This was an interesting look into the lives of women in the hill country of the Appalachian Mountains. I learned a lot about the way of life there, as well as the hardships that women in particular face in this part of the US.

This was a fun little historical mystery. I enjoyed the mystery, and the setting. The spiritualism parts were interesting. I never thought I'd say this, but I could have done without the romance in this one. It didn't feel like it really added anything to the story.

I am not a horror fan, but this book had me in it's clutches from beginning to end. The story/mystery was fantastic, the characters were diverse and complex, and the scary was just scary enough for this scaredy-cat. Bravo!

I wanted to like this so much more than I did. While I enjoyed the way this weaved the story of the creation of the various Greek gods, I just didn't like Hera as a character. I wasn't rooting for her.

I am a big fan of C.G. Drew's previous novels. I am also a big fan of their Instagram page, @paperfury, and have followed them for years. Now...anyone who knows me, knows that I am not a fan of scary things. I don't do scary movies or tv shows. I can occasionally stretch myself to read scary books though, so I decided to give this one a shot. I'm glad I did, because it was just as beautifully written as Drew's previous works.

I will first say, I absolutely loved the vibes of this story! The boarding school deep in the forest. The angsty teens getting up to mischief. The unrequited love. The vibey descriptions of the scenery. A+, highly recommend.

I enjoyed the romance in this book. It certainly had the very YA appropriate, angst-filled, communication problems tropes that fit so well with this age. I also enjoyed how the narration was a bit unreliable, so you were never quite sure if they each had feelings for the other or not. It was very well done. Chef's kiss.

If you are looking for a spooky, skin-crawling kind of story for spooky season, this is the book you should pick up. I am not big into scary, but I was able to read this with only minimal disturbed sleep. If you are a big scaredy-cat like me, I think this is a good pick to stretch your legs into the horror genre. If you are a big horror fan, this is a light-horror for you, but the vibes and mystery are top-notch.

All of that to say...the ending of this book left me scratching my head. I really am unsure of what it meant. I know lots of people where that is totally their jam, but I am not one of them. So, because of that, and because horror is hard for me to read, I am giving this one a 4 star rating. Beautiful prose, fantastic vibes, shiver-inducing story.

This one wasn't as good as the first one, but I really want to know how the story ends! I just want Evie and Tristan to declare their love for each other!! Is that so hard to ask??

I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. I liked the way the monster and his stories mirrored the main characters' life. A good read for spooky month :)

Erin Hahn cannot write a bad book, I have become convinced. I will admit, I was a little bit wary when I saw the subject matter of this one. Fishing? Eek, that is not my thing at all. I really should never question a book by this woman. I loved it, and heck, I may even want to give fishing a whirl now!

I have really enjoyed this “series” that follows three best friends and their love stories. The first two were about Shelby and Lorelai, who were both in the public eye in some respect. This book is a little more homey, with Maren who is all about fishing and her dog, Rogers. While she did have an up-and-coming YouTube fishing channel back in her younger years, she has moved firmly out of the spotlight by the time this story rolls around. It was nice getting to see a very down-to-earth, ‘normal' girl getting to have a chance at love and happiness in this book.

Maren and Joe were such a great couple to get to fall in love with. Maren is sweet, spunky, and vulnerable. Joe is sweet, a great dad, and learning to open up to love again. They are a match made in cozy heaven. I loved the fall vibes of this one, as well as the setting. I have never been to Wisconsin, but I would love to visit now! I could absolutely see the setting in every description, and it was beautiful.

I loved getting to meet Joe's kids, and seeing the relationship blossom between them and Maren was almost as wonderful as the romance that blooms between Maren and Joe himself. I loved that aspect of this story. It is not always just about falling in love with the guy, it is all that comes with him, including his family.

As for the conflict in the book, I liked one but not the other. Seeing Joe's relationship with his ex was a great source of conflict, as well as Maren being afraid of her brother finding out about her feelings for his best friend. Both of these were perfection. I wasn't a huge fan of the stalker-fan conflict. I just felt like it was a tiny bit forced, and I think the book could have stood without it just fine. That is my only complaint though.

Loved this book, loved the characters, loved the setting, loved the vibes. Pick this up, you won't be sorry. And maybe it will make you want to try fishing

Wow, this was an incredible book! Thought provoking, moving, and inspiring all in one fell swoop. Also, Julia Whelan narrates the audiobook, which just makes everything better.

This was such a fun romance! I admit, when it started off with a wormhole I was skeptical, but it was such a cute story. I loved the full cast recording - I read this in one day because I was so invested!

This was much less interesting than I thought it would be, unfortunately. I will say...for once I think the movie was better. She had beautiful descriptions of Tuscany though. Also, she should have gotten someone else to narrate the audiobook. But, it made me want to go to Italy, so mission accomplished.

Wow, this was such a great mystery! Every time I thought I figured it out, it threw me for another loop. It kept me on the edge of my seat. Also, this one needs to be done on audio, 100%. January LaVoy continues to be my favorite narrator, for good reason.

I always enjoy following Stevie and her friends on their mysteries. This was a fun one, with them being in another country and it being a finite time for her to solve it. That cliffhanger though...

If you are looking for a highly irreverent, tongue-in-cheek, Regency era murder mystery, then look no further. It was cute, and the mystery was fun. It was a little too far into the ridiculous for my personal taste, but it was still pretty enjoyable.

Emma Lord is one of my absolute favorite authors, so I was thrilled when I got the ARC for her first adult romance, The Break-Up Pact! She is known for her humorous and heart-felt YA contemporary romances, so I had no doubt that she would knock it out of the park.

I really enjoyed the setting for this book! I've only been to New York once, and it was to the city. Getting to experience life in a New York beach town was so much fun! It's not what I would normally picture, and that made it exciting for me. Also, June's tea shop, Tea Tide, was the thing dreams are made of ❤️

This was a fun little memoir about Paris, its people, and its food. I enjoyed the French etiquette lessons at the end of each chapter.

Another home run for Emily Henry! A fantastic fake dating/roommate romance with great chemistry and character growth. I laughed out loud multiple times and got butterflies. Fantastic!
