Gabe is a lil sweetie. I enjoyed his career and life was outside of hockey; which switched things up a bit as a firefighter.
Aleks is fresh out of a 10 year marriage, and looking to explore his sexuality. The deal with gabe is to be his first time male partner to get the nerves out. Just a practice guy. Things were always so natural and easy between them:
I liked how they both had their own life and things they loved outside of their relationship. Their schedules were hard to find time to be together but that just made it all the more special when they connected
Amazing dirty talk
So good!! I need more f1 romances.
I loved their chemistry and banter. Riggs is such a sweet talker and pushes Cami's buttons. They have this instant connection neither can ignore.
He fights for her, and she fights for him right back. They had such a deep emotional connection that made their physical connection that much stronger
So enjoyable! LP has a way with small towns and found families.
Romeo is such a sweet guy behind his tough guy boxing exterior. Demi's family has a rich reputation, and she has to prove to him that she is a separate person from who he assumes her family is.
Romeo's friends are true ride or die, and that found family is really special. And when they bring Demi into their circle it's just sweet to see
Seriously loving this series. This found family inside hockey is so cute.
Oskar is a trouble maker and a PR nightmare. Lane elects a himself as his babysitter since nobody else seems to be able to handle him. They always had sexual innuendo banter, but being close 24/7 kind of gives it a new level.
I love a reformed player trope; and this is that with a mix of public sex kink which is always fun
Lane and Oskar compliment each other well and give each other a good balance.
This was full of cringe and unlikable characters.
Reese is 18, and has very “traditional” religious views. No sex before marriage, being gay is wrong, etc.
Fisher is 28, and seems to push her limits when it comes to sexuality and other things.
Now normally that would be fine, but I felt it was done in a way that was ignoring the lack of consent?
I can see how he thinks he knows what she wants, but when she is saying no and stop, and he doesn't... they did not have full intercourse but they did other stuff and she still was like no sex. And he is all “we'll see” and pushing her limits. I don't know.
I understand the very religious views, but she as a character was unlikeable so I couldn't enjoy this. She didn't have her own opinions about anything.
Dex is such a puppy!!!!
This was a sweet but spicy friends to lovers, queer awakening hockey romance.
Tripp and Dex have been best friends since they were on the same team together and have always been close. Tripp has been pining since then, and Dex has been clueless.
Their foundation was strong, and when it turned into something romantic and physical it was fun to see.
This was sweet and spicy!
I felt like Gideon's autism was treated with respect and dignity.
Nicky is a sex worker, and Gideon hires him for 2 months only late nights (10pm-dawn) during the week to explore his sexuality.
There are a lot of rules (no talking, no touching, unless something is wrong)
Both end up breaking some rules, and lines get blurred.
Nick wears his heart on his sleeve and is a natural caretaker. He is gracious with Gideon but also so careful with him and mindful of his social needs.
I wish we had more romance, dates, new love, etc. but I really enjoyed watching these two become a couple.
I LOVED THIS. Devoured.
It was the perfect amount of angst, banter, second chance, cinnamon roll, swoon, and romance.
Zac has been pining over melody since they were teenagers. They had a moment of an almost kiss, and he said he would be right back but he never did. Mel has been holding a grudge since then, and Zac has been waiting for her to come back to ask forgiveness.
Zac is insanely sweet and romantic. He made a mistake years ago, but he has grown and is making up for it now.
Mel is snarky and scowls, but her dry sense of humour is part of the charm.
I loved the way Zac slowly wove his way into her life, and quietly did things to show he loved her. He knew she would spook easy so he took his time. Excellent boyfriend.
This was really good!!! An MM enemies to lovers hockey romance.
The connection was there, and I really appreciated how they were able to grow as people and as a couple. Communicate how they felt eventually. Sure there was the nerves of rejection but they always talked it out and it was wonderful.
Cute and steamy!!!
The first line hooked me, but it took a while to get into it. The first half felt slow. I get it was the story and character building but it was still slow getting into it for me.
That being said, once we got to the juicy stuff I was hooked.
This is BDSM / breath play smut, professor x student, serial killer x FBI informant.
The pair is working toward the same goal (to catch the bad guy) but working on difference sides of the fence.
It is super super interesting and the talk about the past cults was wild... but it was good.
Absolutely amazing.
Opposites attract, Vegas marriage, surprise pregnancy.
Keeley is the fun and flirty doctor who only eats junk food. Graham is the “boring” and serious guy in a suit.
He sees things in black and white and is always prepared and planning. She is living life to the fullest as if there is no responsibility or tomorrow.
