The book was so fun! The plot is about a professional bridesmaid hired to do the wedding for a high profile bridezilla. She has to stay under the radar, pretend to be a close friend of the bride, and navigate her attraction to the bride's older brother while the bride wants nothing to do with her and is actively sabotaging her job. This book is first and foremost a story about female friendship and is hilarious, upbeat and was so entertaining.
How is it possible that this book was even better than the first one when Belladonna already had my whole heart! I loved the addition of Blythe's POV, loved the introduction of Fate to the story. The ending was such a rollercoaster ride... but man it was so good! And don't even get me started on how much I loved the relationship between Death and Signa. [SLOW CLAP]

A dystopian sci-fi about girl working for a corporation she thinks is doing a lot of good. When wrongfully accused of treason and forced to flee, she gets entangled with the enemy and starts finding out that maybe the corporation is not as upstanding as she thought. This books was ok. A decent YA read but felt like it lacked depth.
A sci-fi bodyguard romance between Bianca, who is trying to overcome abuse and physical trauma, and Ian who is head of security for her family. This books revolves around a cat and mouse chase across the galaxy while Bianca tries to save her brother and Ian trying to get her to come back home where she would be safe. I love the premise, the relationship in this books and can't get enough of this series!
Wow this book was so good! Heather Fawcett has really outdone herself in her top notch writing and world building. Her writing is just as descriptive and attention grabbing in this book as the first book and the characters have my entire heart! The relationship between Emily and Wendell made me so happy and I thoroughly enjoyed their banter and relationship progression. I love how complimentary their personalities are to one another and I eat up the golden retriever energy that Wendell has! I loved getting lost in this story and cannot say enough great things about it!
