new favorite author....she's very talented
her characters are neurodivergent and it's so good to see that in books ! so yeah the depictions are

this is not scary nor disturbing, it's just gross.
pretty much all the characters (even the author at this point) are sexist, macho and homophobic
the fuck with the animal torture ? is it a unfulfilled phantasm for the author, so he wrote a book to be appease ?

it is a short book but let me tell you, it doesn't take away the amount of emotions and strength of the content inside

I felt so seen, the way her brain works is so well described
(the suicidal episode in particular)


but the very last sentences left me perplexed, being mentally ill isn't a mindset but a disease and you can recover only thanks too therapy :)

Melissa broder's writing is exquisite, one of my favorite author

I tried, but I can't pass the age gap AT ALL
the bestfriend is shown as a young-naive-pure girl, everyone is lying to her
ex; they're all talking in the kitchen, but Erin and Cassie are literally making sex-jokes, that only them can understand, this is just immature

I thought it was going to be a 5 stars but it is a good 4
