"Fifteen years have passed since the end of the Red Ship War with the terrifying Outislanders. Since then, Fitz has wandered the world accompanied only by his wolf and Wit-partner, Nighteyes, finally settling in a tiny cottage as remote from buckkeep and the Farseers as possible.
But lately the world has come crashing in again. The Witted are being persecuted because of their magical bonds with animals, and young Prince Dutiful has gone missing just before his crucial diplomatic wedding to an Outislander princess. Fitz's assignmant to fetch Dutiful back in time for ceremony sems very much like a fool's errand, but the dangers ahead could signal the end of the Farseer reign."

Happy to return to first characters after the LiveShip Trilogy diversion. Fitz gets back in the royal game, but how does it go? You can guess, but it would be more fun to watch the story play out with this trilogy. You can't just read this book. Prepare to dive into the whole Tawny Man trilogy. It'll go by quickly.

The Liveship Traders are still my favorite, but this is amazing as well. I loved being back with Fitz, the Fool, and Night Eyes. I love Robin Hobb's writing. She is a genius.
