Mountain Madness

A suspenseful and interesting romp that takes less than a week. Young lovers who are too proud to admit it to each other are on holiday in the mountains with the girl's society mother. A horseback ride into the mountains leads them to meet a young local couple and the young man undertakes a strenuous hike to bring mountain laurel down to the young lady.

Who knew that hike would spark the first act in a series of events that range from bandits on the run, a train hold-up, a masked ball, and a night on the mountain in a massive storm? But somehow the author is talented enough to get all that in one book in a mostly-believable manner and make me enjoy the wild ride.

I'll be reading more of her books.
