Hungover oil rigger kills deep sea alien gets aliens super powers. War for planet domination begins.

Dick lit that is good but somehow misses the mark. The main character is a philandering ass who by his own admission is not worth much to his family. He is good at getting drunk and hiring top shelf “hookers” and he cares about his staff on the open water oil rig. Otherwise his depth of character is definitely in the shallows if not in the kiddie pool. By accident Dave kills an interloper from the underworld and all hell breaks loose. If you're wondering of course good triumphs in the end...doesn't it.

Good beach read but I'd suggest a backup.

Some good thoughts. I sometimes wonder if books like this would be popular if they didn't rely on invoking G*d so often...

Certifiably snortable in several places. I listened to this book and have to say it was probably a mistake for the author to have read it herself. There were many times when what was being read would have gotten a bigger laugh from me if the words had been read appropriately.

Recycled ideas. Another book written to be used as a business card.

May come back to it later as a partial resource.

Got this from the library. Have now ordered my own personal copy. This material makes sense!

Sadly, no. I wavered between a two and a three on the early days of President Snow. I loved The Hunger Games before they became “THE HUNGER GAMES”. There's only so many versions of meh I can work up for this character study. The only dopamine bump I got was when I saw the explanation of katniss - not that Katniss.

Good beginning running book.

Delightful book using Tarot or as the author states it “tarots” as a building block for the story. Easy fun read

Good solid mystery that combines past and present perfectly. Dialect doesn't work in books oftentimes but in this case I felt like I was sitting with my “kinfolks” and having a chat.

Loved it.

If you've ever dreamed of living abroad this is a how to guide that would set you in good stead to read. Great tips and good resources.

Great introduction to kettlebells and for some reason I find the “comrade” shtick entertaining rather than annoying.

I like food. I like eating. I like Ellie Mathews.

Even though I've never met Ms. Mathews and I probably never will I feel a connection to her. I feel like I could sit down with her and her husband Carl - “hey Carl” and have a glass of tea or soda and feel right at home.

Anyway I feel like Ms. Mathews - “Oh, I can call you Ellie? Thank you, please call me Gregory.” - anyway, Ellie and Carl and my wife and I could spend a Friday evening playing hearts around their kitchen table after we've had a delicious meal - “We'll bring the salad.” and when Ellie comes to the table she will make some deprecating remark about how whatever we're having this evening will probably be barely edible, but we'll take that first bite and of course it will be delicious and satisfying...just like her book.

Oh by the way did I mention she was the winner of the Pillsbury Bakeoff? It's so easy to forget that. I liked this book a lot. I think you will too.

Easy technique book with good patterns and sometimes you just need to look at pretty things.

Creepy, crawly and generally disturbing but altogether a fearsome delight. I'm hoping the author will write more as he has the potential to become huge.

The novel has a sense of place but the cadence always seems to be a beat behind. I was hoping to love this book as it's got as Wally Lamb says on the cover, “...everything I savor in fiction.” But for me it never all pulled together. It needed more of the folk magic/lore and less of the crazy Appalachian stereotype. I wished it could have been more...

Some funny bits. Some dull bits. Some nice ways to bring intimacty into your life and that is what pushed it to a 4 star, otherwise I would have only given it a three.

Would have rated it higher but the author's basic premise about the spiritual beliefs of his characters and how they would act is flawed. Otherwise the writing is folksy and charming. The cover, the language and the book just simply don't go together. Uneven.

Story of a self classified, loser, private detective looking for an alternate Constitution of the United States. But that is not the prime message of the book. The prime message is that the author found all of this sick stuff on the internet. This book is scatological, perverse, perverted, and has little socially redeeming value...and yet I enjoyed it. It is disgusting and yet laugh out loud funny as well as eliciting gasps of shock and often making you feel appalled and dirty. THIS IS NOT A BOOK for the prudish or the easily offended or for that matter those who are difficult to offend but if you are looking for something that is way different this is it. Again some of my friends will thoroughly enjoy this book and some of you if you do dare to read it will probably feel sympathy for me that I actually read it and enjoyed it. Please still be my friend.

Passable parable book.

Not a fan of the “Who moved...my whatever” genre. However there are some good things in this book. Bottom line I'm not sorry I read it.

Girl is raised with chimpanzee till she is six years old then her “sister” is sent away. How the secrets and the lies we are told and tell ourselves change our worlds.

Well written. Good storytelling. Nicely fleshes out animal rights, animal consciousness, and the human animal's interactions among the species. Some of the writing is very graphic but integral to the story.

Obviously a kids book with a few adult references thrown in. Cute.

For Project Manager's and Sharepoint apps users...this is good stuff.
