Highly recommend if you're interested in learning more about self-discipline! Some parts are laughable (like his chapter on being more efficient at work - don't talk with your co-workers, arrive an hour early, work through your lunch, stay an hour late), but other chapters were super great with practical tips. Definitely going to need to read again and take notes.
Audiobook and e-book, read with a group chat of ladies.
Holy cow. So many emotions. I've never cried so hard and so much from a book. There were moments when I felt the emotions with Cee. So much love, so many lies, so much heartbreak. I love the adventures, the mystery, and the excitement. I highly recommend it! Very excited to jump into book 3.
Audiobook and e-book with a buddy read group message.
OK, I was a little nervous at first unsure what this book was about and reviews are so mixed, but holy cow this book rocked my socks. I read it in less than 2 days. VERY spicy but it was much more than my traditional romance book. Much more of a storyline and even their basic conversations make you think. One example Sean is against social media because it gives everyone a megaphone and a platform to use it!

It took me a few months to get through this book because I was borrowing it from my library and the content is so heavy.
This book is very informative, but limited practical applications for adults. It felt more like a textbook rather than a self-help book. Many examples on how to help kids learn and express their feelings and emotions, but nothing for adults, at least nothing I can recall.
Overall, it's a good book, full of tons of information on how understanding our emotions is just as important as learning math. I'd recommend if you're nerdy and love the story behind the story.
I read this devotional with a small group of ladies from church after Havilah spoke at our annual Beautiful Women's Conference. She is a great speaker and I was told she was a great author, but this book was disappointing. Even ladies in our group who have read Havilah's other book “I Do Boundaries” said that she is a great author, but this devotional was lackluster. It was surface level. The blurb and the questions felt very basic and blah. I was hoping for more scripture inclusion and teaching. Overall I am blessed for the time spent with the group of ladies and the intimate stories we shared, I appreciate this book being the first to bring us together and I look forward to our next book. I would not recommend this book. There has to be something better out there that will challenge and encourage you more, this is too basic, you need more than basic!
Cute storyline, but I wish there was more development to the story after they met. The last chapter felt rushed - hurry up, figure out who it was, confess feelings, and just one kiss. Another chapter or two before the end would have been great to feel more of their love. The epilogue helped, but still left me wanting more. I would recommend it as a cute, easy read.

This book would have probably been more enjoyable if the audiobook wasn't so rough. It sounded like she was shouting through a tunnel with lots of background noise. Unfortunately, the distorted audio was distracting, I may have missed some points.
The book explained the science of mental health and provided some practical applications to help yourself and/or your loved ones who struggle with mental health concerns.
The author's consistent swearing and simple word choice made heavy topics easier to understand.
Overall, a good book for someone interested in learning about the biology of mental health concerns, how trauma develops and expresses itself, and useful conversations and actions you can take to help yourself or your loved one with a mental health concern, without getting into a heavy textbook.
This is the kind of book you should read with a notebook. Very good, tons of great quote and real life, relevant examples. So much of it boils down to asking the questions: What do you believe is true, and how do you know it's true. His examples with NASA really drove the concept home. So often we assume things rather than confirming them. Highly recommend to open up your thinking and see things from other's perspective.
I knew it was going to be a slow burn, but I didn't understand how slow! Holy Guacamole! This one was sloooooowwwww! Overall, cute story, it was fairly well developed, the romance was too short for me - they didn't admit their feelings until the very last chapter. I was dying waiting for them to come together! Overall, nice story, not sure I'd recommend.
Great continuation of the series. I didn't feel as deeply connected to these characters as I have in the pervious books. I was thankful that the conflict was short and minor in this book as compared to the last one. I really liked the ending and how it all came together. I look forward to the 4th book that comes out soon!

Great book on the Christian perspective for overcoming fear and anxiety. He shutdown the old belief that having anxiety would be a sin. He gives grace, and space to come as you are, but not allowing you to stay there.
This was my first Max Lucado book. I felt like it was a solid book that used examples from the Bible and current stories to show how to overcome fear with God. Max is a great story teller, so it was fun to listen.
My biggest take away - I need to memorize scripture so that when hard things come I will repeat verses to overcome.
I would recommend this book if you are Christian and struggle with mental illness, difficult thoughts, or are facing a difficult season and need hope that God still cares and He's still in control.

This book had great ratings, but I just couldn't get into it. I listened to about 10% and the only takeaways I got were that he started writing this book by answering questions on Quora, and he spoke alot about crabs, or maybe it was lobsters, and their mating process. Unfortunately, this book started out rough and I gave up.
Not as good as the first one, mostly because the main character has children and they ran most of the storyline, and I am child-free by choice, so I didn't like it. Other than that, they story line was OK, not as good as the first, but I like how it was longer and more developed than most of the other books I read. The ending was cute and had the prefect happily ever after that I love.
Probably one of the best romance books I've read in a veryyyyyyy long time! I loved it. I loved how it was more than the quick romance with one stupid miscommunication. This book was good, like really good! I couldn't put it down. I cried a few times. It was great to get that into a books. Highly recommend if you enjoy office romance books. I'm looking forward to jumping into the next book in the series!
