Throughout this whole series, I hated Ghost. Honestly I did.
If you haven't read the series yet, there are spoilers below.
He pissed me off in Fearless when he told Mercy that he would cut Ava off and not pay for college if he didn't leave her.
He pissed me off even further with how he treated Aidan in Secondhand Smoke. (The boxing scene between them?!?! I mean, come on Ghost!!)
And then in Loverboy It was up to Aidan to rescue Tango. I mean, he earned brownie points in that book, but I just felt like I was constantly pissed off at Ghost.
In this book however, I kinda fell in love with him. I was worried that Lauren Gilley wouldn't be able to sway my opinion on him, but she fucking did. As always.
It really did make you understand why he was such an asshole. He became a much better president and father in this book.
I liked seeing Maggie go from proper rich girl to biker babe in this book. She's always been one of my favorite characters, and even if I wasn't initially excited for Ghost's own book, I was excited to hear Maggie's.
This story jumps between past and present, which I usually don't like too much but Gilley does a wonderful job at switching between the two. I thoroughly enjoyed both parts.
All-in-all this was a 5 star read for me.
