Good book, really well written and very organized. It contains a lot of useful insights.

I loved the first book, but the second and third were just tedious stories where John Carter was thwarted time and time again. I finally just gave up 50 pages from the end because I just couldn't stand yet another scenario where John Carter was so close to his goal only to have it snatched away

good, not amazing. I'm excited it's a Pike book, but it could have been better.

Just not a fan of carol Starkey.

A bit dark, but still an excellent Cole story.

A little long winded in some sections, covering in great detail topics that don't relate in any way to flight. Many of the quotes were irrelevant and didn't impart any new information or clarity on the topic at hand. Good read, great story.

Read it in just a few hours. Great story.

Probably an excellent book for the beginning of my career, not the end. Cal is apparently a huge Steve Jobs fan and he falsely credits Jobs with many successes (as examples) that were not his alone and that soured me to the book as well.

Very good book and excellent story. I kinda hate books that maintain 8, 10, 20 different stories and jump between them and this one was more of that than I can usually stand. But, I enjoyed the story and will pick up the other books much later.

It's not a book, it's an essay printed in a very very small book (about the size of a large smartphone). A complete and total ripoff.

Aaah, what an amazing book. I absolutely loved it.

I enjoyed the Martian and I'm enjoying this read but I have one complaint already. He's a scientist and does a really good job with the science in the book. But early on, he makes reference to ‘Another solar system' and I have a fundamental issue with that. There is only one Solar system (we're in it), named because our sun is called sol - hence solar.

There is not, nor can there ever be “another” solar system. Later on he starts referring to it as another star system, which is an accurate representation. I know nobody cares anymore about the real meaning of words, the acronym LASER became laser and, I'm guessing, he would argue that Solar system means this place and solar system, in some bizarre twist of the meaning, becomes a star system with only one star. I'm sorry, I'm for accuracy and any author that refers to another star system as a solar system has no idea what they're talking about.

Good information in most places, some sections too brand new product manger for me.

Excellent book, really enjoyed it.

Loves this book. Well organized, lots of useful examples, amazing cultural analysis. I so Wich i had this decades ago.

Aaah, I LOVE MurderBot novels and novellas. A great read and an excellent story. Read the whole series, nice escapist sci-fi

Started out excellent, about midway through he started pointing to software development strategies that I'm familiar with. At that point, I started picking and choosing the parts I read. Cared little about the stories around academia as they're not quite the real world.

A little long-winded for me, could have been shorter. Author often quoted conversations or testimony that didn't seem to make a point or relate to the current topic. Author also assumes that you know a lot about mccarthy (I read this book because I knew nothing about him) frequently referring to topics not covered yet on the book.

Loved it. Bill is a great writer and I'm now much better informed on the topic. More people should read this.

Anderson has always been one of my favorite writers, some of the earliest Sci-fi I read was his. Twas fun reading these stories (rereading some too).

Good book (series). Way too long and apparently unending. I'm stopping here

This book is 698 pages long, not 804 as is shown in goodreads.
