I loved this book! I'll be honest the plot was kind of all over the place at the beginning but it honed in and i ended up enjoying it a lot! No major plat twists but I loved the enemies to lovers and the BANTER. I know this is allegedly a stand alone but i would LOVE a sequel dealing with the falling out with the humans and watching Opal and Dade navigate rebuilding their kingdom and preventing another war. Like, i'm willing to make sacrifices to any deity out there who can make it happen >.>
4.5/5 stars!
Thanks to Netgalley and Orbit for sending me an ARC in exchange for my my honest feedback!
OK wow. I will admit this was a very confusing story at first. The lore and world building was sort of all over the place till about 30% in but then it picked up and everything started clearing up and boy was it entertaining! The story is a little red riding hood retelling and it's amazing to say the least. I love Red and im so excited to see where the story goes! My only real complaint was getting a fade-to-black after all that angst and build up but ill get over it lol
5/5 stars from me!
Thank you to Netgalley and NYC publishing for sending me an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
That was ok. I don't think this book was really my cup of tea. Objectively it wasn't bad but I didn't exactly enjoy reading it. Its a very quick read but it was sort of just meh for me. The majority of the story takes place with the MCs internal monolog and flash backs and the story over all felt a bit anticlimactic. If you are into Greek retellings you might enjoy this but this was sorted for me

This book was a fun read for me. I was instantly hooked by the vampire hunter/vampire enemies to lovers arc i knew i was about to embark on but the mystery of the story as a whole was what kept me reading. This is def more of a mystery/fantasy sort of story with a SPRINKLE of romance. Like the tension is there but it doesnt go further then kissing. The book is pretty graphic violence wise but its a book about vampires so its to be expected. The characters were fun and i had no idea where the story was going but i enjoyed every second of the ride. My only real complaint is that i was left wanting more at the end and i'm not sure if this is the first in the series or not but i have so many questions (further explained in the spoilers)!
Spoilers from here on out*
So this book def felt like it was setting up for more books to come and if thats the case i am here for it! If not though, i have so many questions about the ending and the characters. First of all, I need to know more about how Vic and Alyse became friends and why her dad is so chill about some single dude hanging with his equally single daughter all the time? The dynamic there was never really explained and i'm a little confused. I also dont understand Alyse's ending and whats driving her and i would love to know more. Also, i have no idea what Johnathan is supposed to be at the end? I felt like that entire part was poorly explained unless i missed something. And what are they gonna do in New York? Why did Alyse go to boston instead? What is the society's real end game? I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS! I'm really hoping this will be a series because of all these things that were left unanswered. Also, i would love to watch Vic and Jonathan's relationship grow since we only scratched the surface of it all in this book!
I enjoyed the first 65% of this book more then the last 35% if i'm being honest. The premise is super interesting and i loved the characters and their interactions but at the 65% mark a lot started happening and the plot got a bit confusing. The ending felt very abrupt to me as well. I'll have to reread the last few chapters again but overall i did enjoy the book. i think if you are a fan of greek mythology you would enjoy this too.
Omg this book was absolutely amazing! I love that Alyce is so morally grey and I love how everyone always felt sus so I never knew who to trust. I'm so sad I thought this was a standalone because now I have to suffer waiting for book 2 but also im so excited for book 2! If you are looking for a book that can be defined as “its gay and it slaps” this book is for you!
Wow! I didn't think I could like the sequel as much as the original but I was hooked from start to finish! Lovely tropes in this story include childhood enemies to lovers, being forced to work together, and pretending that the only thing between them is lust.
All in all this was a super fun follow up to taking down the duke and im super excited for the next one!
4.5 / 5 stars for me!
This was such a fun read! Its got all my favorite tropes: enemies to lovers, sharing one horse, a guy who seems to hate everyone but her.... And i'm honestly here for it! In my head it reads like the narrator from bridgerton which makes it extra fun imo.
The plot centers around Annabelle who is a “painfully over educated” commoner and receives a partial scholarship to oxford through a Women's Suffrage foundation. As part of her scholarship requirements she must help out with the movement which involve handing out fliers and petitioning men of power to vote for it. Annabelle ends up approaching a dude who she didnt know was the Duke and shenanigans ensue.
Lots of rom com vibes, fun characters, and an easy read made this a good one for me and i'm excited to pick up book 2!
This book is the embodiment of sitting wrapped up in a blanket on a cold day drinking the perfect warm beverage. My soul feels purified, my heart is warm and fuzzy, and all i want is to be able to read this for the first time all over again. I cannot say enough about how much i enjoyed every second of reading this. I dont know if this book would win any literary awards, the plot is predictable but we arent here for the plot, are we? No, we are here for the characters and the romance and my new favorite trope: enemies to idiots who dont know how to talk about their feelings to lovers. I loved the Super Six so much and their friendship just brings a smile to my face. I would 100% read a sequel to this but it is perfect as a stand alone.
My vote? This is a must read if you want a light hearted romance between two idiots in love <3