They both settle the other in ways they didn't expect. Graham sees colour in life now, and Keeley somewhat reins in her super spending habits and tries to eat better.
I loved this so much and seeing graham loosen up a bit was wonderful. Keeley is what he needs to enjoy life.
BEN!!!!
He is the sweetest and sexiest lawyer. His quiet ways to love Gemma were swoon worthy. He bought strawberries for meetings because he knew she liked them best. He renovated HIS house based on HER Pinterest board before they even got together. He interviewed at the firm she worked at to get closer to her. It's romantic as hell and I love him.
Gemma had trust issues and always assumed and expected the worse case scenario. She barely gave Ben an inch to work with, but he persevered.
absolutely loved this. Josh and Drew are total opposites, and after being stuck on a family vacation together, they become close. Drew is currently dating Josh's brother Six, but they are on rocky grounds. Josh is on vacation with his ex, but his mother invited her and nobody wanted to say no to her.
Six is not into the vacation and is either ditching the activities, or drinking. Josh wants to support his mom so he sucks it up and tags along. Drew doesnt want to rock the boat further, so she sticks with it too.
Josh doesnt like her - or so Drew assumes. She is a famous singer, known by all, and he is a doctor in under previlliged countries trying to provide just the basic amount of health care in war zones.
Drew doesnt want Six the way he assumes she does, and she cant stop looking at his brother Josh.
It was so sweet to see how Josh allowed her to be herself. He allowed her to be brave, and stand up for what she wanted. she is unhappy with her career but doesnt feel like she can speak up about it. He gives her the space and the opportunity to be brave.
the two have an undeniable amount of chemistry, and end up becoming closer, and then sneaking around to avoid suspicion with the family. The ending was sweet, and there was a lot of angst and banter with these two. love this series
Buck is an absolute sweetheart. He deserves the world and I want to pinch his cheeks and love him forever.
He was great with Sunny; and I adored how he called her sunny sunshine and sweets.
She put her doubts and fears first a LOT and had no trust even when he said and showed time and time again he was all in. She doesn't deserve him but she makes him happy so. She listens to outside influences way too much and doesn't listen to what she believes for herself.
I absolutely loved this. I was desperate for Hayes' POV.
This was boss/assistant, grumpy, banter, romance. A touch of a slow burn as well. It was such a fun read and I loved the banter and the charm they both had.
Talia has a lot going on in her personal and family life. She's being pulled in every direction, and in debt up to her eyeballs.
She gets a short term assistant job that'll definitely help pay her bills, but said boss is very British and very demanding. She calls him Satan, but slowly realizes that he is much more than she's quickly judged him for.
She starts to take care of him with vegetable morning smoothies, forced days off, and the occasional lunch break in the sun. He hasn't ever really had anyone take care of him before. Someone always wants him for something (sex, money, etc).
And Talia is always the competent one. Her family relies on her to pick up the slack, and they assume that she I'll help with anything. (Paying bills, home health care..).
Hayes needs her but in a different way, and she is growing addicted to that feeling.
The angst of the will they won't they was killer. I was devouring the pages needing more of them. This was the perfect length leaving me wanting more but I also need a whole other book with them as a couple. More than the epilogue.
I felt like I had to force myself to read this. I've heard so many good things about the later books, but King and Cress aren't my favourite. I got the gist of them from the prequel and appearances in other books.
I felt like the first half dragged, and then finally about 60% through we got new material and it was very dramatic.
The ending of it had me in a roller coaster of emotions needless to say.
Obsessed doesn't begin to cover it.
Cam is PERFECT. He's fun, but sincere. He cares so much about Joellen and with the ruse of getting the guy at work to fall for her, Cam helps boost her confidence and self worth.
He's funny, he's charming, outgoing and loud, he's considerate, protective, and kind.
Joellen doesn't think highly of herself and always puts herself down. Cam doesn't have any of that and threatens to take her over his knee (yes please!!!!) if she continues. I had a hard time with her POV on occasion with her constantly putting herself down and comments on her weight and how she's the ugly duckling.
He slowly made her fall in love with him by just being there. Showing up, demanding dinner ( but it's cute ok) and being honest. Letting her be herself.
Definitely the best in the series.
Grumpy single dad, second chance small town romance.
Cage is a gruff small town vet, but is a softie on the inside. He cares so much for his daughter Gracie, and is the perfect dad.
Presley was his first love, but timing was never on their side.
She's back in town for a short while and they have a summer fling, to enjoy the time they have and they know it'll come to an end.
It was so heart warming and also heart breaking watching these two separate when we knew they loved each other and needed to be together.
