While the book is quite interesting, compiling a lot of work on human behavior, psychology and sociology, it tends to dwell to much into details while you'd expect something more straightforward. But while the path is windy, the arrival is still interesting and you'll learn some interesting tricks about yourself and how to, indeed, improve some parts of your life. Just not tremendously.
A deep dive into what creates an habit and on how to build addictive apps / website, create new behaviors. This book is a must read for every app or website builder, or every person with an interest into building something that users will come back to use often. I really like the moral point of view offered at the end of the book, which shines a light into the entrepreneur's mission and gives a moral compass to follow.
Where do I start... While I still love the Peculiar Children universe, I felt that something was missing in this book. Perhaps regarding to the first one this one was too predictable ? I don't know, I was just rarely surprised. I also had the feeling that this one was reaaally short.
The Peculiar Children are still really nice, each with quite a strong will and personality (in fact, Jacob is the only one with too little personality imho), and the story is still nice, just missing something and ending too soon.
I'll keep on reading, as I got attached to the universe and to the Peculiar Children, I just hope that the following volume will be a bit better :)
A modern 1984, nothing less I'd say. If you're sometimes scared by Facebook or Google, try to picture even bigger, beyond your wildest nightmares and you've got the Circle. It reminded me a bit of Black Mirror in the ways it sees humanity, and can hardly be proven wrong. A must read and soon to be classic I think
